This CVS is one of my old stomping grounds as I worked as a pharmacy technician back in my twenties…read moreso I'm 100% a CVS customer!! I came in here the other day to get my 2nd shingles vaccine as I got my 1st one @ a CVS back in Las Vegas & knew that they would have a record of this because I wasn't sure of the exact date of when I did get my 1st shingles shot. The lady @ the pharmacy counter was very nice & was able to pull me up by my name & DOB. I had to update my insurance info as my plan changed the first of the new year. It was very busy when I stopped in here on a Thursday afternoon around 4pm. I didn't schedule an appointment for my vaccine as I was having trouble connecting to the CVS app. I tell ya the Verizon cell phone service in this area isn't the best. I was able to get my vaccine as a walk in even though it was busy. Jaime the pharmacist was the one who gave me my shingles shot. He was very friendly & nice to chat with. He gave me my shot without any issues (yes, the shingles vaccine does hurt! As I tell patient's "its not the needle that hurts its the medicine) & I had told him how I use to work here in my 20's. The pharmacy has grown as I counted probable about 5-6 people behind the counter. The store has even grown too. I have found that it has gotten more crowded with aisles/products, as if they put more in this store. There isn't much room to move down an aisle if there is someone else in it too. I did get my coupons from their coupon machine & did some shopping based on what coupons I had. I do find CVS to be more expensive than Walmart but with the coupons it helped by lowering the prices of some of the items that I wanted to buy. I did go to the self checkout (which I hate) & did have some problems with scanning my items but one of the employees came over right away & helped me fix the issues. I do find that it can be a pain in getting out of if you park on the smaller parking lot side so I went home the back way then trying to fit to get back out on islington street.

Truly an impeccable pharmacy with wonderful staff! They've always helped me when I needed them.read more

Im new to Wegovy, which is self pay, I took in all instructions in person. My first wegovy prescription came with instructions from the pharmacist to drink "40" ounces of water with my pill. That a lot of water..after a WEEK of these instructions, I was advises tjat its only "4" ounces of water. Im pissed..so my next month, I ran out of my medication due to the fact that the pharmacist sent for pre-authorization to my insurance! it IS SELF PAY! I called the pharmacist and we discussed how i told them it was self pay and I'm out of my pills..SHE hung up on me. So I call the store and ask for the manager, a woman answered i believe her name started with a C and older woman. I explained my issues, and she said that she would go investigate..She never called back and nobody answered my inquiry about the 40 ounces of water! That a huge mistake

Two weeks ago I bought a package of organic baby carrots. They were slimy and several were so spoiled that they were like jelly. I have had other issues of spoilage in the past. While I will still continue to buy shelf items, I will avoid the produce section and buy from stores that consistently have fresh product.

The locals equally recommended York, Southern Maine, and Mercy Hospital as all good choices - so I chose York Hospital OB because of it's proximity to my family in MA. I've been to both the Wells and York offices and because I only needed 6 visits they made sure to rotate me through all the doctors, who have all been very knowledgeable and supportive and really seem to listen to my concerns. For one, I needed to continue a series of iron infusions ASAP and was having trouble getting my records transferred between hematology offices, once I explained this, the OB committed to calling my previous hematologist directly and had me referred within perhaps 48 hours to begin infusions based on her doctor-to-doctor communication. This was a huge stress off my plate. All of the midwives have likewise been pleasant and reassuring and the receptionists have all been very friendly and helpful. I also must comment on the associated hospital and maternity center. It is absolutely gorgeous. I wasn't sure what to expect as I'm used to a very large institutional feel (this is my 5th child) and the hospital is clearly smaller than I m used to. But open entering (main entrance) it was a very calming environment with beautiful wall murals and a cozy waiting area with a big fish tank and even a LL Bean-esque wooden play structure (with a pretend dock, so cute) that I my 3 yo daughter thought was awesome. We then toured the delivery area where I guess they've been renovating and the waiting room is AWESOME - depending on the time of labor, we may (eek) have to have all our kids come with us while we wait for family to arrive. After seeing the waiting I actually have no concerns about bringing all our kids there to hang out if needed - there is plenty of room and again, a cozy feeling... not cold or 'institutional' at all. I could see them claiming just a corner of the room with books, games, stuffed animals, and snacks and being just fine for a few hours. I hope that other locals are able to experience the same as I have and that this place gets the credit it deserves!

Needed to fill my fiancé's prescription promptly as we are about to leave for vacation. I spent…read moreall morning contacting area pharmacies - everywhere was out of stock. I know this because when I called said pharmacies (including multiple Walmart locations), I asked them if the medication was in stock, and each employee graciously answered my question. Not so with Newington! The man I spoke to smugly replied "I can't tell you about that." I said "oh? well every other Walmart pharmacy I have called today has been able to answer my question." He said "well I just speak for myself and I can't do that." I asked if there is a supervisor or manager I could speak with, and he said "no I'm the person you speak with." Weird verbiage. Leads me to suspect he is not in fact a supervisor/manager himself - wouldn't you just say "that's me"? I spoke to upwards of 12 pharmacies this morning, 5 of which were Walmarts, and this "man" was the only one refusing to answer my very reasonable and *necessary* question. In order to fill a prescription, my fiancé has to contact his doctor through a web portal, and then wait up to several hours for it to be sent. They will only send out one at a time, so it's pretty important to know beforehand that the store actually has the medication in stock. Worst of all, it wasn't like he was apologetic for being unable to help - no, he could not have sounded more pleased with himself. What a prick. I'm sure his family hates him.

Martha, specifically, will find every possible reason not to fill your prescription. She'll "red flag" you to no end, especially if you're able to hold a job as someone with ADHD and - God forbid - have to travel for that job and require an early refill. She informed me that the PDMP showed "every refill in the past few months had been early." She then offered to supply me the dates of every last fill - the dates she read back were erroneous and several conflicted directly with her statement that "all previous fills" had been early. When confronted with this information she then said that "well, almost every fill was early." She's a liar, and will go above and beyond to cover her own "behind" while making life more difficult for those of us who rely on medication to function and be productive members of society. Avoid at all costs.
