I know the mall as a mall is sad. I mean, it's spotless clean and empty. Not really any stores except Boscovs. I made an appointment at the County Store to submit a new passport application. They We're super knowledgeable, you were only allowed in the office is you had an appointment and I was in and out in five minutes! They took my picture, application, payment and told me exactly when to expect it. Super helpful. I'm so glad I decided to go to this location to get this done! read more

Eep! Echelon Mall, what happened to you? I remember fond times here as a kid, mostly at Taco Bell in the food court, but then at some point the place just deteriorated and then eventually became the Voorhees Town Center. These days, VTC reminds me of a sadder Moorestown Mall. Anchored by dated versions of Boscovs and Macy's, the innards of the place are inhabited by boring stores (Joyce Leslie is going out of business, guys!), weird stores (Adventureland?) and an arcade....which was empty on a weekend. The food court area, decorated with fake palm trees, is reminiscent of its former days, though a cookie shop on the outskirts did NOT look appealing in the slightest. There's also a stretch of newer spots with apartments above them. That part at least looks cute. You'll mostly find restaurants there, like Catelli Duo, Rodizio and Iron Hill. A salon also has an outpost there. Maybe one day this place will be restored to its former vibrant self, but I doubt it. read more

The Voorhees town center, which when I was growing up was called, the Echelon Mall was never anything special, but it's sadddddddddd now!!! I went expecting at least one store to be open and even Macy's was gone. It was sad seeing something that was once a decent mall go to the dumps. I use to enjoy the food court, but there aren't three places to eat now and certainly nothing worth trying. I can name the amount of stores in this entire facility on two hands and that should say it all. I think they should close the handful of stores left and create a community center. They already have someone holding tai chi or karate lessons in the hallway, on a Saturday afternoon. This use to be a place to be seen. Some place where I always ran into people I know, but it's a shell of what it use to be and the only anchor store left is Boscovs, which should tell you something. read more

My first visit here, and probably not a mall I would return to unless I needed something from Macy's or felt like exploring Boscov's. It's a shame because it is in a nice area, and with a few decent restaurants nearby. Even the food court seems to be better occupied than the retail stores, and offers more choices than said stores. But with only around half the spaces rented, and by stores that I'm not very interested in, my excursion here was lacking. Just wow, there is nothing left here. The entire second floor is now Dr's offices and the Voorhees town hall..Oh and the County store. Really in a mall.? Downstairs, There is a "used" furniture store, Verizon wireless, T Mobile, and a few others. Macy's recently shut its doors here, that leaves only Boscovs as the anchor store.. The food court has three, four or maybe five places left to eat in it. It's sad, The Voorhees Town center is only a tiny shell of what was once the great Echelon Mall.. Sad and Depressing now.. I visited this mall a long time ago, back when it was the Echelon Mall. I do not recall it being as dead back then as it is now, in its current incarnation as Voorhees Town Center. We went to this mall on a Sunday for a Munzee event. There wasn't a crowd. There are many unoccupied store spaces in the lower level of the mall and the entire upper level was very quiet. Aside from the food court and the game arcade, the stores appeared to be doing little or no business. On the plus side, parking and traffic didn't pose a problem. read more

