Anyways, the food is fresh and absolutely delicious. We ordered a large English Breakfast and Eggs Benedict with bacon and 2 cappuccino's. It was 4am so it was nice to have the place to ourselves. Most of these rough reviews seem to focus on someone's unrealistic extraneous requests or expectations rather than the good things this place does. I was visiting London last month and suffering from jet lag. I stumbled upon this 24 hour restaurant, close to my hotel, extremely hungry. I like the vibe here. The service was friendly and it had a neighborhood pub feeling, even though its a restaurant. Chintali was my server and she was very pleasant and helpful The teriyaki salmon was cooked perfectly and the salad very fresh and crisp. Surprisingly, the smoothie was pretty much the star of the meal. I wasn't expecting a smoothie to be so delicious and refreshing. In the states, most smoothies don't integrate courgette (zucchini), but this one ingredient added a nice smoothness and depth to the smoothie. I found this place our first night in London. It was a couple of blocks from our flat and it caught my eye because it's open 24 hours. When the rest of my group arrived, we walked around looking for someplace that looked appealing for dinner and we had trouble agreeing on something, so this place won out. I got the pasta bolognese , my hubby got the penne arrabiata with chicken, my daughter got the eggs benedict and we had a salad to share. I hadn't eaten all day and both the bolognese and the salad were quite good. The salad had a unique dressing with a grainy mustard and really was the best salad I had in all of London. Our daughter loved the eggs benedict so much, she asked for it on several mornings during our trip. So we ended up ordering take away and I tried a variety of breakfast items. I learned in general that breakfast at most places in our neighborhood consisted of pastry items, maybe with some bacon or sausage. VQ Chelsea had more of what we would consider traditional breakfast items. The first day we ordered breakfast, I got an omelet with spinach, mushroom and swiss. It was a little bland and dry. Another day I ordered the breakfast wrap, which was definitely a step up. My favorite breakfast item was the spanish omelet. Very flavorful. Service was good for both eat in and take away. We were looking for a late-night bite to eat after a concert and tried VQ because it was open and close and served all-day breakfast. It's basically the London equivalent of a 24-7 diner, and like diners, some are really good and some aren't. The best thing we ordered was the side of hashbrowns, which were perfectly fried golden potato cakes shaped like triangles. I really wished we'd ordered two of those in the end. I ordered the eggs benedict with salmon and I added avocado. The hollandaise was hollandaise sauce was plentiful but made from a mix. The smoked salmon was thick and not all that fresh. My annoyance was the cover charge at night to come in and have dinner. I mean 2 pounds isn't the end of the world but geez you've attracted the ppl to come with a good reputation... They pay it so.i guess it's my American mindset... The bbq ribs were tender and the French fries were amazing (as any time in Europe you get French fries). I ordered a cocktail as well and it was nice to know they focused on the drink and loading the cup with ice and less drink. So many things done well. At 3:45 a.m. on January 1st I exited the Tube at South Kensington and embarked on a woozy twenty minute walk back to my Chelsea lodging. At 4 a.m. the overwhelmingly enticing scent of charbroiled burgers hit my nostrils, imbedding itself there for me to obsess over for the next 18 hours. Though VQ (as it is now called) was open at 4 a.m., I dared not stop for a number of reasons: First, I thought it prudent to get to bed. Second, I thought it imprudent to eat charbroiled burgers at 4 a.m. And third, there was a wall of people waiting to get in. At 4 a.m. Sure, it was now new year's day, but really. A line at 4 a.m.? Much later that day, when I finally went in search of food I stopped at the first place I saw. I still wanted that burger I'd smelled and there were no burgers on that menu where I was but I ate well and heartily. Still, you know when you're obsessed and the obsession won't abate? Or when you're hungover and need really fatty, rich food for satisfaction? This explains how I wound up back at VQ within 3 hours of dining nearby. It wasn't about hunger; it was about filling a need that could only be filled with one of those charbroiled burgers. And oh my, did VQ deliver. I don't actually believe that VQ's 6-ounce char-broiled cheeseburgers are all that but I do believe the burger I ate was all that. I'd be willing to call it one of the best burgers of my life even though I know that's the booze talking. But the fact that this place is open 24/7 means that they must get a lot of diners whose booze is doing the talking and for them, hey, it's burger time. The burger (£7.95 pounds) was basic and they charged me an additional £ (approximately $1.60) for the slices of raw onion which I requested. Man though; that thing was dee-lish. A side of extra crispy, piping hot sweet potato fries was a perfect accompaniment. Satisfaction