The teachers/caretakers are what make a school/daycare a good experience or not. Lori and Jessie have been the primary teachers and both are extremely dedicated and care a lot about the children. Lori has always gone the extra mile to keep me updated on my daughter. My daughter runs up to her excited every day. The daycare is tidy/orderly, they do a lot of crafts, they provide healthy snacks, if you forget your kids lunch they won't call you and tell you to bring something, they'll find something for them to eat, etc. They try to be as accommodating as possible. I do think they need another full-time teacher, for support, in case anyone gets sicks, and just to make things easier for them. I also think whoever owns LMA should be more involved in helping the Salem location grow.

After our long search, we couldn't be happier with KELC. The most important characteristic of this provider is the curriculum that begins in the infant room. Our baby came home singing songs, her ABC's, and counting before she moved into the toddler room. She gladly jumps in the arms of her teachers each morning. Our 5 year old is learning to read and write before kindergarten. KELC is on top of early childhood education, and I am incredibly thankful for the effort. The staff have always had a personal relationship with each of our children. They take pictures, send home projects, and have a variety of events throughout the year. This week is Dr. Seuss week. The summer is even more fun! I have always felt the staff are qualified for their roles and are properly coached by the owner to ensure the quality of care is exceptional. I find the structure and routine are valuable. The are offered breakfast for an hour and fifteen minutes every morning, which is such a relief if I'm running late. They have a generous drop off time (10:45!) with the intention of ensuring all children are napping at the scheduled time and not being disruptive. Most importantly, if a child gets sick, they ask you to pick up your child to prevent the spread of illness. I can't imagine how hard it is to keep all the families happy and continue to run a successful child care center. But, your doing great! The teachers created an environment where learning was exciting and children were encouraged to be curious, creative, and independent. We loved seeing our kids come home talking about letters, numbers, science experiments, friendships, and all of the adventures they had during the day. What truly makes Yellow House special is the people. The staff genuinely care about the children and families they serve. Over the years, they celebrated our children's successes, supported us through challenges, and became an important part of our family's story. Five children, six weeks old through age six, and every single experience was exceptional. Cloud Nine has been one of the greatest blessings for our family. We recommend them without hesitation to any parent looking for a safe, loving, and high-quality childcare program.

I don't say this lightly - we have five children who have attended schools all over the country and in India and Abu Dhabi. I think what Abiqua gets right is the balance between a rigorous academic program and a holistic approach to understanding and nurturing the whole child. Whether your child is on the gifted end of the spectrum, somewhere in the middle, or needing additional support - the teachers have proven time and again they will "meet your child where he or she is at." It's not just lip service - we have lived this. We have considered moving out of the Salem area several times and two factors keep us here, one of which is the extraordinary education our children are receiving at Abiqua. I wish every single school in Salem provided the same experience - all children deserve this kind of education.
