Purchased 4 items, 3 of which were either broken, defective (As in a scented fluid leaking from the bottom, factory or likely internal store Quality Control failure), and one item completely mislabeled and drastically undersized. Due to the fluid leak, the print had literally been erased from the receipt. However, the total and individual item #s were all legible, AS WELL AS THE PRICE AND DATE. The staff was incredibly rude (all 3 involved), and a manager to resolve a simple return. Had my ID, phone #, and the debit card used for the original purchase on hand. The customer is always right, especially when it is a MASSIVE corporate entity over an incredibly mundane issue like this. read more

Can't even rate this pharmacy but forced to put one star. should be minus ten stars. It's the worst. They need more personnel. Their system is flawed. And should not have cashier station in complete closure for breaks, or meal times. If you're going to need your medication pick a different Walgreens. This one will walk away and leave you empty handed. read more

This is an okay Walgreens! They have convenient parking right out in front which is nice, and are located off a busy street so it's easy to turn in if you need to grab something. They usually are very stocked with items which is also great - I never have a problem finding the makeup, food, toiletries, etc., that I need. Staff is usually pretty friendly and helpful as well. The biggest issue I run into here is the pharmacy. They definitely get busy during random hours in the day and more often than not you'll find a long wait inside and in the drive-thru. That's beyond the pharmacists' control though, but I've ran into problems where they didn't have my prescription more than once and it was an error on their part. Most recently, I had antibiotics prescribed to me where I came in with the physical prescription from the ER (first time bringing in a physical prescription). The employee said it should take 2 hours. I came back 5 hours later with them having no record of me dropping off a prescription and nothing ready for me, they said it wasn't in their system. I told them I had dropped off my prescription hours ago, was told it'd be 2 hours, and even described how the employee looked like who took it. They looked around for a little and found it in a pile of papers and said it was "never scanned in". No one said sorry, no one really said much about it and seemed annoyed even with me. I had to wait longer for it to get filled. I'm just fortunate they found it because that would've been a whole other ordeal. I've never had problems like these at any other pharmacy before moving to around this area. Maybe if they were helpful/nice with the situation I'd have a different outlook but they were not. Another thing that I see in other people's reviews too is that they never answer their phones, that's definitely something I run into as well so I just stopped calling. I'd come here for toiletries, makeup, and snacks but I'm trying to steer clear of the pharmacy. read more

This is my local Walgreens. I called ahead yesterday and today to confirm they could help me and was assured they would. Was turned away on both occasions when I visited the store because the person who provided the service "was out". This was a simple photo job. I have been a Walgreens customer for 35 years at different locations. For some reason the service at this location is uniquely bad. This store is depressing mainly because of the staff. Their default setting is to defer customers to absent co-workers who "take care of that". Most Walgreens locations have a positive vibe, but this one will drain you. read more

Serious negative issues with the pharmacy, especially with refills. Many of the front end staff are rude, and, make me feel like they are doing me a favor by being there. I love the location, but, because of the aforementioned issues, and, many more, I will be transferring my multiple prescriptions to a different pharmacy, and, shop for additional items at that different pharmacy (Osco or CVS). 1 star read more

I Go to the Walgreens on Harlem Avenue and Irving park in Noridge for My Prescriptions and other stuff but the pharmacy is so slow and Not doing their jobs well every time I call them they put you on hold and then a lot of times they just don't answer I have talked to the Store manager and that still doesn't help read more

Pharmacy is BRUTAL!!! Out of stock for cancer pain medication and let the phone time out twice when I called to find out when it would be in or if another pharmacy had it. Twice on hold once 48 minutes, another for over an hour. If this is how they treat cancer patients, something like a flu or virus probably isn't even on their radar. Zero Stars but they wouldn't let me post without giving one. read more

Recently I had to fill a prescription; my doctor wrote it in a confusing way (two different strengths of an injectable drug to be self-administered), and Neville, the pharmacist, refused to fill it until he checked with the physician. After it was clarified, Neville discovered that he had only enough stock of one strength, so he searched other Walgreens pharmacies until he found what was needed. Later that night, when he was ending his shift, he telephoned me to see whether I had gotten what I needed and if I was able to administer the shots. I was very appreciative of Neville's care and his conscientious follow up. After some unhappy medical experiences, it was great to find myself in the hands of a competent and compassionate pharmacist who gave outstanding service. A credit to his profession and to the River Grove pharmacy. read more

