I used to like this Walgreens better than the one on River Street until my run-in with Mr. Crazymanager. I still go there but now it's more of a game than a shopping experience. Here's why: Some time ago I went to Walgreens to get some tissues. Easy enough thing to do, except they didn't have any of the tissues that were on sale. I asked the manager for a raincheck. He went and got the book and gave me a raincheck. Easy enough right? After I had put the raincheck in my purse but before I had walked away, he suddenly looked at the shelf and then back at me and asked for the raincheck back. I started reaching into my purse to give it to him and then wondered what was up, so I said "No". And here's where the story takes a left and goes four wheeling! Mr. Crazymanager was very upset that I said "No". So he asked again & I refused again. Picture this happening a few more times (with increasing volume on his part). Finally some poor sap from the pharmacy wonders what the ruckus was and wanders down the aisle. At this point I gave up on the useless argument and walked away with my cart. As I crossed the main aisle and went up towards the register, Mr. Crazymanager came up to my carriage and started pulling stuff out. Seriously. Taking. Stuff. Out. Of. My. Cart. He then amped it up another level by yelling at me that he was going to call the police. Apparently shopping is now illegal, who knew? Anyhow, I took the last few items that he hadn't managed to grab up to the register, made my purchase, told him he was a total fruitloop and left. Things got resolved with the real store manager at a later time, but it's still fun to go in & visit with Mr. Crazymanager on occasion. As fun as it might be to say this story is all made up, it is absolutely true.

The windows are decorated in a cute way, but once you enter the shop, it looked like a teenagers room threw up. The racks are so close you can barely fit through & they dead end in other racks or tables full of merchandise. I could barely get to the counter because there was merchandise all over the floor - literally. The owner didn't even mention it so I just brushed stuff aside with my foot so I could have a clear path to walk around a rack. Yes, it was that bad. Speaking of the merchandise, much of it wasn't priced so I couldn't tell you if the prices are good or not. I did find several pieces with stains or other damage. Honestly, I was kind of embarrassed. The spot is good, the size of the shop is fine and the window displays are cute. Someone needs to tell the owner that it's practically a fire hazard in there was WAY TOO MUCH in the shop. Not impressed, probably won't go back unless I have a desire to feel claustrophobic.

Be extremely cautious with this practice regarding their billing practices. I had a procedure…read moreperformed at the Haverhill office, but the claim was billed through their Beverly location under a different provider tier, resulting in an exorbitant and unjustified copay. When I contacted their billing department to explain that the patient never even saw the doctor from the Beverly office and that this physician uses two different tax IDs, they refused to resubmit the claim correctly. Instead of addressing the error, they sent the bill straight to collections and refused to communicate further. I have since escalated this matter by reporting the incident to the Massachusetts Insurance Fraud Division.
