He explains everything to my understanding, from my test results to what I can expect in the future. He also LISTENS. I have experience in medical transcription and coding, so I have some medical knowledge. When I ask a question, he never rolls his eyes, as other physicians have done, but he listens and then always takes the time to answer fully. His staff are remarkable as well in that they seem to emulate Dr. Kalla with regards to respect and treating patients with dignity. I didn't find this physician on my own. I go to the VA for treatment, and it was the VA who referred me to him. I'm so glad they did.

I called for the results of my husband's PET scan from a week ago. Good news is they have it. Bad…read morenews: they won't tell me. They won't tell my husband. We have to make an appointment to get the report. The Dr won't be in the office for a week. They won't post it on the patient portal until he reviews it. I don't think they care about the impact their behavior has on patients and their families. I'm exhausted!

I brought my mother to this office for a consult to rule out lung cancer. The staff were somewhat…read morefriendly at the desk but did not keep us informed about the wait time. Her appt was scheduled at 9:45. We arrived at 9:30 with all paperwork completed. Waited 90 minutes before being taken to an old, small, dirty exam room...where we waited another 60 minutes. I am a nurse in another town and if our docs are 15 minutes late we had better be talking to the customers! Our doctors also face consequences for being late. The logo "doing" the right thing is obviously not true. Stealing time should be a crime!
