I went into this store to drop a return off at Fed Ex. I purchased a $4 shipping bag because they don't offer those as part of the service. I inserted the items into the bag and the girl at the register asks "would you like to buy some tape to seal your bag?" Keep in mind, there is a packing tape gun sitting on the counter behind her, which I make reference to. And the Asst Manager (bald guy with glasses and a goat-tee) who is sitting at the counter says to "Oh, that's the store tape, we don't use it for customers.' I just bought a $4 shipping bag and you want me to spend another $6 on tape because you won't use a 4 inch piece of tape from the "store tape?" Great customer service. I have no issues with this Walgreens. My prescriptions are always ready when I arrive. I don't use the drive up window and I don't think I have waited for than 5 minutes to pick up a prescription. Occasionally some one in front of me doesn't understand the process or there insurance but that is not the pharmacies fault. I always renew my precriptions using the Walgreens App. On occasion when I get a prescription that is not covered by insurance they are quick to find another way to discount the medication. 99% of my medications are covered with zero out of pocket for me. Weirdest Walgreens i have ever been too! The inside is fine and normal but i do alot of pickup orders. i have done three curbside orders here and each time they say they cannot touch my car due to a security issue...the worker explained it's to prevent damage to peoples cars? i have never heard of a establishment that offers curbside service but cannot complete said service. at that point take the curbside option away. Big comfortable uncluttered store where parking is never ever an issue. I get a lot of my over-the-counter stuff and greeting cards here. They have a small food section where I found a product I have specifically returned for three times. Walgreen's house food brand is called "Delish" and I love the Delish chocolate granola- it is terrific. I stopped in today for a bag of granola and a newspaper, but was told they don't sell newspapers. That's so bizarre, because I could have sworn I bought them here many times. This store is a disaster Pharmacy drive up window is closed. "Broken" intercom. Pharmacy had to close for a few days....No Pharmacist. I called the pharmacy 3 times, was on hold for 40 minutes each time. When I finally spoke to a person, they told me my Rx would be ready at 5pm (three days after it was sent in from Dr.) I arrived the following morning at 11:30, only to be told it wasn't ready and I needed to come back in 30 minutes. UNACCEPTABLE! I was to lld to wait 10 minutes and they would process my Rx. That turned into another 30 minute wait. I felt worse for the hearing impaired 87 year old woman, who came in to pick up her Rx and was sent away, because it wasn't ready. I would give Walgreens a minus 10 rating if I could FIX YOUR STORE.... IT'S BROKEN, or I'll take my business to CVS. read more

The worst customer service! I called to see if my prescription was ready. It took the pharmacy 55 minutes to answer my call after calling from multiple devices. At the end to hear that it wasn't. I don't understand how busy could they be within those 55 minutes. read more

They should just close the pharmacy, nasty employees, they send texts or emails that scrips are ready you get there they aren't ready. Then that's your fault you question why the email or text! read more

TLDR: DO NOT GO HERE FOR PRESCRIPTIONS Having an urgent medical issue that needs medicine is already a tough situation. Bushy hill Walgreens made it so much worse. The doctor told me I needed the meds tonight. The nurse told the pharmacy that, when we went in we told them and they still told me to my face they can't get it to me tomorrow. 3 other people were in the lobby trying to get meds and kept being told to come back tomorrow or the next day- no concrete times, no steps being taken to help them. We tried calling them and they had us on hold for 1 hour and 27 minutes, and then they disconnected us. They're not only understaffed they're also horribly managed and have outdated equipment. They even messed up my prescription and I had to call the doctor and have him redo the prescription and send it to a different pharmacy. read more

So this is just based on my experience with the front store, I've never used the pharmacy. It's a good size Walgreens, although the seasonal section is small. The aisles are generally clean and free of clutter, and the store is well lit. I've never had a prolonged wait to check out, which is a fine thing if you're going to movies right after. ;-) read more

Forget this place. Had some prescriptions filled here and the Lady pharmacist in charge walks up front and starts a rather loud confrontational conversation in-front of other customers about my prescriptions and medical issues and advising me to switch to different drugs (a drug i had already stopped taking because of interactions, had she known if she asked). Forget it lady. You're not a primary physician let alone mine. Also making 10 other people within earshot aware of anyones medical illnesses is not so HIPA compliant. Treated like a drug addict. Stopped to refill a prescription last month and was scorned and reprimanded for trying to have a script filled two days early by the Female pharmacist with the dark hair. Never have I had someone purposefully make me feel so small and scum like. If she had been doing her job she would have seen that it was the first time it was filled in FOUR months but she failed to look at the month, only the day. Shame. A really great and clean store. The staff is very helpfull and the store is small enough to find everything but big enough to have a bit of everything. They just underwent a remodel so its even nicer than it was before. And its open 24 hours 7 days a week for those last minute emergencies. read more

This Simsbury Walgreens pharmacy is awful. The staff is rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful. Don't bother coming to this location, you'll regret it. You can tell the pharmacy employees are miserable and it shows. I had to go in to bring back a prescription that was given to me in the wrong brand (Walgreens fault) and I was told that there was nothing that could be done and I would have to take the medication until the correct brand comes in. This was all after explaining to the pharmacy staff that the brand they gave me makes me ill. Shows where their priorities are. read more

I've been waiting over a week for my prescription to be filled. I received a call from my doctor this morning. She told me she *spoke* with the pharmacist and my prescription wasn't filled because their computer systems were down on August 8th when my prescriptions were sent in and they only received one of the two prescriptions... somehow.. even though their systems were down. This was this morning. I just called the pharmacy again. It's almost 3pm. They claim nobody called in. Nobody spoke to the pharmacist. There is no order for me. Considering the conversation I had with my doctor, considering she spoke to someone and knew of the pharmacy's computer system, I'm going to have to accept that the pharmacy is lying to me. Why, I don't know. But this is not the first time this pharmacy has treated me unprofessionally, and it certainly WILL be the last. read more

Every time we have to go to the pharmacy there is always an issue. Their systems for prescriptions is on some serious lag that must have to go thru national or something because it always takes a few hours for them to even receive the prescriptions and when u have a sick kid this is less than convenient. Also generally people back there generally seem pretty grumpy and miserable. I suspect that has a lot to do with dealing with the general public but u get what u put out there. Big, clean, friendly & smart staff. Plenty of parking, very convenient, much nicer than the CVS or other big pharmacies.

I really enjoy Walgreens and will admit I go there for entertainment late at night--this is a 24 hour store. Basically, I really enjoy looking at all the products they have. There are a great many clothing items very cheap and easy to slip into. I purchased a few Connecticut T-shirts there which I wear when I'm feeling patriotic about our State or when I plan on going to the legislative office building to speak to my representatives about something. I particularly enjoy the stationary section where I pick up various office supplies, which is really helpful when I run out of something at 2:00a.m. and I have a project due the next morning. I love the candy section because they literally have every kind of candy you can possibly imagine wanting--of course, what i usually want is chocolate and there is tons of chocolate at the store. I find it particularly good that you can find lots of sales, lots of items at very inexpensive prices, which you might not expect from a 24 hour store. The sales people at the store are very friendly and helpful and will go out of their way to help you locate an item or find a good substitute if, by some off chance, a product wasn't available. I get a kick out of the book choices, some of the NYT top best sellers plus great magazines to grab for reading material on the way out. I am always grateful that this store is there for an emergency after hours. So overall, I must say a great store. I can't think of anything to say that's negative to be honest. Just a friendly store, great people, and lots of good prices on products we all need sooner or later. read more
