Service was prompt, guinness was delicious, and the vibe was that of a pub! Great experience, will be back to try food!

This is actually the cutest and most authentic "Bar" you can possibly find when you drop out of your commuting train from Stansted Airport. It's a really small two story bar, cafe or whatever you want to call it but overall it's awesome. The waiters are really friendly and the dishes are amazing... that's what we were looking for after our short flight.. all thumps up ...

Really cute little diner-style restaurant in London. We stopped in really early in the morning since our sleep cycles were messed up from jetlag and it was one of the only things open. The food was excellent and the portions were hearty. We ordered two of the Mighty English Breakfast and everything on the plate was delicious. Offers free wifi, great service. They serve water by the bottle rather than tap.

This place saved us after another restaurant wouldn't let us in because we weren't dressed "smart casual," which honestly, still not sure what that means. This was the first English food after a long flight, and it was pretty good! Never had an English breakfast before, and this was a good first try!

I've come here twice now- in March 2023 and in May 2024, and it has been delicious both times. I got the vegetarian full english breakfast, which is so good and hearty, especially if you've got a full day of walking and sightseeing ahead of you. My favorite parts were the bubble and squeak- something I'd never even heard of before- and the buttery whole-grain toast with beans. The indulgent buttery taste of the toast goes so well with the slight acidity of the beans, which are much less sweet than the ones we have in the states. I also appreciate that they have a regular, veggie, and vegan option for this classic dish- my family has one of each. The overall vibe is cozy and eclectic, but definitely close quarters, and the service was very polite. The only negative I've heard was that my friend's Oreo pancakes weren't very good- but I did not try them to confirm ‍

This looks like fyre festival food but I swear it is not. For being open 24/7 this place truly puts the Great in Great British Cafe. Breakfast platter (poached eggs, bacon, hash brown) 5.47/10- had to be warmed up. Bacon was incredibly chewy. Eggs were a bit too runny but still good. The hash brown was great- tasted identical to McDonalds hash brown which is simply the best Croissant 7.68/10- delicious, huge, flaky on the outside but doughy on the inside but not too much of either or. Literally great Custard tart 9.34/10- this was actually fantastic. Tasted like creme brûlée inside a flaky puff pastry without the caramelized sugar on top which is my literal dream. Absolutely perfect. Hazelnut Chocolate cannoli 2.10/10- the actual outer shell of the cannoli was terrible, it was a bit dry and not flavorful. Only thing good about the cannoli was the inner Nutella stuffing, which they also marketed this as chocolate hazelnut when they could have just promoted it as Nutella

I was jet lagged so wide awake at 5am. This place was one of the few 24/7 place that had good reviews. Husband and I ordered the Mighty English Breakfast and greek yogurt. We shared both items. The yogurt had a bit too much syrup on there and the granola was a bit stale. The English breakfast was great! This is our first time. Hash browns were my favorite- crispy but soft on the inside. Bacon had that delicious salty taste and is way thicker than American bacon. The touch of basil was perfect! Highly recommend this dish or the English breakfast (smaller version). When you walk in, first floor is for take away orders. 2nd floor is for sitting in. Not sure what the 3rd floor is but I assumed the bar. Stairs are steep and narrow so those with mobility issues- heads up! Tables are close by so get comfy. Decor is super cute with vintage touches. Service was what we expected from this diner. Server was nice and brought out everything we needed. Wished he came back to check up on us at some point though. We walked up to the counter to pay. Would come back since they're 24/7.

When I was visiting London this became me go to stop. It's open 24 hours so it was good for breakfast, lunch and a midnight snack. During the late night hours there can be a line outside. They also require you to pay for your meal before you receive the food late night. But in the daytime the service is normal.

Went here because the restaurant we were planning to go to somehow ran out of food, and we were dead set on getting pancakes. So maybe this review is a tad biased. First of all, the plating concept is cute, but a tad impractical for the eating of pancakes. We accidentally spilled our maple syrup due to its precarious placement. The pancakes took like 25 minutes and were lukewarm when they arrived :( Overall not super great, a little over cooked. And maple syrup is extra. However, the cappuccino was good and the berries were very fresh! Decent for a 24 hour restaurant, but there are better places for pancakes.

Very nice staff and good prices considering we're in London. I got a pulled pork sandwich which came less hot than I would've liked however the wait wasn't long and it tasted very good. The lemonade I got was the perfect amount of sour and sweet. Definitely recommend.

I came here for a decent breakfast before heading into work. It is such a convenience that this place is open 24 hours. In the early morning, as the commuters stray to roll in to The City, you'd find a fairly quiet corner in the upstairs seating, which was where I had my English breakfast. The toast was a considerable highlight to this experience, rich and buttery, crispy. The baked beans were average, straight-out-the-can. The bacon is cooked well with no complaints. Overall, the meal was satisfying, and kept me fed for the whole day. Prompt service, friendly. Will come again.

A great place to have English breakfast. Try their Mighty English Breakfast. The orange juice was natural and fresh. The service was nice and timely. We enjoyed our visit.

