Trying to get some simple information on the phone from the receptionist at Wallace Street Clinic felt like walking straight into an emotional and physical ambush. It's wild how something so simple... seeking care and getting some straight answers.... can leave you drained and frustrated. When did we start accepting maximum frustration as normal? When did healthcare stop being about care?
The staff (in healthcare and in customer service in other places these days) aren't the enemy. They're cogs in a system designed to obstruct, not to serve. This has become a system that echoes the cold, dehumanizing machinery of a totalitarian regime. Is that really what we want to model in our lives? Is this the future we want for our children, where empathy is crushed under the weight of rigid control?
Every encounter like this erodes our spirit, leaving us all holding ourselves together by sheer willpower. How long can we keep going like this before .... well?..... the system IS clearly already broken so let's say before people wake up? If we want a different future, we need to see this clearly for what it is, and refuse to hand over a world where humanity is forgotten and the worst of authoritarianism becomes our norm. read more
