They then made an announcement that we were to get off the plane, but that a bus was waiting to take us to Florence. We all departed and got our bags. There were some workers who called all of us over, and lead us through the airport. They told us to wait there and the bus would pick us up in 30 minutes. We even got a boarding pass on the TAP app for the bus. Thirty minutes go by, then an hour. All of the workers at this point have left. So it is just our plane waiting in the airport for a bus that they told us was coming. Eventually an airport worker shows up and tells us there is no bus. He is not of much help due to the fact that he didn't work for air Portugal. It is around 2 am at this point. He told us we could get a hotel and that Air Portugal would PROBABLY reimburse us, but he did not know for sure since he didn't work for them. We ended up staying the whole night in the airport and rented a car the next morning to drive ourselves to Florence. We never received any communication from TAP Air Portugal regarding alternate transportation, accommodation, or what happened to the mysterious bus they told us was coming. I understand that they cannot control the weather. But to lie to an entire plane full of people and say that there is a bus waiting for us, lead us to wait for said bus, send us a new boarding pass, and then not have any communication when the bus never came is insane. We could have arranged alternate transportation ourselves earlier or at least went to a hotel at a decent hour (not 2 am when the airport worker finally came and found us).

When buying a ticket they sure make a big deal about a lounge, but the reality is different. It doesn't matter if a lounge is an amenity optionally provided. It doesn't matter if the airport is under construction. If a ticket was sold with lounge access, the airlines needs to provide it or give a serious refund in cash.

RYAN AIRLINES damaged my suitcase 12 weeks ago. I have been in hell trying to get them to pay for…read morethe damage and instead of just issuing a credit like a normal airline, they have made me jump through hoops. They wanted all the pertinent information, which I supplied. NO RESPONSE EXCEPT A SYSYTEM GENERATED EMAIL AND THEN NO RESPONSE FOR 3 WEEKS. TRY to call them, nothing. I received an email stating that they were going to honor the claim, but not for the full amount of the luggage that was damaged. The amount of the damaged luggage was $435.00 and they have offered me €50 and told me that is all they were going to pay. I have tried to collect the money as a principle matter but they wanted a copy of passport which they have had since this all started. No reposes again. THIS AIRLINE IS A JOKE AND A TOTAL SHIT SHOW. PLEASE DO NOT EVER USE THIS AIRLINE....... AND THERE IS ALWAYS A CASH GRAB HERE. Try to find another airline who actually value their clients......... IF I could give this airline a negative review I would. I HOPE THE PRESIDENT OF THIS SHITHOLE AIRLINE READS THE REVIEWS AND MAKE SOME CHANGES TO IMPROVE THIS BUT I DOUBT IT. SOON YOU WILL BE JUST LIKE SPIRIT AIRLINES............GONE AND TRULY FORGOTTEN. AGAIN, DO NOT FLY THIS AIRLINE...........

We had to drop off our bags and that was painful. There was a long line and it's self service. We had an issue because apparently you need to use their app for this process. We eventually flagged down one of the workers to help us. In the boarding area, they start scanning tickets as the previous passengers are deboarding. As in the plane isn't ready and they make you wait and stand in a holding area. What's the point in that...? Overall, it was a far from great experience.

Fortunately, I am a seasoned traveler and knew what terminal and gate to head to. Others who were less experienced might have had some trouble. I knew it was going to be bad when I got to go down an escalator to the waiting area. Oh, good. Another bus transfer stupid. What is it with MAJOR European airports and their insufficient quantity of jetbridges? This isn't some regional jet - me and nearly 150 fellow travelers got to board one of two buses for a swaying drive out to the stand where we climbed up a flight of stairs to our plane. WTF, Air France. Rome is allegedly one of Europe's greatest cities. Why doesn't Air France have enough jetbridges? On the positive side, I arrived in Paris safely. I had a sandwich and a drink on board (skip the red wine, it was awful) and my seat was reasonably comfortable for a 90 minute flight. [Review 12851 overall, 166 of 2020.]

The monster 767 appeared to be relatively new equipment as it was very noticeably clean. As we passed through First Class, we were quite impressed, but we weren't in it. The flight attendants were excellent. While we were fed multiple times during the flight (The food and drink carts came by so many times, we lost track.) the food was airline typical and awful. Ah, memories of exceptional eating in Italy/Sicily! But, as I always say, the most important was accomplished -- a smooth, save flight.