I took my annual visit the week of Christmas. I don't understand how this place can get even worse from the last time I came here. MORE stores closed down and half the food court is empty. Great American Cookies, Kay Jewelers, Macy's, Subway, Yanagi, Mexican Grill, Philly Steaks, Chick-fil-A, Bassett's BBQ, Hallmark, Joyce Leslie, Echelon Uniform, Country Scentes all CLOSED. Plus, to make things worse, most of the ceiling lights are either burned out or not turned on. The food court and Boscov's court looked dark and gloomy. This place used to be known as the Echelon Mall. Years ago, it was a decent mall. Now-a-days, not so much. This mall is like a ghost town, it has many vacant stores. Some of the new tenants kind of have hints of Pennsauken Mart'ish vibes to it (for those that remember the Mart). The Macy's at this location is the worst (compared to KOP, Cherry Hill or even the Deptford Mall). The food court seems to be the only place that has traffic. The upside: this mall is very peaceful/quiet during the November to December madness. I like the entrance/facade of the mall near the Macy's side. I am scratching my head over this one. I mean, the Voorhees area is nice; fairly wealthy in some respects. Around the corner is The Promenade at Sagemore (Marlton) and that center seems to be thriving. I guess it is about Location, Location, Location. Stores such as the Cherry Hill Mall or King of Prussia are conveniently located near major highways/thoroughfares/bridges. However, the Voorhees Town Center is sort of hidden, you have to go out of your way to get here. Located on the outskirts of the mall is a open-air/mixed-use ' boulevard' of apartments, street level shops and restaurants. We have recently dined at Catelli Duo Osteria and have bookmarked the Rodizio (Brazilian Steakhouse) as a 'to try'. We are looking forward to the opening of the Iron Hill Brewery as well as the Elena Wu restaurant. From what I have read, the owners of this property is PREIT (Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust) who also own the Cherry Hill and Moorestown malls (along with other properties across the US). I am sure they are scratching their head as well. I don't know, maybe they need to court new(er) concepts from places in London such as TopMan, etc.....something to make the mall a destination. I miss the old Echelon Mall with the movie theatre, Exhilarama, food court with variety and oh yeah... stores. Those days are gone and now the new Town Center stands in its place. For what it is, I like it. No matter , the time of day it's never crowded. Parking is never an issue and losing my toddler in a crowd will never happen. It's clean and cool for those days when walking at the park won't do. There are read and play areas near Macy's. In addition there is a big chalk board in the food court to entertain the little ones. It's very mom friendly. There are still some stores worth visiting. I always visit the Bath and Body as well as the Victoria Secret. They always have good sales. Also the Children's Place has in store deals in addition to the advertised ones. The Macys is still there and Boscovs is good for reasonably priced house hold items. My daughter likes Claire's and the arcade near the food court. The food court has Auntie Annies, Chic-fil -a and a Salad Works. All my faves on one spot. On the outside is a string of new restaurants that I've been told are good. It's not Cherry hill or Deptford Mall, and that's one reason I like it. I can grab a pretzel, a candle cute kid outfits with out battling crowds with my stroller. For a quick bite to eat and some brief browsing with children this is the place. read more

Someone, somewhere is attempting to revitalize this mall. Truth is, it should have been put out of its misery a looooong time ago. Once known as the Echelon Mall, it is now known as the Voorhees Town Center. There are apartments nearby that look cheap and overpriced. There is also a "main street" type of shopping area with some restaurants and smaller shops. The store anchor stores -- Boscovs and Macy's -- are old and decrepit. Both are in need of a serious makeover. The food court is almost absent. There is a Chic-Fil-A, so score! Township offices are located on the second floor across from Macy's, which is just weird. Who wants to see people going in and out of municipal court when they're trying to shop at the jewelry department? This "mall" or town center, whatever, doesn't even have a Gap. It does have, however, a lot of vacant store space and quite a few chinsy looking stores. It's worth it to travel to another mall like Deptford or Cherry Hill. read more

The boyfriend and I were very confused when we came here on a Friday night because we only saw a **handfu**l of other customers at the Macy's. we walked around the mall and saw that it was deserted except for the arcade that was full of kids. I honestly thought I was in a time warp back to the 90's. Even the township had offices here. Township offices...in...a...mall. What???? I asked two teens about the mall and they said that it was 'always this dead'. I don't understand. But I won't be back. This mall doesn't really offer anything for me. read more

Yes, I have actually returned to this mall. Mind you, I spent no money. we had some time to waste and my daughter suggested we check out Adventureland, which is a comic book and game store. While our initial view of that store was better than expected, the closer we looked, the less it met any of our needs. The comic books seem to be only DC or Marvel. That's fine if those are what you are looking for, but we weren't. Anyhow, we counted six empty storefronts in the food court, 12 more empty storefronts on the lower level and 13 on the second floor. There were at least two stores that were not open at 6:00 on a Friday evening. The second floor, while not empty is basically government offices and the a children's doctor's office. Hardly normal mall stores. There's a large sign promising this mall will come back. Perhaps. The mall does not look to be physically decrepit. The food court is packed roughly around 12PM on weekdays. (Lunch breaks) Honestly, there isn't anything good here other than Finish Line and what's left of the food court. I know it wasn't the go to mall back then either, but I had lived through the few short years where the mall was actually packed. (There was a KB toys, GameStop, McDonalds, Popeye's, etc.) Shoot, but I'm thankful for that Chic-fil-a. Still can't believe Yanagi isn't there anymore. read more

My visit was excellent, clean mall experience and not crowded. I just loved it and I will definitely be back.

