The chef gave a taste of a small mustard portion that he just created right there on the spot until we were waiting for the main course. And the main course....! Heavenly! Really! This being Austria, it was covered in ham and a sharp cheese. I'm not complaining The room had a simple, cozy cellar bar feel. It was a tad warm inside. Friendly service. The walls are covered with old, but clean, farming equipment, which gives it a rustic cool feeling. The heurigen has an extremely large and generous buffet with various Austrian specialties. But don't think of just driving out there and finding an open table. This location is highly respected and always full on weekend. Please take care and check the opening times as the heurigen is not open all year. Like a five star review, the location is very clean and the entire staff is highly qualified. The heurigen also has a small shop were visitors can taste wine, cheese, meats and desserts to take home. The heurigen is located next to Schlosshotel Rosenau, which gives you a chance to walk off some of that wonderful food. Outside children can enjoy themselves at the playground or at the petting zoo.
