As a business owner myself, I believe in taking care of customers and honoring commitments. If I have to do the job myself, I do it--I don't cancel on clients who are depending on me. The phone conversation felt rushed, and it seemed like she was trying to get me off the phone as quickly as possible, which I found annoying. However, Zach came out later that same day for the estimate, and he completely changed my impression. He was professional, honest, hardworking, and got straight to the point. It was 92 degrees outside, and I genuinely felt for the guy working in that heat. He provided a fair estimate, scheduled the work for the next day at 1 PM, and then actually arrived two hours early. The quality of the work was outstanding--top-notch service. My brother is an electrical engineer, so I have a decent understanding of electrical work, but he lives far away. The coordinator had their plumber Spencer call me to see if I had any questions after our initial call. I initially brought in another company for an estimate but called Spencer back for a fact check to verify the first company's pricing. Spencer was able to respond immediately with what Leak Geek's pricing would be for the same pricing and said they could get out there within about an hour. I ended up hiring Leak Geeks, and Spencer got here within about 30 minutes of being dispatched. He did a great job identifying where the leak was coming from. It was a worse case than I had hoped for, but he found it. He cut and capped the line so I could still use the rest of the water in the house while the drywall was being remediated and the eventual repairs could be made. He referred a remediation company, American Water Damage, who had an estimator come out, again within about an hour, provide an estimate, and get a remediation tech to come out to move a basin, cut open the upstairs wall, and place fans and a dehumidifier. The Facts: Unpermitted Work: I confirmed with the City of McKinney that C&E applied for a plumbing permit for our structural tunneling/repair on 11/04/2025 but cancelled the permit on 11/18/2025 to bypass the required city inspection. Negligent Workmanship: An independent 3rd-party plumber inspected the line and found a broken flange and wax ring debris inside the pipe--direct evidence of a failed toilet reset. The workmanship was described as "obscene." Warranty Refusal: Despite being under warranty, the company proposed a major slab repair (jackhammering) but explicitly refused to provide a warranty for the "new" work. A formal complaint has been filed with the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners (TSBPE) for a full investigation into their licensing and professional conduct. Please be cautious before hiring this company for major plumbing or tunneling work.