I feel like all my friends who've been to London have come back talking about this place, and I'm happy to join their ranks. Dishoom was also one of a handful of dining options recommended by my hotel concierge for a party of 11, including kids. Booking was easy, via SevenRooms, no phone calls or emails necessary. It's a large restaurant, and part of a popular chain--I guess they have things figured out. The space was great, open and casual, exposed ceilings and eclectic decor. Lots of fans, which my three-year-old appreciated. Service was friendly and attentive. I started my lunch with a drink, a refreshing green India Gimlet, gin and Rose's lime with celery bitters and fresh dill. I also tried and liked a sip of the New Permit Room Old-Fashioned, a slightly sweet cocktail with coconut-washed bourbon, Pedo Ximénez sherry, and Medjool date liqueur. There was only one menu available for a party of our size, a pre-set family-style group feast for eight adults, to which we added a pre-ordered platter of lamb chops. I loved the variety of dishes that came with this meal, and every one of them was ridiculously delicious. (There was less available for the three small American children, but they loaded up on hotel breakfast and snacked on naan and colorful puffed crackers.) The first round brought trays loaded with keema pau, okra fries, and bhel, along with lime, cilantro, and sauces for serving. The keema pau was incredible, probably my favorite dish of our lunch, if in part because it was 100% new to me. It was a spicy, aromatic blend of minced lamb and peas with dill and lindi pepper, served with toasted, buttered buns to make little sliders. So much flavor, it almost explained, by itself, why the British could never leave India alone. The okra fries were warm and crispy, and I loved the bhel, a crunchy snack of puffed rice, peanuts, and Bombay Mix tossed with pomegranate, tomato, onion, lime, tamarind, and mint. The main course was another giant spread: chicken ruby, house black daal, awadhi jackfruit biryani, and chilled broccoli salad, plus our charred lamb chops, with sides of roti, naan, and raita. The chicken ruby was the highlight here, a fragrant, comforting curry with tender chicken in a buttery makhani sauce. The house black daal is a Dishoom signature, and it was lovely, cooked for over 24 hours. The biryani was fluffy and nice, studded with jackfruit, barberries, and sultanas. The broccoli salad was a fresh hit of green, enhanced with pistachio, mint, red chillies, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, dates, and lime. The lamb chops made for a hearty entrée with a lot of flavor, the lamb marinated, grilled, and finished with Kashmiri chilli sauce. The thin, griddled roomali roti and the fresh-baked naan were both great accompaniments, as was the minty, cucumbery raita. For dessert, we had a choice of kulfi, creamy ice pops available in mango, pistachio, or malai, the original flavor touched with caramel. All three were superb, so cold and milk, easy to throw down the hatch. This was, it turned out, an enormous feast, but everything was so delicious and well balanced that I didn't notice how much I was eating until I got up. I was still full several hours later, when we went to dinner. If you want to eat Indian food in London, you should definitely find your nearest Dishoom. It's a wonderful restaurant, with top-notch food and no hassle. I certainly intend to go again.

First, I started with the mango lassi which was so fresh and naturally sweet. I loved the fennel seeds on top for added flavor. Such a great start to the meal. My favorites of the night were the chicken ruby (a must order and crowd pleaser), lamb biryani, and black daal. The chilli chicken was also a super flavorful app to share and the garlic naan was great as well. Everything is nicely flavored and I appreciate how patient and understanding the staff were with the food allergies and restrictions our group had. Definitely a must in London!

The waiters were nice but the food was not the best. I got a scrambled egg on toast with smoked salmon & the salmon had a fishy smell to it, was flavorless and there was barely any hot sauce available. My friend also thought her burger was just okay as well with the biggest positive point being the bacon. That being said, the fried dough balls dipped in chocolate were really great and so were the holiday specials for alcoholic drinks. While the inside was spacious and retro and had a cool vibe, I have to knock down points for the actual food itself and wish that I had kept the memory of how much I enjoyed this place pre Covid as that since I wouldn't make my way out to this restaurant again even if I'm in the area.

I was most disappointed in the beans. They were heavily seasoned in some kind of curry, when all I wanted was normal English beans. The food wasn't terrible, I was simply expecting better quality.

The lovely chef/gentleman working behind the counter in 34 degree heat talked me through the options. I went for the Veg Thai green curry with rice and a beef steak (in some delicious sauce and Parmesan). The Thai green curry had unbelievable depth of flavour - actually rivalling many Thai restaurants in my opinion. The beef steak. So flipping soft. HOW!? Simply blown away. I don't really know what else to say to be honest. So much love and care has gone into this food - you can really tell - I'm serious. I've been looking forward to visiting Duck & Waffle for quite some time. The views are incredible,…read morethe space itself is striking, and on paper it promises that perfect London mix of skyline, late-night energy, and elevated comfort food. Unfortunately, our experience was soured before it even had a chance to begin. My girlfriend and I walked in excited, completely amicable, simply hoping to head upstairs for a bite and drinks. We were greeted by the doorman with an immediate, dismissive "Are you good?" -- not in a welcoming or helpful tone, but in a way that felt skeptical and unnecessarily confrontational. There was no warmth, no "welcome in," no attempt at hospitality. It immediately set an uncomfortable tone. He then proceeded to call upstairs as though he were doing us some sort of favor just by allowing us to go up. The entire interaction felt transactional and judgmental rather than gracious. First impressions matter, especially at a place that positions itself as a premium dining destination. Hospitality begins at the door, not at the table. When we finally made it upstairs, the room was filled with visibly drunk, rowdy groups -- which only made the earlier attitude feel even more misplaced. If that environment is acceptable (and profitable), then two polite guests looking for drinks and food shouldn't be met with suspicion at the entrance. By that point, the damage was done. The initial interaction had already rubbed us the wrong way, and the energy upstairs didn't help. We ultimately decided to leave before even sitting at our table. That's how strongly the first impression impacted us. It's difficult to justify staying somewhere when you don't feel genuinely welcomed from the outset. Duck & Waffle has the potential to be memorable for all the right reasons. But someone representing the brand at the very front needs to understand that hospitality isn't optional -- it's foundational. A simple, respectful welcome would have changed everything. I hope management takes this seriously, because no guest should feel judged or dismissed before they even step inside.
