They dont answer their phone. I've had to call them twice to get my insulin pen. I am an established patient

Horrifying experience with one of the nurses (did not catch her name because I was so overwhelmed with her awfulness unfortunately, before she stormed out of the room like one of my teenagers). She was rude, condescending, and unprofessional during our encounter, and then after she made her oh-so-cool-I'm-better-than-you exit, complete with a slammed door that would rival my 12-year old's efforts, I could hear her talking about me negatively in the hallway to her coworkers. The main heading was "I can't.. I can't with her..." followed by how I would not cooperate with her; trying to make me understand that I have hypertension...yep I'm aware of that, my friend. I have a PCP in Ohio helping me manage my hypertension. I'm not here for that, but all my (not) thanks for telling your whole staff all of that. I am a caregiver myself in Ohio, so I am not stupid...this is a HIPPA violation, which is illegal. I wish I had gotten her name so I could report her, because I would immediately. (Also, um, if you "can't" with someone who just needs FMLA forms signed, then what CAN you do??? Did you actually get educated??). I am not a vindictive person by nature, but this nurse treated me so horribly while I was just trying to get FMLA forms signed to care for my sick (dying) dad. Who actually acts like that towards a person, in such a situation, as a caregiver???? If others have had this experience with this place, I'd love to hear about it, because I want this awful person reported (my mom after the fact gave me some background outlining her own experiences with probably this same cow) and apparently, this nurse just sucks at being a human, let alone a nurse. She is the worst person I have encountered in a long time, and that's saying a lot. Walker Family Care should be ashamed of her presence in their facility. I hope others come forward as well after seeing this review. I'm calling the office regardless to pursue next steps regarding her HIPPA violation if nothing else. I went to this office twice both times everyone except for physician assistant, we're very rude. My husband sat out in the waiting room and they were rude to him as well. I stayed in examining room so long that he was worried about me and they didn't want to give him any information. I was there to get a CT scan. I never met the doctor the times that I was there he never came and introduced himself at all and every time I saw him, he was petting his dog that shouldn't have been there anyway not in a medical facility. A few months I needed medical records from them and they told me I need to come down and fill out a release form which I did and they told me it was gonna take 48 days before they would be able to get it back to me and they were charge me $15 for processing and $.60 for each page. There might've been two pages and all they had to do was look up my name and print out the pages for . They were very very rude when I got upset with them. They kicked me the office so on the way out, I explained to his what they had done to me and then they opened up the window and told me that I was to leave their office. I have been going to this family care center for a couple of years. I walked in with existing blood pressure and heart concerns. I have been on two medication's for more than 12 years. Both were prescribed by a heart doctor where I lived before I relocated here in 2018. My heart doctor continued to refill these medication's. No questions asked because they are life or death impacting. I finally found a doctor that took that over in Walker family care. I have now been unemployed for over a year with no benefits or healthcare. This office is refusing to refill these two crucial medication's unless I spend money that I don't have to come in and look them in the face. I understand it is a doctors responsibility to monitor a patient's health and well-being, but it is also a doctors responsibility to make sure that they are not putting their patients in unneeded danger. when I am finally able to afford healthcare again this will definitely never again be the space for me which is sad because I really liked the PA that I saw every time I was there. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Walker and his team for about 10 years. I have always been extremely pleased with the thoughtful, straight-forward, intelligent care I've received. Dr. Walker has an amazing diagnostic ability. I love the laid back environment. Yes, the practice has grown busier in recent years, but the team is always working really hard and diligently. I've seen others complaining about the wait times or their appointments not being exactly at the time they're scheduled for. I'd be upset with having to wait if I saw people dilly dallying around, but that's never the case. I've recently gone through the process of chemo/cancer treatment at Duke. Never once have my providers been on time. I say that just to share that I think some people just need a little perspective. They're healthcare providers not robots. When your cable is being installed they make you wait around for a half a day. I welcome a 30 minute wait if it means I'm receiving top notch care. read more

