My family and I were so beyond fortunate to work with Giedre Krulikas Sidrys of Walking Dot Photography. We were in North Carolina under less than ideal circumstances (we chose to evacuate Florida during Hurricane Irma), but when the unexpected opportunity to take family photos with Giedre arose, we didn't hesitate. Having never before taken family photos, we went into the shoot having no idea what to expect. Giedre was phenomenal. Far from taking stilted and forced poses, she allowed our 4 children to roam free and captured their wild enthusiastic joy as naturally as we see it every day. I have never before seen my children smile so beautifully - they were in their element, playing and running races and enjoying themselves tremendously. Giedre captured our family as it truly is, but still managed to coax out the best versions of us. Our favorite photo is of our four children, ages 8, 5, 4, and 10 months. Now, any parent knows that it is so hard to get one child to look at the camera and smile nicely. Giedre caught all four of our children with wide gorgeous grins. We were amazed. And she could not have been more professional. She provided suggestions in advance for wardrobe choices and found an amazing venue to provide our family with the kind of North Carolina fall pictures we just can't ever get in Florida. It was a wonderful experience that we hope to repeat the next time we are in North Carolina. As family photo newbies, it could very well have been an experience full of stress and anxiety. I had a photo shoot with Giedre. This was my first professional photo shoot and I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous and a bit intimidated. I've seen Giedre's body of work before the shoot, so I knew I was in good hands, but I was still uncertain about stepping in front of the lens. All worries were for nothing though! Working with Giedre turned out to be a blast. She was very professional and patient with me even when I felt lost with what to do next, or what pose would look good on film. Years spent watching ANTM didn't seem to help at all. Tyra would have been disappointed. However, Giedre's clear direction and posing tips helped us get some great pictures I am proud to share. My husband and I had our one year anniversary photos taken by Giedre, and I could not have been more impressed the results! She selected an awesome location in Chicago and took the pictures in a wide variety of settings and poses. The worst part of our experience was having to choose our favorite photos at the end - there were just too many that we loved! Not only did she take wonderful photos, but Giedre was a pleasure to work with throughout the process. Gorgeous photos! We hired Giedre for family photos this fall during a mini session. She replied to emails quickly during the planning phase and post-session phases (I had lots of questions and she quickly answered them). She was wonderful to work with and we had so many gorgeous photos to choose from. She got our 4 month smiling, even though she was sleepy and starting to get a little cranky. The prices were reasonable and the turnaround time was a couple weeks - which is great considering it was a busy time of year. We just received the prints we ordered in the mail. Her service doesn't start and end with the photo shoot. Giedre sends out a letter prior to the shoot, giving recommendations on clothing, colors, and accessories to wear to the shoot. She is prompt in editing the photos--my husband and I were able to view a few on Facebook the day of the shoot! My wife and I asked Giedre to take pictures of our family (two of us plus one infant son). She met us in some places around the city that have a special meaning to us and went above and beyond to make sure that we liked the pictures. Giedre photographed one of my first shoots, a couple of Februarys ago in Boston. I wasn't prepared for the weather (a bizarre, unseasonable downpour of rain), but she showed up to the shoot with this awesome transparent bubble umbrella that she'd bought on the way, and we had a blast!
