Help me understand why a Walgreens on street level in downtown Des Moines is closed on a Sunday (or closes early any other day) when they could make a killing off the people who live, work, and party at the bars, apartments, and offices that literally surround the store's location. You can get to this location through the skywalks, and the hours are very convenient for the hustle and bustle of downtown residence! We waited 45 minutes in the drive-thru and then they told me my medicine would not be ready until Monday! I said, "I have two messages saying it's ready and I've been sitting here 45 minutes!" Here's my experience; Dr. Ordered Mounjaro for me, being retired I wanted to pick up on Jan 2, as I did to ensure I paid the first out of pocket $389 on that date. I explained that when I picked it up on January 2, even though it was called in December 30, 2025. They assured me it would apply to January 2026. Went to pick up Februarys and Walgreens wanted $490? Called Insurance and they said Walgreens would not reinvoice that December charge to reflect my pick up on January 2, 2026 and it applied to 2025 as I feared and was assured it wouldn't happen according to my understanding. They do what they say they will do - get names and numbers if you like standing in lines and getting scripts here is my advice. This is my last resort for scripts, I'm now seeking a new pharmacy and will avoid this store going forward. Goodbye - Walgreens . . . .
