A small 330g loaf for CHF 4.80. You better buy two since one will be devoured before you make it back to the hotel. Verzascabrot AKA Urdinkel Maggia, a very rustic sour dough bread from Ticino Switzerland with an extremely crisp crust, and large holes throughout. Extremely chewy and very flavorful. The flavor of the yeast and the time given to ferment the dough apparent. Mild salinity. Perfect paired with some air dried Swiss beef and pickles. 500g for 7.00 CHF, a bargain. (Sorry no pics, the crust is so hard and the bread chewy it literally self destructed when I finally managed to pull it apart). Note: They also offer take away sandwiches made on their amazing breads. None sampled. German and English spoken. Very friendly counter service.
