The way she captures color is like nothing I have ever seen. Also I am not the most comfortable person in front of a camera but Rebecca made me feel comfortable which for me is very hard. Once I received my photographs I couldn't believe that she captured me in all my silliness and made me look really great. People still comment on her photos that she took and always comment about how amazing they are and they can't believe it's me. Just recently I wanted to have pictures of my Godson taken and there was no question in my mind who I wanted to photography him. The pictures came out beautiful. She captured all the innocence, beauty and tenderness between him and his glowing mom. She even captured a few moments with my Godson and me. I recently had an engagement photo shoot with Rebecca and it was probably one of the most fun and…read morerewarding experiences I've had in a long while. When I first met my partner, I frequently thought about how nice it would have been if someone was around to capture the sweet, tender and loving moments between the two of us. After years of being together, that has finally happened! We were both a bit nervous about this at first because neither of us have really been part of a photoshoot before. We were wondering if it would feel natural or forced, if we would find the photographer intrusive. But after a few short minutes of talking with Rebecca, we felt that we could be ourselves and navigate the shoot with comfort, ease and excitement which is not only a testament to her talent, but also to her amiability and her ability to connect with people on various levels. Rebecca is an incredibly creative person which is evidenced by the composition of the photos. She took photos of my partner and me in Red Hook, Brooklyn, which hosts an amazing contrast between natural beauty, industrial grittiness and interesting colors. In two hours we took photos in a variety of backgrounds, including the pier by the water, cobblestone roads, old and abandoned subway cars, industrial warehouses and street corners. The result? Amazing. When Rebecca, my partner and I first met, we talked a lot about what kind of feeling and aesthetic we were looking for in our photographs. We talked about an ambiguous combination of candid shots, pastoral elements, an urbanscape and a good amount of grit. She understood perfectly what we were looking for and enhanced its greatness with her talent. My partner and I are incredibly happy!!

I'm so glad we decided to hire Johan to film our wedding ceremony! We weren't planning to have a…read morevideographer but at the last minute (about two weeks before the big day) we had a change of heart. I was anxious that it would be to late to find someone who could do justice to the occasion, and to make things more difficult we were on a very tight budget. Johan was very responsive, professional, and easy to communicate with from the get-go. He took the time to understand what we were looking for and really cared about delivering something we would cherish. On our big day he went above and beyond when our plan to capture the sound from our officiant's lav mic didn't go as planned and our vows didn't come through clearly. We only had booked him for an hour to film the ceremony as we were on a tight budget, but he offered to stay and re-record our vows, which I'm so glad we did - he did a ton of extra editing work to meticulously dub the sound over and even added some beautiful and tasteful artistic touches like adding our recessional song to the end which was a really thoughtful addition. Given that we had originally asked him to only deliver raw footage, he definitely went above and beyond (and never asked for a penny more than the original quote)!! It's clear that Johan really cares about his work and wanted to make sure we were happy with the finished product. We will cherish our video for years to come - thank you Johan!
