One of the final pieces to moving into my new Soulard home was cleaning the windows. The previous owner clearly (window pun) did very little upkeep on the exterior of the home, so the windows were in really bad shape. At first we tried a do-it yourself Windex kit that attached to your hose. It took off the first layer of grime, but the windows were still very dirty. I logged on to Yelp to use the new get a quote feature! Searching for window cleaners, I found Matt Voss and LOVED that his business was called Vossome! THAT'S AWESOME. A few other window cleaners didn't respond, but Matt was very prompt with his communications. He was professional as well. We coordinated a time and a very reasonable price for service. He was upfront that our historic windows may cause an additional charge. Matt arrived at my home with his son to clean my window. They had all their own tools in their Vossome truck, and we went over the windows that needed to be washed. Then he got right to work! It only took them about 45 minutes to clean the 12 windows. Matt accepted cash, check or Venmo for payment. I loved the ease of being able to pay via Venmo. They left crystal clear windows! They did such a great job and were super friendly. Hi, I’m Matt. My wife, Julie, and I were recently married and have four kids between us. We met while volunteering at church, and I knew right away she was the one. Between Scouts, dance classes, running businesses, writing, and raising a family, life stays busy — but we still carve out time for reading, hiking, and staying active in church. My business philosophy is simple: earn referrals and repeat clients by showing up, working hard, and giving people what they want. That approach has grown my business year after year. One of my favorite parts of the job is feeding my brain while I work — usually with audiobooks. I’ll go through a few each week on everything from theology and philosophy to finance and family. I’m a lifelong learner, convinced that a day without learning is a day wasted. A mentor once told me: if you’re not moving forward, you’re moving backward. Self-employment: check. My goal is to soak up as much quality time with my kids as possible before they’re grown. Being my own boss means I get to be there when they step off the bus.

History

Established in 2005.

After relocating to St Louis, whereby leaving my long-standing career washing windows for the company my father built, I put my expertise into side work at first. By that logic, Vossome began in 2005, but it didn't actually have a name for many years after that. What started as just a side project on nights and weekends kept growing by word of mouth and has blossomed into what it is today. The fact that I washed my first window at about age 15 means there is enough experience to qualify me as an expert in the field, and many, many happy customers will back that up.

Meet the Business Owner: Matt V.

Matt started working for his father's window cleaning company beginning in high school, and after relocating to St Louis began washing windows on the side. Well wouldn't you know it, people got to talking about what a great job he was doing and the business kept growing. Years later, it got to where washing windows opposite a carpentry job wasn't cutting it anymore, so he, with much encouragement, left the security of carpentry and went work washing windows full-time. Alas, today he is doing what he loves: working hard and making people happy, all the while being able to be home in time to get his kids off the bus and spend real time doing his most important work: being a father.

Upon inspection discovered downspout was blocked with debris up to the gutter. Contract called for blow out of downspouts. It is clear that it was missed. Management took no responsibility. Our home was recently affected by the Northside "scourge" (aka house mold). Being that our house is 2 story with a walkout, I was in a pickle trying to figure out how I was going to get it cleaned (especially the top story). I've known of Matt's business for a while and heard that he was beginning to do power washing as well as window cleaning. I called up Matt thinking that my job would be small but possibly fit in with his other work. As it turns out, Vossome was out well before I would have expected and my house turned out FANTASTIC! Matt is fantastic! We move to St. Peters a few years ago and I needed someone I could trust that was affordable. I took a chance on Vossome Window Cleaning and I have never regretted it.
