Was in the area so I came here to grab a few things. The staff was friendly and the store was well situated. We were pretty much in and out. This was my first time at this location and I have no complaints. Pretty easy to get in and out of. Although , Richard Arrington Blvd can be busy at times.

Pharmacy hours do not reflect what is listed on Yelp for this store. Pharmacy opens at 8am and closes at 8pmM-F and 9/10am-6pm on weekends.

FYI the store hours on this Yelp ad do not reflect the pharmacy. We left the hospital late after a surgery once and arrived at this store at 8:15 and the pharmacy was closed. Only the inside of the store opens at 7am and closes at 10pm. The pharmacy hours are 8am-8am. Had to drive all over town to find a 24:hr pharmacy. I started using this Walgreens after Blue Cross dropped their contract with CVS. I LOVED CVS in Homewood dearly and was infuriated about the change. I have a son who is on 11+ medications at a time and I am also on a ton of medications for health reasons. This store has helped me warm up to the change and made everything a very easy transition. I would give 5 stars except that I absolutely HATE several of the medication brands that this Walgreens uses. 1 medication I have is triple the size pill compared to the same medication that I normally get at CVS. I also dislike the app rewards program. At CVS I would get $15 bucks off of a purchase nearly every week because we filled so many prescriptions there. At Walgreens it takes 2.5 times more prescriptions to be filled just to get $5 off a purchase. When you have a sick child whose medications are nearly $900/month even with insurance, every dollar helps.

This is the best drugstore in Homewood. Everyone there is so nice and helpful. Even the Pharmacist calls me by my first name.

So I've become more and more of a CVS fan! I honestly believe it's because of the excellent…read morecustomer service , which is what lead me update my review from 3 months ago! Also, the coupon/ rewards are pretty legit!! Just recently I was able to get 50% off a $10 or less purchase. I got some really expensive deodorant for $5.63! Awwwwesome! I love that my receipt is emailed to me so I don't have to keep up with it. (If needed). There sometimes is a long line but it never seems to take long getting in & out.

Where do I begin? For starters, I will never visit this location again. The young African American…read morefemale pharmacy technician who removed her name tag and refused to provide her name was the most unprofessional representative I have ever encountered. As I walked to the front counter, I noticed that the pharmacist and technician were engaged in a conversation amongst themselves. I waited patiently but was never acknowledged. After they finished, the pharmacist continued her job duties and so did the technician (while continuing to listen to music in her airpod). I literally had to ask for someone to walk over to assist. I urge you to pull your camera footage. You will see that what I'm telling did in fact happen. Next, the black female technician walks over, sighing deeply, "How can I help you?" I stated that I needed a prescription refilled. She took my paper and walked over to her computer, walked back and stated unpleasantly, "We don't have it, sorry." So, I then asked her to check other locations. She at first LIED and stated she couldn't but then lucky for her she remembered that her system can indeed check other locations. She of course tells me that another location had it but based on her unpleasant and rude disposition, I am having a hard time believing she went out her way to go above and beyond for a customer. Lastly, I had to remind her that I had another prescription to pick up. She deeply sighs again, walks down to a different terminal and stated, "You can come down here."... RUDE!!! I spoke with the manager and asked her to please have a conversation with BOTH individual's working in the pharmacy for their lack of professionalism. When I asked the manager and the technician to provide their names, they immediately declined. Why? Because she's guilty for being extremely rude to a customer. I will never visit this location again and I have contacted corporate for follow up. Maybe the representatives will learn to treat ALL customers with respect. We can only hope!