was complete. VQ is, as mentioned, open all night. Tragically, late dining here comes at a ridonculously steep price. Between midnight and 6 a.m. there's a cover charge ranging from £1.50 - £2.50 per person depending on the night. This wouldn't be quite so offensive if they didn't also use this time to jack up their prices. The same burger I had at 9 p.m. goes from £7.95 up to £11.95 pounds between the hours of 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. For my dollar-friendly readers, that's a price increase of more than $7 for a six-ounce burger and gives me an additional reason to be glad I didn't chow here at 4 a.m. on new year's day. And a cover charge plus a price increase? Isn't that double dipping? Someone is trying (maybe) to make this all right. A current promotion advertises all food and drink at 50% off between the hours of 6 - 8 p.m. I'm going to assume that's 50% off the daytime prices though the promotion doesn't really make that clear. It might be worth it to get in at that time just to cut your losses in the event you waltz in drunkenly one night. If you do, don't say you weren't warned. The only reason I have ever ventured into the mysterious place that is Vingt-Quatre (24 in French for non-francophiles) is because I have been very hungry and very drunk and within walking (or cabbing) distance. I guess it goes with the posh-o address, but this 24 hour establishment acts like it's an exclusive nightclub- complete with doorman and velvet rope. So, to get your late night drunchie on, be prepared to stand in line with some rather rowdy and potentially Tarquin-esque people who might just say "I'm litrally in Burma." They will kick you out if you are too drunk and/or pass out, so bear that in mind when your new BFF from the club tags along then loses the ability to sit while you dine. Vingt Quatre - hard to guess - this venue is open 24/7. There is nothing worse having a good time out and ending up not having an after-club hangout/hangover. Yes you guess it - this place is perfect for letting the night end slowly. VQ is renown for a queue outside at 4 o'clock in the morning. At busy time a doorman has been hired to keep everything under control. The restaurant is surprisingly small and even at this time of hour always fully booked. Sometimes you have to wait for 20 minutes, but it's worth it. The burger menu with fries is my usual choice. But you also can have a full American breakfast! The last time I have been there, a Ferrari parked in front of the Vingt Quatre. We are clearly in Chelsea here. I've always enjoyed my early morning ventures to Vingt Quatre to indulge in some post night out food of pancakes and hot chocolate. I find it really amusing that as you stand queuing to get, you are watched over by some burley nightclub like door man. Once in, the atmosphere is absolutely buzzing. I love good breakfast food and VQ provides that. You can have muesli, porridge oats, eggs done in every way, and baps. I go straight for the American breakfast of buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup, mixed berries and bacon. That combination of pancakes and crispy bacon always excites my taste buds. Best breakfast in Chelsea? We had the English Breakfast. With one order of scrambled eggs on the side. The tomatos were icky and cold. The beans were almost cold and tasted like coming straight from a can. No spicing up, nothing. The portobello mushroom was cold and icky. No spicing up either. I asked what these scrambled eggs were made of? Cause these looked like puke. He explained these were made with cream. And it looked it was made with one egg? What country serves the amount of one egg as scrambled eggs??? He redid them for us without cream and they looked like made from a bottle with ready mix egg. I asked him how they made the scrambled eggs. Do you take real eggs and scramble them in the pan? His answer was they use Free Range eggs. I guess it was his way of admitting, that they use some icky ready mix. Because there was no seperation of white and yellow. All one color. Seriously, I have never seen a more distasteful scrambled eggs. We could absolutely not eat this. How much easier can it be, heating up some butter and throwing in some eggs. Then salt and pepper. Ready. How on earth can you serve such breakfast and tell us, we serve the best breakfast in Chelsea? I think we paid over 30 Pound for 2 breakfasts, jam and toast and two coffee. The cover is only £2.50, but just the principle of being charged to go to a glorified diner was more than I could handle. Don't waste your time or money I started with Halloumi Fries which were mozzarella fries glorified. I ordered a crayfish tail salad for my main dish and it was disappointment in a bowl. The crayfish dishonored from them cooking it so long to the point where it disintegrated in my mouth. The Asian dressing was vinegar at the bottom of a bowl. The cucumber was butchered and the alleged salad was huge and arguably entire leaves of lettuce in a bowl. After telling the manager (Rita), she simply took the plate away with not the first apology. I then ordered the Falafel Burger which was mashed, dried, chickpeas on a bun...moment of silence for that poor falafel patty. Perfect experience here! I had seen them pop up on yelp quite a few times now, since I live just up the road. Finally decided to take a walk and have breakfast here. For a Saturday morning, it wasn't very crowded. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and she let me sit anywhere. I ordered a black coffee, which was just an americano, as well as two Eggs Benedict with bacon. You are given the choice for one or two, and with ham or bacon. My coffee came promptly and while I sipped on the delicious drink, I entertained myself with some complimentary magazines they had by the door. I didn't wait long, my food came out about 10 minutes after my coffee did. It was DELICIOUS. The bacon was crispy, but not burnt and not soaked with grease. The egg was cooked perfectly, not overly runny but still very soft. There was quite a bit of hollandaise sauce on it, however, it was not too overwhelming. I finished the breakfast rather quickly but to my surprise, I found out that they give complementary refills on my coffee. So I say there and enjoyed my second cup and finished the magazine. A restaurant in Chelsea doing only american cuisine may sound weird but the VQ is a bit more than just that. They have plenty of different dishes including amazing posh breakfasts and eggs benedictine and good wine. Great stop in the middle of the night for a decent burger to soak up the alcohol in your body or for a nice bloody mary and a sandwich to keep on partying. It is open 24/7 so sunday night late suppers or early breakfasts require the place. It is not a cheap place but the food is of good quality and very tasty. The venue is modern and quite posh and the staff do their jobs as well as possible. Nice place to keep in mind but it gets quite busy for lunch and in the day time at week ends so visit it during the nights or in the afternoon for their good selection of teas read more

My girlfriend and I came to this place with my grown up son for some late night food and on arrival we were greeted by a bouncer behind a short piece of black greasy rope, as if this were the entrance to a night club in a bad part of town with violent clientele. From our first interchange, we were treated more like criminals than customers. He aggressively asked for ID. As we were just looking for some coffee, orange juice and burger, we were surprised. He then surlily explained that the place sold alcohol, thus requiring identification. We complied and he allowed us in with bad grace. The restaurant was empty of people, bar two other men, a manager and a lower functionary. We sat at a table and the manager brought menus. The bouncer stayed inside and the 3 loomed over our table and started giving us attitude about our order. I know readers of this review will imagine that somehow we provoked all this, but it came out of nowhere and when we asked them to lose the attitude because we just wanted to have breakfast, all 3 crowded menacingly round our table, the bouncer itching for an excuse to beat us. I reiterate we had done nothing to deserve this. I did use the word preposterous in respect of their behaviour - no less than the truth - which then caused the bouncer to hover me. Another 'preposterous' from me and I felt he would attack, although this was no more than an accurate description of our reception. If there is CCTV, all this will be confirmed. At this, we felt so threatened, we left. The bouncer wore thick sunglasses throughout, which one would have thought impeded his work as it was 3am. Bear in mind this is a restaurant, not visiting day at Wormwood Scrubs. We couldn't work out why on earth they behaved this way. It was if they were trying to get rid of us because there was something going down in the back! The really remarkable thing is that the place is in business at all. I love food and the fun of eating out and I have been going to restaurants all over the world for more than 40 years. I used to go to 'VQ' about 12 years ago when it was the place to be. Serves food and grog 24/7. I now can definitely say I will never take a step back into that 'restaurant'. I ventured back to this bacteria ridden place about a week ago with my girlfriend and as soon as I walked in I could smell a mixture of booze, cigarette smoke, BO and grease. A lot of grease. I ordered the 10oz steak, rare. The steak was out within 5 minutes. My girlfriend ordered the same, but well done. It came out as well in 5 minutes, well done. How can any sort of 'meat' or whatever the hell it is in there come out within 5 minutes when it's meant to be well done? I smell a rat. I took one bite of her steak to see what was up. The first thing that went through my head was 'how is this place still open?!' I am a head chef myself in a 5 star restaurant in Mayfair, and I can tell exactly how everything has been cooked. This steak was not grilled, as it is meant to be, it was bloody microwaved! I didn't wait out the front, in the cold, with a pushy 'wannabe' bouncer (probably couldn't get a job at a proper club!) with my girlfriend to her have a MICROWAVED STEAK. And don't get me started on the service. First off the bouncer at the front was a total knobhead. Then when we got in we were hardly greeted and rushed to our table. No smiles, no friendliness.
