Brown County Country Club (BC3) is nestled in the woods just a couple miles from downtown…read moreNashville, Indiana. I visited there on 11/7/15 for a friend's private event and I loved it! When you drive up, first you notice a massive amount of green land with trees bordering the property. There's a 100 acres of land, so there's plenty of green space. Down the drive, there's a parking lot next to their main building. There's space for 30-40 cars, at the very least. Walking into the building, if you look to your right at sunset (when we arrived), you'll catch a brilliant sunset past the trees. It's a wonderful time to be in nature! Once you walk down the path and into the venue, allow your eyes to soak up the cozy warmth of the wooden walls, bar, and floor. This is a lovely place! Right when you walk in there is a bar to the right and then space for around 4-5 round tables and some counters/long table space for food. Keep walking and you'll have three amazing bathrooms to your left. I know, right? How strange is it to be in love with a venue's bathrooms, but you'll know when you see it. The bathroom doors are set to slide open along the wall, and are all made of re-purposed wood from a Brown County auction (thanks to one of the owners' family members explaining this to me!). The bathroom interiors are all bright colors and nothing is gender specific. Also, it's eco-friendly! The sink water fills up the toilet tanks and there are dozens of white towels & a laundry basket. There's a larger gathering place that can fit around 7-8 round tables in the next room, and past this is a door leading to the outside. They allow bonfires, woohoo! Beautiful. Also, the land is so far away from Bloomington and Indianapolis, that there's no light pollution ruining the night sky. On a clear night, there are dozens of sparkling stars. Camping may even be allowed (it was at this event) and there's plenty of space. They have space for disc golf as well. Overall, I loved the place. I hope to attend future events at this venue. This is a family-owned property and it's the perfect addition to the Nashville/southern Indiana community!

The park has a decent sized private parking lot and is well maintained. The park is home to a very nice disc golf course, BYOD (Bring your own disc) though. The park has three small to medium sized shelters with picnic tables under it and grills just outside of them. There is also a half decent full basketball court. It is not in the best shape, but it will do. The park does not have a restroom facility, but there is a porta-potty near the parking lot that you could use in a pinch. The park has a lot of good green space that could be used to play soccer, play catch, play football, fly a kite, have a picnic or do other field activities. The park is home to a nice metal gazebo that serves as the Lapel Veterans Memorial. The park's paved trail, that goes alongs its outer perimeter is very nice. It does not get a lot of traffic and is wide-open. The splash pad is pretty basic, but considering that it is in a small town and probably the only one within many miles, it will do. I like the little bench on the outside of it, where parents/guardians can sit and watch their littles. The playground is on a bed of wood chips. It has a bank of traditional/toddler swings, a medium sized jungle gym with a net climber, a metal sliding board (Ouuuch), and a small jungle gym with a few slides and a tunnel. There are benches on the playgrounds perimeter that look onto the playground, where parents can sit and watch their littles. I will admit, this is not a destination park, but is a cool place to visit if you are in the area looking for a place to hang out. It was a nice day during my visit and I found the park very peaceful.

A paved trail loops around the outside of the park which provides easy access to the parking area on the east side of the park. There are shelters, a disc golf course (9 holes), a playground, basketball courts, a splash park, and a gazebo with names of military personnel engraved in the cement. A small memorial garden is also on site, but most of the shrubbery in the park is in need of trimming. Review #1157

Well this man doesn't. He made sure we didn't need anything and we didn't see him again till the next evening. The was awesome! His staff is super friendly also. We didn't get the omg another boring campground feeling from this place. There is a lot to do and we could only fit a quarter of it in on that short of a stay. There are Porta potty's out there and they are the cleanest ones I have ever been in. There is also another small shelter located next to the basketball court, with picnic tables under it. The park's playground area is large and has a rock climbing wall, a track ride, a bank of traditional swings, a hold and spin, a jungle gym climber, a see-saw, a horse rocker, a four seat teeter totter, and a medium sized jungle gym with bridges, slides and a pebble bridge. The equipment is serviceable, but looks pretty worn and dated. There is a decent amount of green space here at the park, however the majority of it is on or down a steep hill. I can imagine that area is very susceptible to flooding after a heavy rain. This park is ok. It is definitely not a destination park and could surely use some renovations. It is not horrible though and does have some value. It just would not be my first park to go to. However, if I was in the area and just wanted a quick and easy playground then I would have no issue of going here.