This mall first failed in the early 2000s. When PREIT announced plans to downsize the mall and add outdoor shops and apartments in the back, I thought Voorhees Town Center had a promising future. But unfortunately the redevelopment coincided with the Great Recession. The mall portion never recovered. By 2015 PREIT got wind of a possible Macy's closure and sold the mall at a loss. Macy's didn't actually close until 2017 and meanwhile inline stores continued to shutter. Except for LensCrafters, the few remaining stores and eateries are all on the first floor. And now two of the four escalators have been shut down. This is a dead mall. And yet, it doesn't feel hopeless. Much of the space is now occupied by government and non-profit offices. And numerous community activities are still hosted here. I can't say what the future holds for sure but the town seems committed to doing something good with this place. read more

Wow this place is an epic fail! Half of it is new and there is plenty of parking but there is nothing there. They redid the outside of what use to be known as the Echelon Mall to create an upscale lifestyle center. One side is almost all dining establishments and the other side has a gym, a coffee shop and a frozen yogurt stand that i can't ever tell if it is open or not. Walking through the outside portion it reminds me of a scene out of the "Golden Girls", it has that 1985 Florida vibe to it. The whole place just feels so empty and unfinished. Maybe some day when they get more shops it will look and feel different but I think by the time that happens the shops that are there now will go out of business and it will just be a vicious cycle. The mall portion that is still open is so sad, everything is dark and dated. Walking through one can see where well known chain stores once existed and left, now mom and pop stores have taken over. There is a T-shirt shop occupying the old Hot Topic space, they are trying to sell the same type of merchandise sold by the previous occupant, it is so pathetic. I don't know what it would take to revitalize this place, I don't know if it can be done, but every time I come here I could kick myself because it is simply a great waste of time. read more

I miss Exhilarama and the movies :( I wish there were more stores here. The food court has always been pretty decent though. The only reason I come here is to get clothes and things that are sold out or hard to find in my size at other busier malls. The mall is in a transitional period. Things look slow now, but they have a lot of things going for them: good location (for people who live in the area), clean mall with a modern layout. They just need to attract the right stores, and this mall will be bustling again. They've already added great restaurants to their adjoining street property. The new building looks nice. I utilize the food court often in between jobs but I wish they had better stores so I don't have to take that long trip to cherry Hill. Alright, alright, so this ain't 5th avenue - but Vorhees Town Center (as fellow yelpers have pointed out, former Echelon Mall) is has plenty of shops and restaurants to please a suburban crowd. Yeah, it can be a bit deserted, but who said thats a bad thing? Remember when the parking situation at the Cherry Hill Mall got so bad that one lady bit off another lady's finger? Yeah, never gonna happen here. You also never have to worry about ridiculous lines or low-stocked product. This area is very nice and I am excited because I live less than 10 mins away. This place has nice businesses and a farmer's market on Sat. The Farmer's market is a bit stingy from what I am used too. The only problem is that if you live here and a private person, this is not the place for you. For me there is too much traffic and neighbors are too close for comfort. read more

At half its former size as the Echelon Mall, you would think there'd be more than enough stores to fill the retail space. Nope. It should have born razed and something put up in its place. Too many malls in the area and this one just can't compete. Half empty food court and maybe 30-40% of its retail space vacant. Overall, this is a nice mall. It's not overly crowded, you could be in and out in no time. Today, I decided to try out the Chinese Massage place. It's a hole in the wall,sketchy looking place but it definitely gets a 4 star review from me. I went in with a kinked neck and came out feeling great. It's holistic medicine. He knew exactly where I was hurting without telling him. It's cash only. I got the 20 minute massage for $20. The rooms are not very private, they have curtains instead of doors in every room. This Mall use to be the hang out spot back in the day when I was growing up. You would meet up with your friends go to Laser Zone or the movies or Exhilarama. It use to be the so much to do back in the day. Now they need to just close it down and let it go. The mall is pretty much empty and more stores have closed recently. There is like 5 stores open in the food court. The stores that are open around the "Town Center" aren't stores that would attract anyone to come in and actually shop. It was fun while it lasted please let the mall close. I would like to see the mall when it was first built and how It progressed through the years. This mall is tiny compared to every other mall in the area. Yes there are many vacant stores. It is still a good mall if you are shopping for certain things like clothes or jewelry. It has a decent food court with other restaurants in the same plaza. Not nearly as crowded and well stocked in stores. No video game store. Has an arcade. read more

