Four months on from my wellness visit I am being hounded by labcorp for payment due to an original…read moremiscoding when ordering lab work for me. They didn't code the visit as a wellness visit and coded as a meet and greet with a new doctor. This was despite me not requesting a change of primary care provider. The change was only necessary because the provider left McLeod. After I got bills from McLeod , I contacted them and they eventually corrected their own bill but they are refusing to contact labcorp with updated coding so that labcorp can correct their bill. I have spent too many hours of my time on the phone with blue cross and with labcorp and they both tell my it has to be the provider who initially ordered the blood draws that has to contact them in order for this to be corrected.

They would not allow me back to see him or talk to the dr. The charge nurse was no better and didn't want to hear anything I said. I did nothing wrong, I was in tears and so worried. These women should not be in the nursing profession they have no people skills, kindness or compassion. I will be filing a formal complaint and will not stop until I'm sure no one else will have to go through what I did. Also he was sent home in the same condition as he came. He asked me to take him to a different hospital. We went to seacoast McLeod And he was admitted. On a good note they were so very very kind and compassionate and treated his condition with the concern it deserved. It was the best hospital experience you could have asked for. Writing this review as a patient visitor. My dad recently had surgery here. GSMC is a big hospital…read morethat offers lots of heathcare services like an emergency room, a Cardio unit, and more! They also have a cafeteria. It is located off of Highway 17 and is easy to get to. As far as parking goes, they do have a big lot, and also a vallet if needed. I visited twice, and entered via the south entrance. Here they also checked us in, asked for Id, took our photo and was given a vistors pass. Both times i visited (one on 7/30/26 and another on 8/02/2026) The security person at check in was very nice. I was also with someone and knew where to go, but the security person also provides directions. Only quam is that it is chilly in hospitals, and highly recommend to bring a Jacket or something. Also, i'm surprised that there is no map of the hospital around- if i was by myself, and perhaps bad at directions, I feel that I would get lost in there! Anyways, found my dad's room in the cardio unit okay. Another thing is that there is only 2 chairs in the room, and if people want to stay long there should be another chair of some sort. At the visit of 7/30, someone needed to stand because we were 3 people. Oh, and met the surgeon and the nurse and everyone was nice. The nurse was also nice because it was time to remove some tubes that were in my dad, and she was explaining what she was doing and had a calming demeanor. Glad to see- although sort of wish I didn't have to see that because my dad said ow when the tube was out. Some people don't like seeing their family members in pain like that. Anyways. Oh and used the restroom on the south strand side, and it was a single stall! Clean but of course there was a line to the womens room for the single stall. Wasn't on the main entrance side, but hope the main entrance has more restroom stalls! This is my review as a visitor, and it was easy visiting this place.

The experience was…read moreincredibly nice: they prepared a private room with an extra bed for my wife, they monitored my situation very carefully, provided super professional and kind support, all nurses ( I remember particularly Denise) and all doctors that checked on me when I arrived and before being discharged. They also provided breakfast and lunch! Thank you all, really appreciated!

Recently had short notice that I was going to need to take a flight- I am terrified of flying due to recent crashes. I called and got an appointment in 2 days, my doctor was understanding and compassionate and validating. I was able to have medication for my flight the same day. I'm on my flight home now feeling great and not at all afraid. Truly a lifesaver, I am so grateful for the professionals here! You all are incredible at what you do! Not to mention, had bloodwork done about a year ago and discovered the only person that can have me in and out of that chair within one minute without me passing out. Amazing staff, amazing work!!

Went here for the 1st time on Wednesday May 6th 2026. My mom came too but it was an appointment for…read moreme. Finally got to see a doctor down here, made this appointment online as well. Easy to get to, easy to find parking, walked in and was greeted by a pleasant staff member who checked me in, and got me started on paperwork. After no time at all, maybe like 5 minutes, the nurse called me in, and checked my weight and blood pressure. Nurse Crystal was very pleasant, and also remembered that I had completed paperwork on the portal that stated my medications, so in turn didn't have to fill it out again. Dr. Desmond Ponder was very nice, respected what I had to say, and I felt listened to. He prescribed me a refill of thyroid medication and an allergy medication. Now, he did mention the gynocologist and how I am "due" for a pap, but he said whenever you are ready let me know. Didn't say this but i don't think i would ever be ready. Also to add, i did message on the portal beforehand about mentioning the gyno, and prefer it not mentioned at all due to a bad experience. (Yelpers- my first review if you want to look at it!) He also ordered a blood draw, and unfortunately it is fasting. a little meh because again, in the portal I said that i have felt faint during blood draws, and believe it would help to not fast. For me, nonfasting is a better option. Maybe next appointment i'll ask. Though I do understand since it is my first blood draw with this provider maybe he wants to get a baseline, then my wishes can be respected. To add, blood draws here are just whatever the doctor ordered, can do it when one wants to, for me, as long as I fast. Oh, and also no indication of having my records when i knew some of them were on the portal, I sent them over to another provider at CMC, shouldn't they automatically get transfered? Overall, and other than that, the doctor was very pleasant, and I felt respected and listened to. To add, after the visit, I have been upset because Dr. Ponder prescribed me levocetirizine , a allergy medication, that is taken at night- and in my case, I have been taking claritin (Store brought) during the day, and it is marketed as a non-drowsy medication; this was also in the portal as well, and should have been referenced to. Especially since claritin works well for me. maybe claritinex would be better for me. But with the allergy precriptions I am concerned about the drug interactions, especially with what I take for menstrual cramps. Maybe this is all a simple mistake, but patient preferences should be considered. I also already mentioned this in the feedback form, and the customer service email. Oh, and follow up results will be sent on the portal. Which is ideal for me. I'll also have an appointment in November, and look forward to seeing him then. Overall, Doctor was pleasant and his staff both reception and nurses were pleasant. Highly recommend here! Anything to make doctor visits less stressful!
