These guys use AI to respond to inquiries really fast and efficiently so they can try to claim the lead, which they do well. It's a pain in the arse to get scheduled. They don't use the info you put into the request, so you have to tell them everything all over again. After that, just hope you're the tech's first call of the day. The name says it all. I was a bit disappointed at first. I had scheduled an appointment for an estimate, although, to be fair, I already had a good idea of what the work would cost. After reading reviews, I knew my decision wasn't really about the price--I was planning to hire Top Tech anyway. What disappointed me was that the estimate appointment had to be canceled that day, and I was even more frustrated by the interaction with the lady on the phone. As a business owner myself, I believe in taking care of customers and honoring commitments. If I have to do the job myself, I do it--I don't cancel on clients who are depending on me. The phone conversation felt rushed, and it seemed like she was trying to get me off the phone as quickly as possible, which I found annoying. However, Zach came out later that same day for the estimate, and he completely changed my impression. He was professional, honest, hardworking, and got straight to the point. It was 92 degrees outside, and I genuinely felt for the guy working in that heat. He provided a fair estimate, scheduled the work for the next day at 1 PM, and then actually arrived two hours early. The quality of the work was outstanding--top-notch service. My brother is an electrical engineer, so I have a decent understanding of electrical work, but he lives far away. I still have a lot more projects to complete around my house, and I will definitely be calling Top Tech again. When I do, I'll be requesting Zach specifically. Highly recommended. read more

Not sure what a dishwasher connection hose would be $400 I complained about the price of the hose and the the damage their plumbers did .. Their management called and said they'll refund me.... They responded quickly to an issue I recently started having with an electrical outlet on my front porch. Sent out Alex within a couple hours the same day I reached out. Alex was very courteous, asked me what the problem was and I told him my own troubleshooting methods where I was unable to figure out the problem. Within a few minutes Alex figured out what the problem was. He reset a gfci outlet in my garage I had no idea was related to the problem on the front porch. Problem fixed. Here's the most amazing part, he did not charge me since the fix was so simple. I know most every company would have charged some sort of service fee just for coming out but he did not. I don't have electrical issues that often, really this is the first I can remember in my 10+ years of living in our house, but if I do, I will call Top Tech. read more

I was optimistic that TopTech would be a good vendor to install a single outlet in my garage. I got a call from their AI scheduler the second I hit submit on Yelp, and the virtual AI scheduler was the best, most efficient appointment scheduler I've used in recent memory. (It doesn't disclose it's AI, though, which is a violation of Texas regs.) Things went downhill from there. They didn't show up on that same-day appointment saying they got busy. They then said they could come out the next day but couldn't give me a time window. So I scheduled a window for today, and they texted me this morning saying there wasn't a window for today even through there was at which point they said oh yes, we'll be there after noon and a tech will call. I came home early from work (again) to meet them. I got a call at 5:20 saying they got busy again and wouldn't be able to make it. What a waste of time!!! read more