I come here sometimes but not a lot. There's not many stores. I wasn't in South Jersey at the time when it was a bigger mall. This mall reminds me of Randall Park Mall in North Randall, OH (outside of Cleveland) after all the main stores left. read more

SHOCKED ! Went holiday shopping a few weeks back and the only thing they had going for it was a few small stores and a few restaurants in the food court at best. Is this supposed to be the "busy" season? I noticed there were NO security guards or maintenance workers present, unlike the old days when there was one at the bottom area near the food court and a few wandering around. This place needs some patch up, paint and repairs also. Santa was stuck in the far corner where Macy's is now closed instead of the center of attraction of the mall, which was Boscov's. The escalators were not even on?!?!? That never happened in any mall I have seen. I saw older people trying to walk up and down the escalators and shaking their heads in frustration. It is strange how there were more office/government places ( Town Hall? and County Store? and County planning board ?) and no real "Mall" stores. No Macy's, No Gamestop, No Hallmark? What happened to this place? Yes online sales killed a lot of retail stores, but this is a shopping mall and it is more like an old ghost town on Route 66. The line at Victoria Secret was long as expected and Boscov's was busy also as expected. Yes Cherry Hill and Deptford malls areas are busy, but that means they attract business and making money. I don't know if or what kind of tax break that mall is getting, but I am surprised it is even open. I venture to say, you will see more medical and business offices open up here soon to be more of a professional center instead of a shopping mall. I think the town made a mistake by not allowing that Walmart to come into this area, Somerdale and the shops nearby are always booming. I feel sorry for the retailers in the area that lost so much as this mall took a dramatic nosedive within the last 8-10 years. I hope the best for this place. read more

Stop thinking about the mall and go outside to the great restaurants. Catelli, Iron Hill Brewery, Rodizio Grill and Burger 21 is good. I understand the mall is depressing but what mall besides Cherry Hill isn't. I wish they would knock down the mall and make it more of a strip mall. Just a sad experience. It may help balance you out if you are giddy. Once the Echelon Airport, this became the Echelon Mall in 1970. The mall doubled in size but Sears quickly closed. It is not near any major roads like other local malls. The whole expansion was demolished for housing and restaurants. It is a shell with a mix of municipal offices and shuttered stores. The late great Echelon Mall..RIP.. bureaucratic bungling allowed a half cheeked Sears to be built which disrupted the traffic flow around the mall parameter and was like attaching a third arm at your belly button... that Sears store was incomplete and I was often told to go to Deptford Sears to get what I was looking for.. the mall lots were redesigned making it even harder to enter and exit from the nearby roads.. that engineering person was obviously a relative of someone because they were wholly incompetent. . The review below tells the history of the mall quite accurately going back to it roots.how the lifeblood was literally drained from this living, breathing place... the place were I really met and 4 years later lost my true love soul mate.... had many nights with the mall " rats" at the mutiple arcades.. saw movies at the cinema.. the pet store.. Scottos pizza.. York Steakhouse..picked up babes while drinking big gulps laced with Bacardi 151... cruised our street cars in endless circles (until that stupid Sears) and played frisbee in the wide open lots.. the TC is nothing like that now.. and parking is horrid on the weekends for what is there.. and yes.. the apartments are cheap and over priced.. government has failed us here.. so it seems only right they should locate their offices here.. they ruined this once great place.. so smell the stink your efforts? have created.. as a lifelong Voorhees resident , it pains me greatly to visit this place now..."sad" doesn't quite say enough.. read more
