I bought a total of 11 MR16 lights. Of those 7 of these were one beam style and intensity, a narrow beam spot. All failed one after the other within 1 year. I also bought a pond light trio. One of the three lights in the trio failed within 6 months. I had to cut the wires and splice the wire for one light in the trio to place it on a different level of the fountain. The slice was located in the center spacer between layers and sealed with silicon to keep the connection non-submerged and also dry. The splice had nothing to do with why one light had failed but because I created a splice, it voided the warranty and they would not replace the item. read more

Customer service is horrible. Have asked 3 time to speak to a supervisor and have yet to be connected. I ordered a couple pagoda lights as "samples" one with the 2700K bulbs and one with the 3000K bulb. We decided we preferred the white light of the 3000K bulb. The pagoda lights are $81 each with the bulbs. Then I discovered that COSTCO carries the Pagoda lights from Volt lighting packaged with the 2700K bulbs, 4 pagoda lights for $199. Thats 40% cheaper but with a different bulb than I selected. The bulbs cost the same. I spoke with Volt lighting several times and they refused to offer any type of discount with the bulb I selected and refused to let me discuss this with a supervisor. Furthermore that told me I could purchase the lights from COSTCO with the bulbs that I didnt like, then order the preferrred bulbs from volt lighting and still save $20 per light vs ordering the lights from Volt Lighting. Seriously?? They would rather have me throw away the 2700K bulbs from COSTCO and reorder the 3000K bulbs from Volt than to work out a deal with me for 40 more lights. Its the same light except for the bulb. Couldnt believe this bologna! read more

I originally bought all my landscaping lighting from Volt over 5 years ago. I installed them in both the front and backyards. My original lights installed by my landscape architect never lasted at all. These brass lights have been the only lights that in California have lasted and still work as they did day one!!! I haven't installed the product yet so cannot speak to how well they work or hold up. Most of what I had purchased are still in the box. But so far I've had a couple bad experiences with Volt's customer service so I am now very weary of how amendable their life-time warranty promise will be. A couple of weeks ago, my landscaper urged me to purchase approximately $3000 worth of their lighting products (direct from the Volt website). I saw just over this weekend that Volt is running a Memorial Day sale with everything discounted with 10% off. I contacted them today asking if they would do a simple Price Guarantee as most legitimate retailer would. The ask was to credit back the difference in what I had paid a few weeks ago to what I would pay today with the 10% discount; this would be around $300. After emailing and talking to both the customer service rep then his manager; they flatly denied my request and basically stating in so many works "tough luck". I've never dealt with a major retailer/manufacturer that would not honor the difference in their own pricing especially when buying direct from them. Therefore buyer beware because once Volt make the sale, you are pretty much on your own. read more

Great product and better customer service! I purchased my landscape lights over 4 years ago. After daily use, my transformer died. I called Volt expecting them to find a loophole in the Lifetime Guarantee offered on the transformer. Nope. I told them what the problem was and they immediately sent me a UPS return label. I dropped the box off at a UPS store at 5pm and two days later I had a brand new transformer (an upgraded model) delivered to my door. Always had great results from volt products and customer service, recently purchased 4 solar lights from them ( supposed to be best in industry ) lighting output is inferior to much cheaper amazon product. Have had in ground for a week and discarded original boxes after install, Will only take return in original box. Who keep boxes, boxes are more important than inferior product. Will not purchase again not a way to treat a customer I guess they want to send out the dull output fixtures to another unsatisfied customer. read more

Volt Lignting (voltlighting.com) does an amazing job. I purchased landscape lighting supplies several years ago and installed myself which was a feat for me. Materials are exceptional quality and the customer service was and still is outstanding. I had to make several calls while installing to find out why things were not working. They were professional and patient with me helping find out where I made a mistake and walked me through what I needed to do differently. I have added lights over the years as well to my system. I purchased a complete outdoor lighting system from Volt 8-9 years ago and have made a few additions over the years. Underground wire, transformer box, timer, photo cell, about a dozen up lights, two down lights, junction boxes, ect.... The representatives at Volt helped me through the installation process and whenever I have questions they are very helpful. If a bulb burns out I call and next day the bulb is delivered at no charge. I spent thousands with this company within the past 3 years. Now my outdoor fixtures are corroding and they won't do anything despite what their warranty says. I also had to replace the power supplies already for my indoor lighting (that I bought last year) and forgot the power supply cord. This is a $1 dollar part but when I went to order it they told me that it was going to be $12 in shipping!! I asked if they could wave it? Even despite of everything, they would not. Had I bought this from Home Depot I would only be out $.30 in gas but because I bought it from them I'm out $12. I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt but that ends.
