I've been going here for over 13 years. They are good at what they do. I walk in when I need a cut and Regina has been doing my hair for years. She is experienced and has been doing hair for 40 years. If I happen to come in when she is off the others working there gladly welcome me in. They know what they are doing and do a professional job. Reading some of these bad reviews compelled me to review this place. Typically if people have a good experience like they expected they are not rushing to post a review. If you didn't like your haircut or the conversation then move on. No need to get personal and make up stuff. Just go to Great Clips or Pet Smart next time. Another reason I like this place is that I can just walk in and if need be wait a little while before they can get to me. You don't have to have an App and make a reservation on an App nor set up an account or join their marketing club. Prices are more than fair. read more

this is the worst barbershop to go to in Scottsdale. I went. They don't know how to cut curly hair after saying all their barbers can cut curly hair they lied to my face so I tried this place out I just moved from Florida and there's good barbers there and but this guy didn't even line me up. He's horrible and when I got there he's like oh I have another client in 15 minutes. I don't know if I'm gonna be able to finish your cut what is that supposed to mean and like everyone is just like weird and they're overpriced as hell they charge me $20 to align my goat tee which was barely even there and it's just such a waste of money definitely go to downtown to the real barbers not this fake ass barbershop. this place isn't lucky that I stood up and walked out of the barbershop after he cut my hair because straight garbage. read more

Decided to give this place a second chance after our first bad experience, but NEVER AGAIN. I think they try to compete against each other for the fastest haircut and we were sadly one of the guinea pigs. My haircut is pretty standard, taper cut on the sides and back. My hair is semi-curly so the top needs a good trim to keep it from being unruly. I don't think the barber spent even one minute on the top, then added some gel for "definition". My hair should ideally be about 1-1/2" on top with a fresh cut. Instead it is 1" in some spots, 3" in others. My family says it doesn't even look like a haircut was done, PERIOD! Then to make it worse, I made a reservation and the cost was clearly $35, but he charged me $40 when I was there. I asked him about that and his only response was "SOORRRRYY!" read more

I would not recommend going here, EVER. All of these negative reviews are the evidence you need to make your decision here. My dad & I used to come here regularly when we lived here. We moved away for some years and are back now. I have a big wedding coming up and trusted that Eduard could do a great job like I remembered so many years ago. Wow, was I just disappointed. I just barely left, and upon getting into my car I waved my hand through my hair to find a Hand Full of Loose Hair from the back of my head, along with uneven lengths on each side. Shocked, I went back inside for a blow dry or some kind of remedy. He came out from the back and scoffed at me, surprised that I was unhappy. Well, guess what Ed, this is why my family and our community stopped coming here. Because of your lack of patience and skill. Not to mention the completely unprofessional attitude. Having been a long time customer of V's (Kierland), I was pretty surprised/stunned at the butcher job of a haircut that I received at this location. I am constantly warned by my regular barber (on vacation), that most barbers DO NOT know how to cut long hair. Boy, were his words prophetic. I was crystal clear with Regina before I sat down, that 1), I don't like short hair, and 2) to leave it long enough to cover the tops of my ear. She did neither, and I told her so in very blunt terms. She did a terrible job of drying my hair as well, and then combing it out. She actually asked me if she wanted my hair blown dry?? Huh?? I wasn't going to walk out wet?!? Please beware before getting a cut here, that you are crystal clear about what you want, and do not sit in Regina's chair. I guess what really surprised me, was that she kept defending her poor work. She just could not see, more likely refused to see how poorly she performed. read more

My nephew and sister who live in Surprise drove all the way to Desert Ridge for my nephew's haircut. My nephew did his research and found that the reviews at this location were great and made an appointment with Regina. When my family arrived both Regina and the male barber were rude, disrespectful, and dismissive. Regina did not even see my nephew and told the male barber to work with him. My nephew was trying to explain the haircut he wanted and my nephew is 13 and the male barber was rude and said you clearly don't know what you want. It is unbelievable that individuals would treat people a certain way when they should be all about customer service. My family ended up leaving and made the hour drive back. My boyfriend went in today for a low taper fade and had an older lady cut his hair. She was extremely rude, made multiple ignorant comments and insulted the haircut he wanted. After my boyfriend showed her pictures that Andy, another barber there did last time, she made it clear she wasn't capable of finishing his hair cut even though "she had been cutting hair for 48 years". She made him pay for his haircut before Andy was able to actually complete it knowing she had messed up. She exclaimed to the whole barber shop that Andy needed to fix it because "he wants his hairline halfway up his head". Andy, then had to fix the mistakes she made and finish the haircut. (She's an older woman, has black hair and wears glasses) I'd highly recommend staying away from her if you want an enjoyable experience. read more

Do NOT go here. Unbelievable. My son got his haircut at the Desert Ridge location on Friday by Eduard and it's sooo uneven. He's 9, he sits perfectly still, there is no excuse for this. When he left the barbershop on Friday, the barber completely plastered it with hair gel so we didn't realize how uneven it was. So I left work early Tuesday to take him to get it fixed as the hours Online say open til 6pm. The door has a paper sign that says open until 5pm, well we arrived at 4:30 to a locked door. She (maybe Regina) came out and told us they close at 5 but lock their doors at 4:30. I said fine but can you please just quickly straighten out the front of his hair as it is clearly SO uneven. She said no but that I could come back tomorrow. How she could turn us away and not fix this problem! And it was still within their posted open hours. There's also so much hair on the back of his neck that should have been clean shaven. See pics. We will never go back here and I'd advise you don't go either. I was in town for a conference, and was looking pretty scruffy. I needed to find a place to quickly take care of me and in a hurry. I went with the Standard cut shave and massage. The cut was good and the entire experience was what I expected, and the value wasn't too bad. The guy was a nice gentleman from New York that came for some nicer weather. You can't blame him! I've been going to the shop for about eight years. I give them two stars instead of one because I do like Oksana. However her husband/owner is rude and offputting as reviews here suggest. After my most recent conversation with him trying to establish a time to come in I have decided I don't want to speak with him anymore and I'm going to pursue another shop. I now live in San Diego but had a terrible experience at this shop many years ago. My son was 14 years old, in 8th grade at middle school, very athletic, tall - 6 ft. , muscular, and had developed acne. Upon paying for him, the owner refused to accept that he was under the age of 15 which at the time was just 6$ under the adult cut. The owner made a scene at the front counter commenting there was no way my son was 14 saying my was so tall and had "spots" (acne"). My son was so embarrassed. I payed the bill for the adult cut just to get out of there. I returned the next day with a copy of my son's middle school ID and the owner just scoffed. I also advised all of my friends in the local PTO to not take their children there as the owner was so outlandishly full of himself. All of this for 6 dollars? Went in for a beard from. Had an appointment but the person I scheduled with wasn't there. Instead I was rushed to a chair. I showed the barber a photo of what I'm trying to do with me beard. She looked at it quickly and proceeded to disregard it as she shortened and changed the shape of my beard. When I got home i noticed that she missed places on the sides that I could not see when she quickly held up a mirror. The entire process took maybe 5 minutes. I could have done a much better job myself. I won't be back to V's. It used to be a good shop. Just a factory now. Get 'em in and rush 'em out. Too bad. Re: social distancing - when I first arrived the barber who met me at the door wasn't wearing a mask. When I left there was a bottle of "Purell " hand sanitizer.l on the counter. I dispensed a small amount to sanitize my hands only to find it wasn't Purell at all. Instead it was some sweet smelling concoction that had been transferred to a Purell bottle.
