It's a little chaotic purchasing riches because the boarding lines, the ticket lines, and the prepaid ticket people are all in the same area. Lines crisscrossing. It sends like it could be very easy door someone to cut in line, but they seem to think it works for them, so ok. The ride is about 45 minutes to an hour. It really helps having a lively guide because to be honest, there's not that much to see, at least not up close. But there are clever looking buildings, like the one that looks like Tobeleron. There are nearby floating bars and restaurants. And there's even a binge humbling place across the waterway. You get to see the little mermaid statue... but only from the backside!!!

We'd been on boat tours in other cities, and it's usually one of the best things we do. You see things not from the perspective of a motor vehicle on a highway, or a train moving down the track, but rather as people did hundreds of years ago when moving across the sea or through waterways. The seats were ok, not the most comfortable, but not bad. The narration in English was excellent. I could put up many photos and a few videos of tight under-bridge passages, beautiful buildings, interesting boats, and so on. I'll leave that task to others, and keep my review uncluttered. Boat rides are great fun, young or old, no matter the level of fitness. Avoid the heat of the day, maybe aim at the final cruise of the day, and I believe you'll enjoy it.

I like being on the water. Put me on a boat so I can explore the city while also sitting for an hour or so and I am happy gal. So on my next-to-last day in the city, needing to kill a little time before a museum opened up, and wanting to rest my feet for a spell...I hopped on a Netto boat tour. Also...because I had already done the other boat tour included with the Copenhagen Card. The boats are a little dingier and dirtier than some other tour companies. And they pack the boats full. You may not have much personal space on a busy day. But you get a full circle tour of the city from the water and you get to be on a boat for an hour. So...*shrug* So I stand by the Canal Tours being much better. But I think as long as you get to do a boat tour during your time in town, any one will do.

It's so romantic, we decided to kiss every time the boat goes under the bridge. And people! there are MANY bridges on this tour, over 20 in fact, but who's counting? If you're not a romantic, the practical purpose of this tour is to catch your bearings. Whenever I'm somewhere new, I always opt for the best mode of transportation to see the city. And here, it's best seen on the water. You'll pass the famous Little Mermaid, the impressive Opera House, the upscale Christianshavn neighborhood, Vor Freslers Kirke, etc. The tour lasts about 60 minutes and costs 60 Dkk (that's only $10!) and it's the best tour given in Danish and English. Don't go to the DFS company, they charge twice as much for the same exact tour.

We chose the two-hour tour, which felt like the perfect balance, not too short and not too long. While it is a bit more expensive than some of the larger boat tours, the experience is much more intimate. With a smaller group, it was easy to ask the captain questions and have meaningful conversations throughout the journey. One of the highlights was a brief stop at a historic military base, where we learned even more about Copenhagen's fascinating history. Along the way, we admired the city's stunning and unique architecture and, of course, made a stop at The Little Mermaid. Our captain, Aske, was one of the best tour guides we've ever had--friendly, entertaining, knowledgeable, and full of great energy. If you're considering a boat tour in Copenhagen, we highly recommend this one. It was an unforgettable experience, and we learned so much about the city. You won't regret it!

