Melissa gave me subtle highlights and balayage to make everything a bit more even. I am someone who goes from brown to ombré, balayage to brown again cuz I'm bored. Always wanted to just go the straight blonde but told let's just do foils a few times. Which going blonde is a process I know and accept that. But the amazing Luke, is the first to actually sit and think about a way to tackle my bronde hair. The staff collaborated with each other to see what could work best to get me along my dream of being blonde. This I think was nice, they really do care about you and your hair at hair cartel. The thing I loved the most was that they didn't try and rush me along and find the quickest solution. No I was there all day and was happy to because Luke was happy to help me get closer to my dream. I sat down and explained to the owner from the beginning that I wanted an ombre and showed pictures of what I wanted, she didn't know what an ombre was and had completely damaged half my head when she just bleached the bottom half with no highlight or blending technique it just look ridiculous, then she told me this is what I wanted. I had to go to another salon to FIX yes FIX the damaged caused and they recommended the bleached part to be cut off as the bleach that she used was too strong and it damaged my long hair. cheapness comes at a price - I CRIED :(

Before my friend became a hairdresser and I became her regular, I always came to Busby. I probably started going there when I was about 14 and they always treated me with the utmost respect, even when I came in on my own. I would ask them to skip all the fancy stuff, like blow-drying, because I couldn't afford it at that age but they would often throw it in for free anyway. They always listened very carefully to what I wanted and would help me find the perfect color. However, pretty much every time I was there so was the owner, Tim Findon. He is pretty much the brains and artist behind the salon and many people say that when he is not there everything goes to shit. He travels a lot so it's no guarantee that he will be there so I guess it's a risk. Personally, I have never had a bad experience there. It can be a bit pricey at times but that's the price for well-trained hairdressers.
