After reading reviews, I knew my decision wasn't really about the price--I was planning to hire Top Tech anyway. What disappointed me was that the estimate appointment had to be canceled that day, and I was even more frustrated by the interaction with the lady on the phone. As a business owner myself, I believe in taking care of customers and honoring commitments. If I have to do the job myself, I do it--I don't cancel on clients who are depending on me. The phone conversation felt rushed, and it seemed like she was trying to get me off the phone as quickly as possible, which I found annoying. However, Zach came out later that same day for the estimate, and he completely changed my impression. He was professional, honest, hardworking, and got straight to the point. It was 92 degrees outside, and I genuinely felt for the guy working in that heat. He provided a fair estimate, scheduled the work for the next day at 1 PM, and then actually arrived two hours early. The quality of the work was outstanding--top-notch service. My brother is an electrical engineer, so I have a decent understanding of electrical work, but he lives far away. I still have a lot more projects to complete around my house, and I will definitely be calling Top Tech again. When I do, I'll be requesting Zach specifically. Highly recommended.

They don't use the info you put into the request, so you have to tell them everything all over again. After that, just hope you're the tech's first call of the day. Otherwise they won't show up until they finish their previous jobs, if they show up at all.

The coordinator had their plumber Spencer call me to see if I had any questions after our initial call. I initially brought in another company for an estimate but called Spencer back for a fact check to verify the first company's pricing. Spencer was able to respond immediately with what Leak Geek's pricing would be for the same pricing and said they could get out there within about an hour. I ended up hiring Leak Geeks, and Spencer got here within about 30 minutes of being dispatched. He did a great job identifying where the leak was coming from. It was a worse case than I had hoped for, but he found it. He cut and capped the line so I could still use the rest of the water in the house while the drywall was being remediated and the eventual repairs could be made. He referred a remediation company, American Water Damage, who had an estimator come out, again within about an hour, provide an estimate, and get a remediation tech to come out to move a basin, cut open the upstairs wall, and place fans and a dehumidifier. I'm impressed and relieved that they could get all of this done in the same day. Spencer was friendly and professional throughout. I couldn't have asked for more (except for the leak to not have happened in the first place).2

I had a very frustrating and concerning experience with this company regarding a slab leak…read more Initially, Ed determined we had a slab leak but could not find the exact location. He told us we needed a leak detection specialist and recommended their specialist, Blake, so we scheduled the appointment through Ed's company. Blake came out about four separate times on different days with various pieces of equipment. While he replaced a few valves in different areas, he was completely unable to locate the actual leak. What surprised us most was the invoicing and complete lack of transparency. Blake handed us a bill from a completely different entity called "Advanced Mechanical & Waterworks." We had no idea he was a third-party subcontractor. To make matters worse, his invoice lacked a physical business address and a plumbing license number. When we looked up the company, they had zero official web footprint--only a Facebook page with reviews dating back just three months. The most frustrating part is that during their initial visits, we explicitly pointed both Ed and Blake to a noticeable warm spot on our laundry room floor (which sits adjacent to the garage water heater closet). They ignored this crucial clue.We finally called a different plumbing company. Their plumber independently turned off our water heaters to track movement at the meter, localized the leak in less than an hour, and successfully tunneled under the laundry room to fix it. I cannot recommend a company that fails at basic diagnostics, ignores customer input, and sends unvetted, poorly documented subcontractors to your home.

They spent the next 3-4 hour bashing my cast iron sewage line with a sewer clean out tool. They said they would have to tunnel to get the ball out. They returned the next day to excavate. They sent the same plumbers to excavate and not hire a professional dig crew. They let me know they would dig under my foundation footer, instead they chiseled through my footer with a jack hammer and cut the rebar doing permanent damage to my foundation (this was affirmed by multiple plumbers, foundation repair companies Ava a stuctual engineer). They tunneled a few feet underneath my foundation. They told me they removed the ball. I didn't trust their work so I had another company come out to run a camera. They never removed the ball and instead left a large hole stuffed with a rag so water could escape. I gave videos and photos to Vance Tim (North hills operations manager). He refused to take responsibility for what his employees did and instead demanded i pay for all the shoddy work they did. It costs me 1000s of dollars to fix damage they did to my home. All other contractors were totally baffled by what they did. Vance Tim threatened to sue me if i left a bad review.
