There's rarely someone up front to help you if you have a question or to help in photos. I live nearby so go in quite often if I need something and recently I ordered some photos to pick up. No one was around to help me with my order, I had to have someone in the back from pharmacy to page someone and then walk back up front - embarrassing. I also found an extra copy of the photo I ordered just sitting at the front counter. What if I had a more personal photo sitting there and not "just a dog"? Gross. Their fridge section is always picked over with drinks, truly horrible. Make-up is also usually picked over as well and not stocked enough. Prices are high to boot.

When I called to ask if they had the remainder of my prescription, the pharmacist came on the line and began angrily telling me that he could not give me the remainder of my prescription and that I would just lose that amount. He told me that I agreed to this when I talked with the assistant previously. I was telling him that I would never agree to this because the prescription is for an opioid and I would experience withdrawal symptoms if I were to miss the remaining part of my prescription. In the middle of my sentence, he began literally yelling at me telling me that I would miss those patches and that he was not going to give them to me. Any time I attempted to say something, he would begin yelling over me. I talked with my doctor who sent over a prescription for the remaining 3 patches. At this point, he filled my prescription, not for three patches but for three boxes. Because he never received a prescription for 3 boxes, this was a medication error as he was only supposed to give me three patches. I will never return to this location again and am looking into reporting a medication error. Incredibly HORRIBLE treatment to a patient.

While staying in Minneapolis, I stopped into a close-by Walgreens to get a few items. I have alway seen locations in downtowns and this one was right around the corner from where I was staying. I am always pleased when I am properly greeted when I walk through the door. I am especially happy when a clerk or cashier look up from what they are doing to acknowledge a customer walking through the door. This store, like other Walgreens is big and bright with clean isles to navigate through. This incredibly delightful staff was over the top in greetings. Happy to see a customer. Happy to help a customer. Happy to speak with a customer. I needed a few items ranging from water to shaving cream. They had plenty of items to choose from and I pleased that their house brand is a substantially reduced price and the same item. Check out went very quickly and I received the same cordial greeting as I left as when I came in. The team member behind the counter just personified the model employee of engagement, spreading happiness and loving to be able to help. Kudos to a wonderful team here at Walgreens.

This isn't the first time CVS hasn't refilled my prescriptions on time. They always blame the Doctor, the Insurance Co, or the patient-never themselves. I'm switching to Walgreens! I was standing in line, like a normal person, and when it was my turn to get to the pick-up window, the clerk, named Kelsy, asked with a rude tone if I had budged in front of all the people behind me, as though she didn't see me standing there for the last 10 min, she accused me of "budging" which made me go "really?" petty shit. Then Kelsy was generally rude while helping me, but made a point of being overly nice to everyone else. while I was waiting in line for those ten min, a clerk who had just finished a transaction, looked me in the eye and walked away, not saying, we'll help you soon, or acknowledging me in any way. I also had to wrestle with them to fill the prescription my doctor had already called in, I had a confirmation text, from CVS, about my medicine being ready and I had called the automated service and the electronic call line also stated my meds would be ready. finally, after a lot of conversations and issues, they told me to wait 10 min and they would fill it. while waiting for the pharmacy to fill the meds I sat in a red char next to the pharmacy. Suddenly a custodial with the personality of a bowling ball came stomping up and told me to get off the chair, she stated it wasn't for me to use??? wha? she stated it was only for people who want a corvid shot, there was no sign on the chair stating it was "reserved" so when I stood up and told her she should put a note on the chair to let everyone know it's just for covid vaccine customers ONLY the custodian angerly drug the chair away and placed it in the back. lol! The staff seemed to work harder not to fill my prescription compared to the effort they put into doing their job to fill medication. I have switched to Walgreens, and I will be advising all of my other friends who use 900 Nicollet Target CVS to do the same.

I'm aware it's to prevent theft but no matter how much I need or want a product there's a level of inconvenience I'm not willing to tolerate. There was one cashier and a line of 6+ people, was I was supposed to wait for the the ever growing line for that one employee to assist me? I walked around the store 2x and never seen an employee on the sales floor, just a cashier up front. Also some products I need to see the package/read it before committing or even compare it sometimes look up prices or other info so the stress of having to have someone wait while I decide is too much. Also brings a level of discomfort that if things are that bad you shouldn't shop there. Walgreens in general is not my choice or retailer for anything really but I'm sure there's people in this area that rely on them and I hope they find a way to combat theft, hire more people to work the floor and provide a better sense of community.

And the store is fine on its own, outside the fact they've locked up ~1/3 of merchandise. I also hate to have to do this to a location so close to our house, but I have been left with no choice since Walgreens doesn't give them what they need to . We live approx. 1.5 blocks from this Walgreens, so I really want to use a neighborhood business. But they make it nearly impossible to trust 1) that they'll even be open, 2) that they'll be able to fill your prescription in a timely manner, and 3) that they are able to help when someone is sick or in need. They don't have the bandwidth or ability to answer the phone, you have to prod them to fill a prescription in person after they claim they were supposed to have them done, which makes customers get back in line once they're done. They're now getting to the point where they aren't open the hours they say they're supposed to. As of today (5/9/24), the Google page for this store says the store itself, not the pharmacy, is temporarily closed, along with the store in Hilltop ~3 miles north. We are unfortunately frequent users of their pharmacy (my wife is essentially homebound due to chronic illness) and the amount of my time they've wasted by not doing their jobs is way more than I have the patience for. But this level of service is unacceptable for a pharmacy that serves low income neighborhoods and folks dependent on transit, that don't have the ability to go somewhere else. If you can, go to St. Anthony Walgreens, or Cub, CVS, Target, or somewhere else. This store, until proven otherwise, cannot be trusted to serve the needs of its clients, and we have no way to hold them accountable for their poor performance.
