Within a week, she came to our home to assess our needs and the available space. With her help, we designed a closet that would work for our needs and gave us the space we wanted. The design process was (gasp) fun, and we could see the closet take shape as elements were added, moved, or changed. Two weeks later, our closet was installed. Krystal was great to work with, and gave us some really great advice about how best to use our space. The installation folks were timely, well organized, and professional. The closets look fantastic. Better yet, we managed to move over a dozen dresser drawers worth of clothes into the new closet without crowding or overfilling the available space. Everything has a place, everything is easily accessible, and everything looks neat and tidy. We were able to get rid of four dressers! Full marks for Krystal and the installation crew. The price? Much much less than we thought it might be. We should have done this years ago!

She neglected to incorporate the sizes of our current drawers and only match the number we had in our old closet. Needless to say, we have less storage than before. Also, we were suppose to get a free upgrade to the wood finish, however they claim we didn't want the upgrade and the installed the horrible cheap white! When we complained, they immediately charged out credit card for the final 50%!!! Visa told us since we preauthorized them for the deposit, they could charge for the remainder whenever they want and unless we prove they have not installed the proper product, we are stuck. We'll their product codes for finishes and colors are only known to them and not mentioned in their contracts. IKEA sells better systems than California Closets. Also, they said since we are disputing the colour and we are "trouble" they are voiding out warranty!!! RUN AWAY!

We are…read moreextremely pleased with the look of our home, as well as the craftsmanship and detail of the work that Jed Johnson (owner), and his crew performed. The prep work that was done was exceptional. Jed Johnson is also experienced in construction, as well as working with design builders. His understanding of how a home is constructed makes for a higher caliber of painting professional. Jed was able to help preserve the exterior wood trim, and added additional weatherproofing to our shutters and gables. Home has been caulked to the Nth degree. Most downspouts and all the shutters were removed in order to paint the underlying wood trim. Then as the shutters and downspouts were replaced, the screw holes were caulked for further waterproofing. The wood trim was back brushed, which makes for a smoother and thicker coating of paint, which also will last much longer than sprayed on. Jed and his crew went the extra mile on everything. Jed found several areas where leaks could potentially cause problems and made repairs. For the first time in the history of our home- it is now watertight. The crew was very professional, courteous and hardworking. The guys worked just as hard and consistently even when Jed was not on-site. The estimate for our home was much more reasonable than the bids I had gotten from other contractors. Painting was completed in a timely fashion, when the weather permitted. I highly recommend Ashlar Painting and Building services. Our home now looks better than it did when it was new.