I have spent money there to see the doctor (the physicians assistant this usually) to re-up my migrain medicine to get an MRI ordered. She agreed and said she would order one. But it has been over 3 months and so far nothing... I have called back more than once after ward and explained to the receptionst but still gotten nothing. Migrains, a possible stroke in the past...all I want is a current MRI ordered to see what's going on. Who is dropping the ball here, office staff? Tidewater Imaging, Sea Coast? Saved my life! I went there after spending the night in a hospital that could find nothing wrong with me. Dr Walker listened carefully to my concerns. Within ten minutes he got on the phone and had scheduled me for an emergency appointment with a top cardiologist in 30 min.. Two days later I was in surgery for a 90% blockage of my right ventricular artery. I trust him and his staff to do the right thing and go there first for my health concerns. read more

My wife and I went to Doctor Rogers Walker family doctor in Little River, SC for 5 years and we had several problems with the staff and the folks working in the office. We went in several times where our appointment was to be listed and coded as a 'WELLNESS' visit where after the visit the insurance company would not charge us for the correct visit and the office would not change and resubmit the paperwork. Many examples where the office and/or doctor seemed to be looking to maximum revenue with extra tests and machines used and performed too often and seemed to be 'required' as insurance would partially cover and the assumption that all patient's are on Medicare and Uncle Sam will pay is troublesome for those of us not there yet. In general, the staff is gruff and not friendly. Lastly, my wife had her senior mother living with us last year. She was caring for her mother closely and to be safe and careful, we decided to take up the office on the offer of visit via car to avoid the office. We called for an appointment and were told clearly that there were no appointments outside for this type of visit. My wife repeatedly asked the office to give her an appointment but was repeatedly told to come anytime, pull up in front and call. A few days later, we went to walkers at 10 am on a normal weekday, parking lot was not crowded and it was no where near lunch. My wife called and was told that she had to come inside due to asking for prescription renewals. Very frustrating and we suggest that you are prepared for delays and extra tests before deciding to go to Walker Family Care. read more

Not at all satisfied with my last visit in May 2021. Dr. Walker sent me on my way with pneumonia, first asking me what I wanted from him. Less than a month later I almost died in Seacoast Hospital with a bad infection and pneumonia. I will NEVER go back to, him again. read more

Came south to visit family and a wedding. I became very sick, fever, congested cough, hard to breath and aches all over. Feeling very bad. Went to Dr. Robert Walker. They were very thorough the staff were polite and professional and the doctor as well. The doctor saw that I had congestion in my chest. They gave shot of cortisone and a dose of buteral in the office. This is one of the only times I felt better leaving a doctors office with a cold. The doctor wrote me three precsriptions. I had them filled and I am on the road to recovery. I did not have to wait long, the office was clean and well lighted. I would highly recommend this doctor if you need one like I did. read more

The nurse was super rude. I had gone for a checkup to establish a doctor. Nurse called with lab results and gave me a major medical diagnosis, got super snappy about questions. She just was like that's what you have, if you have questions make an appointment and transferred me to reception so I was suddenly just talking to another person. So i go in person. I was calling on the phone to tell them I was there and a nurse walks out and I was like hi! I have sinus pressure on my ear and need to get a wash out. Can I be in? She said. Sinus? That sounds like covid, you're not coming in here. I was like how do I get treated, and she was like not inside. Then she walked in and closed the door. So I emailed the staff and said that the care was frustrating and they said we don't discuss that online but call the nurse. No thanks!! I've talked to her enough. Lol, hope y'all have better luck or aren't sick. read more

all i can say is thank god for the walker urgent care. i am a replant from rhode island and back in end of january beginning of february of this year 2020, before covid-19 was even a word for us. i showed up to their office with the worst symptoms i ever had and issues with breathing. they did all sorts of tests on me and the finally diagnosis was not the flu but a viral infection somewhere in my lungs. went home took the medicine and didn't feel any better, so i walked in again and they saw me, tweaked the medicine and within two weeks i finally started to feel better. they listened and they acted. i did not want to go to the hospital being new to the area and was alone at that point, and because i figured it was my sinus issues i usually have that time of year. but after all was done, i realized a few months later i had all symptoms of covid. so in reality it could have been covid. but either way they took care of me like i was their family and i won't forget that. thank you dr walker, shelley and staff. if i could give you ten stars i would !! read more

The staff was rude, inconsiderate and mean. Misinformed me about procedures for retesting thyroid and as a result left me waiting for 40 minutes or more.Then acted like it was my fault.Never got an apology. Told the doctor I was being difficult and as a result he didn't take my complaint serious. I know a lot of folks think they have to put up with this kind of treatment, but there are too many good doctors in this area to tolerate being disrespected. read more