We had a leak in outside hose spicket, A tech came out looked at it, came in out house and said there was water in the walls (though we didn't see any water) and he would have to tear a hole in the walls. That was after 3 minutes. It seemed sketchy so we called our builder and asked for a referral. New company came out replaced the spicket, sealed it, said there was no water in the walls. My pipes froze in January 2026. I had used TopTech for plumbing before when I got a quote from them far below another plumbing company's, so went with them. They seemed to do good work. But this time?! They tried to rob me blind, it seems. They used the urgency of the situation to attempt to sell me an entirely new house. Quoted me $17,000 to replace everything including the water heater, which did not need replacing. When I, a senior citizen on a fixed income, blanched at that grifting attempt, they pared it down to $8,000, admitting it was not going to be the lowest cost, but they were a big company with lots of trucks to maintain, so the cost was justified. (What happened to economies of scale?) I foolishly gave them the go ahead. After the work was completed (and I really would have appreciated before and after pictures to make sure all this mystical work they said they did actually got done properly, but none were offered,) in my deepest, darkest crawlspace, I finally saw the invoice after they were long gone. There were mistakes they charged me for. Like part of the "new house" plan they didn't do they still charged me for. If I hadn't caught it, they would have happily accepted my payment for. Like charging me $619 for the city's $50 permit. When I complained, they knocked some off the bill. What I don't know, and I want to caution others against, is how much they overcharged me on the non-itemized lines. I do not feel like I got a good value from them. After reading the many positive reviews across all platforms I made the call and set up a service call. I wanted to add two fluorescent lights in my garage. A relatively simple task, but with one existing light fixture a little too close to the opener, I knew it would require a little more work. The appointment setting was professional and easy and I was asked if I wanted to provide the fixtures or have Top Tech provide. I asked them to bring the fixtures and set the appointment for today between 11-2. This morning with some pressing timing having surfaced I called and asked if they could narrow the arrival window any. The woman that answered the phone was not at all the cheerful, pleasant person I had spoken with just three days earlier. She seemed a bit snippy when she asked if I wanted an earlier appointment because "if you do, we will have to reschedule". I said, "no, I just want to see if you can narrow the window a little more for me". She said "do you want us to come closer to 2?" I said, again, "no, just narrow the window and that if anything I would prefer closer to 11 than 2". Again she admonished me that she couldn't do that and if I needed a different time they would have to reschedule. I let it go and just decided to wait till whatever time the electrician arrived. Well within the window, the electrician arrived and called me to say he didn't know if I was providing the fixtures or wanting him to do that. (Curious since I made that known during my initial call.) He had priced it both ways.... He told me if he provided the fixtures, the prices was in excess of $1,300 to purchase and install two four foot light fixtures. He then told me the cost to install if I provided the fixtures was just around $650 or so. I was a bit stunned and asked (even though I knew the answer), what cost he figured for the light fixtures. He said "about $75 each". Since Home Depot is about 10 minutes from the house, I asked if he was really charging me around $500 for getting the fixtures for me. He said something about gas and a five-year warranty that Top Tech would provide. I have worked with many, many electricians over the years and not one had ever tried to charge me anything for picking up fixtures minutes from the house. They may do good work. But they won't do it for me. read more

In my opinion this is a bait and switch company. I simply asked for the toilet refill valve to be replaced. Instead they asked for $3200 to replace all of the inner workings of all four of our toilets. Our house isn't even 10 years old and they argued they all needed rebuild. The service call was only $59 I think, the plumber was nice, but he couldn't assess any damage behind the wall without cutting a small hole in the sheet rock behind the leak, and just to do that, to make an estimate for the repair, he was going to charge me over $500! To just look through a hole in the wall! and that's if I decided right then and there for him to look. If I had him come back later, the price would go up to over $800, just to examine the leak and do the repair! He told me that it could cost me anywhere between 1700 and $3000 depending on how extensive the work would be. I didn't use them. Hector and a partner came out to hook up surge protectors to my panel box, my furnace and my outdoor A/C unit. Hector worked outside, and his partner worked inside. I noticed that the surge protectors installed outside were working and had their green lights on. The surge protector attached to the furnace had no light on. I called TopTech to tell them about the non-working surge protector attached to the furnace, and they sent out Alex. He discovered that the surge protector wasn't even connected to the furnace, and it had dangerous loose wires. I had paid over $2,800 for the work, so I was very disappointed to find out the above information. I gave them two stars because they did send someone out to fix the issue after I called, but the work should have been done right the first time. read more

After initially scheduling an appointment, it was cancelled due to an emergency on their end. They rescheduled for the next day to do a $99 drain clearing. During the visit, the technician said he needed to pull the toilet and scope the drain. I was told that to pull and reset the toilet was around $400, not including scoping the drain. I've pulled many toilets in my life and it costs a $6 wax ring and about 15 minutes to set. I told the technician that I'm not paying $400 to pull and set a toilet. He got a little snippy with me and tried to tell me that setting a toilet is tricky to make sure you have a good seal bla bla bla and you get what you pay for. I may not be up on current pricing but I'll never pay $400 to pull and set a toilet, especially with his attitude. read more