BEWARE OF WALGREENS! Last week I went to Walgreens Pharmacy (River Grove, IL) to fill anti-inflammatory prescription of Meloxicam. I was told my insurance (Express Scripts) would not cover the drug and I would have to pay about $38.00 for the month's supply. I refused and then was told that they could reduce the price to $18.00. One week later, I called my insurance to ask why this common drug was not covered. They told me that not only was it covered, but that Walgreens had never even submitted the prescription for their payment. When I returned to Walgreens, they checked and affirmed that, indeed, I was covered and should have only been charged under $5.00. They returned my money but left me doubtful if I would ever trust them again and wondering if I had been cheated in the past. They assured me that they would look into it, but so far, I have not heard one word from them. read more

Slow and unhelpful. Wanted to check prescription status and am still on hold, It's been 15 minutes. Who works here?? There's always a long line, and barely any workers. As a mom of 2 children under 4, it's very hard to wait in a long line. Will have to change to another pharmacy ASAP. read more

The Pharmacy is slow and unhelpful. I had a prescription that they would not give because their system showed I had already picked it up. Their video was down so they could not view the transaction til the next day. Even doctors keep ya waiting but will get the job done when treatment needed. Went to another location. Phoned the doc. Had to pay but will get reimbursed when the video clowns clear their mess and my insurance will reverse the transaction. Plus I get to sleep easy with antibiotics from the help of a BETTER Walgreens Pharmacy location on Harlem & Diversey where THEIR MANAGEMENT and PHARMACISTS know how to run things and keep customers happy even if it has been an inconvenience. That is all. Needless to say but I will think twice about going to this particular location again and cannot recommend it. They did refund me the excess charges and apologized but their manager should be bossing pimple faced kids flipping burgers at McDonalds instead of playing god with people's health over medicine. read more

I have been going to this place for more than 20 years, since my mother, Very good service and nice and helpful people, I have gone through change of personnel, same thing, I moved from River Grove and I am now in franklin park and did not change pharmacy because I still know some people there and I myself feel very comfortable they always try to help me when in need and even get there my flu shot every year which they report to my doctor from there. Sometimes ladies at the cashiering the front are not as good but please we have to understand that people have good and bad days and sometimes we ourselves feel frustrated at times. I have no intention to change pharmacy, I only drive about 5 minutes and I am there, plus my Pick cleaners is there and is very convenient to have them both in the same area. I don't know what it is with this place and the night time cashier. I have called and complained about the terrible customer service and not try to avoid the place like the plague unless absolutely necessary. Yet another bad experience tonight with the same lady... Wants to have a conversation with everyone else in the store and who she works with rather than paying attention to the customer. She even paused in the middle of scanning my stuff so that she could continue her conversation. No friendly hi or anything no have a good night... This time she did say thank you... But still not enough. Maybe it's just a management issue at the store because obviously something I have complained about has not been rectified. read more

They only gave me 10 days worth of meds for a month. When I called they acted like I was stupid.

I work in River Grove and ran to Walgreen's on my lunch break. This was last night 12/11/13. First of all they have a bunch of stuff on the shelf with no price tags. For example, I wanted to buy a bag of chips. Nothing except the sale items had a price tag. Then I go to the checkout and there is no employees to be found. I waited for about 5 minutes. I then hear some of them talking in an aisle so I asked if anyone was at the register. Some lady named Rosa who was rudely chewing her gum like a cow came over and said "I guess I can't even step away from the register". Hmmm, sorry to disturb you Rosa I thought you were at work or something. The guy in line behind me wanted to buy a snow brush and asked her to check the price because there was no price for that either. Pretty strange if you ask me. Rosa did say thank you to me though so although she was rude I gave them an extra star for that because I had when people don't bother to say thank you to a customer. read more