The perfect combo of social interactions, enjoying the company and great commentary and guiding. Very comfortable in the boat, we were blessed with a little sunshine so it was perfect. There was a couple on board who were less interested in the social element but the Texan lady also on the boat was a delight to be with too. Our captain managed the dynamics very well. Easy to book, great comms beforehand and a warm welcome. Highly recommend this great boat ride which gives a wonderful perspective on this lovely city. Great value for money. It's really a great way to take in the culture of the city that you're visiting while also familiarizing yourself with the area. We booked the "Grand Tour of Copenhagen" ahead of time to ensure a tour in English for that day. The tour can also be joined last minute depending on availability. The biggest draw is that the actual tour is free. You're just paying the gratuity to your guide at the end of it all. We met our guide at the steps of City Hall. Just look for the guides with bright green umbrellas. I say this because there are other free walking tours that meet up at similar locations within the square. Wayne checked us in and suggested that we take a look around inside City Hall before the start of the tour. It was a great suggestion as we probably wouldn't have seen it otherwise. It was a great introduction! Wayne was very informative throughout the tour. He pointed out things that we wouldn't have noticed right away. We learned about the culture, government, history, and even the language. He taught us all a few basic Danish words to help us with greeting people. He was great! It's a nice short tour that takes up only about 2.5 to 3 hours of your time. The pacing of the walk is perfect. There are cobblestone streets and bike lanes to navigate through, but otherwise it's an easy walk. Our tour ended at Amalienborg Palace. The only thing that would make the tour better is the timing of it. An early morning tour that ends right before the changing of the guard ceremony would be ideal. However, this might not be possible due to the time given after the tour for those with last minute questions or needing recommendations. That's totally understandable. Otherwise, it was time very well spent. Highly recommended!

We hadn't made a reservation since we weren't sure how jet lag would be affecting us, but the greeter was very welcoming and added the four of us to the English-speaking tour (it probably helped that we arrived 10-15 mins early). Weather was very nice and comfortable temps. Our tour guide, Wayne (I believe was his name), was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. He walked us through many key spots around the city, provided lots of interesting points about the local history, architecture, and language, and helped us see things we never would have noticed otherwise! Such a beautiful city, hard to take it all in without some guidance. At the end of the tour, he pointed out a cute little establishment where we could get locally-sourced snacks, drinks, and trinkets, which I really appreciated since so many souvenir shops are just full of items made elsewhere. All in all a fabulous day exploring Copenhagen, highly recommend!

First tip, book ahead. They will prioritize customers if you've booked so that they have a proper sized group. Second tip, don't go to the last tour of the day. I did that and unfortunately, it was a massive group of more than 50 for the English tour. This made for a less than ideal environment with too many people, too far from the tour guide and a slow progression through the city. I'm sorry to say that I left the group after the third stop. I still have high hopes for Sandemans and will be looking forward to using them when I get to Porto next month.

Hope Sandemans get to Brazil and other city capitals around the world soon - why not Stockholm guys? ;)

Especially when they are in a group following a tour guide around a city. But the nerdiness is a small price to pay because Segways are amazing fun and such a great way to tour a city. The Segway was invented by Dean Kaman in 1981 and are two wheel, self balancing things that are so much fun. Segways are amazing intuitive and so easy to ride, these things feel magical when you first get out them, like they are defying the laws of nature and doing things they aren't suppose to be doing. After a few minutes a Segway feels so natural, like you've been riding them all your life, and it's easy to forget you are even on one and free to look around and enjoy the views. Unfortunately even though Segways are so simple to ride, some people occasionally end up on their faces. Probably because they panic or violate one of the most important rules of riding a Segway, never let the wheels touch anything. To do so virtually guarantees a face plant. But just pay attention to a few simple rules and Segways are remarkably safe. Segway Tours in Copenhagen is a very friendly and experienced place. They let you get use to the Segway in a parking lot and then a knowledgeable guide takes you out on a tour of the city. Safety is the primary consideration and the guide knows all the local attractions and tries to go on back streets whenever possible to avoid the traffic. They give you a helmet with a headphone in it and the guide describes things as you nerd along on the Segway. The sound quality of the headphones could definitely be improved but it's still possible to make out most of what the guide is saying. Time seems to fly by but you get a good perspective and feel of the city when it's over. Segways are far more intimate than a bus but much quicker than walking, a great compromise. After the tour we even got a free beer, can't beat that. Yeah, Segways look nerdy as hell, but are just so incredibly cool. Segway Tours is a great company that makes sure you experience the weirdness of a Segway while seeing and learning about Copenhagen. And they even make sure you don't get killed while doing it.
