Walmart seems to no longer value customers who want a cashier to ring in their purchases. Only had 1 cashier open. Took over 30 minutes to check out. While its nice to offer self check outs you should not ignore those customers who still want a cashier. If this continues I will take my shopping to another store who still values customers like myself. read more

My grandfather went there to get his eyes checked. He is a very sweet man and was very worried and decided to go to the pharmacy in Walmart. The the pharmacy worker told him there was nothing wrong and that his eye was just decreasing in jelliness, which explains why he couldn't see. Today he went to the optometrist and found out he needed emergency surgery and that his retina was detaching from his eye. He is now blind. read more

Horrible experience here. I don't live in Airdrie, so it's very fair to say i will never be visiting this location ever again. I went to grab two items for my bunny. I approached the checkout and this young girl, 18-20 was working. Long light-orange hair, pale skin, skinny. She was checking my stuff out for me. The first act of disrespect was when she put the litter on the counter next to her, it was below her, so she dropped it. I didn't say anything because I thought maybe she thought it was lighter. When I gave her my money to pay for my items, she said, "you know we require masks in here, right?" Once again, I have a medical condition that prohibits me from wearing any face covering. So I kindly replied, "oh yeah I know, I just have a medical exemption. I can't wear masks unfortunately." And she said, "you still need to wear one." and I replied, "I can't... I have an exemption, I have my card if you need to see it..?" And she started getting short and rude. She said sharply, "what's your exemption." To which I was shocked. And i said, "that's none of your business." and she started yelling at me telling me i need a mask and i couldn't be in there. Everyone was staring it was quite uncomfortable. So she got mad and said, "I can't do this." and literally just walked away. Without giving me my change back. It's very unkind and very awful when ablesists are allowed working at stores and restaurant chains. I understand millions of people have suffered tragically from this virus, as have I. I have lost relatives because of this plague. But to be shamed because I medically can not wear a face covering, is incredibly discriminatory and very appalling. That experience was shocking, and disgusting. I hope she got fired for that. She was yelling at a paying customer. For someone to walk into a store, and buy products that you are selling, a fraction of my money is being sent to her. As a paying customer, I deserve to be respected and not discriminated against. read more

This is the king of all Walmarts in the region. The Airdrie Walmart Supercentre has everything and at good prices. It's not as great as the American ones where you can buy liquor and guns and groceries and anything you want, but it's our best hope. They do offer groceries at this location and anything else you can imagine a department store selling. They even have products you can't find in the more urban Walmarts. It's worth a trip to if you need everything.... read more

Best Walmart in my opinion in Calgary and area. Clean. Decent staff. Food is well stocked. Clothes are neat and well laid out. Change rooms are cleaner than any other location. I live in Calgary and drive to this location for the above reasons. read more

This Walmart Supercenter is probably my fave Walmarts in the Calgary area. Their shelves are always stocked, there are employees actually on the floor if you need anything and this place is GINORMOUS - I could easily wander around here for 3 hours and not be bored. However, huge diesel trucks with the dangling metal bull testicles double parked in the lots will give you the indication of the clientele also wandering aimlessly inside. I'm pretty sure this location is where all those "People of Walmart" photos originated. I've made the mistake of coming here a few times on the weekend in the afternoon - the hoards of people decked out in their finest sweat pants struggling to push their carts full of kids while their other kids are running every which way screaming down aisles makes my ovaries shrivel up like raisins. So if you want to get some efficient shopping done, hit this place up early on the weekend or during the weekday/night. Otherwise, if you're looking to do some people watching and maybe make your own submissions to POW, feel free to take a seat at the McDonald's or Tim's located just inside the entrances. read more

I get all my video games from here, the electronics staff are really friendly and educated on the products and they talked me into to buying MW3, which is one of my favourite games till this day. This store is bad! Not only do you hear from people who work here saying they hate it, but from people who shop on a regular basis. They treat the staff like garbage, which is why there is never enough staff to run till because they all quit. It doesn't help when your looking for things and ask a staff member, they have no clue where the item is. Maybe if this store treated the staff better, and gave them raises, which I know they don't, then your staff would be happier coming to work. I have known countess of people who have worked at this location and its the same thing. Managers are rude to you, elder staff(People who have worked there for a long time) treat you badly. Your greeters, one of them in general, an older lady, tall, gray hair, very hard looking face with wrinkles, is the worst. I went in at 10pm(They close at 11pm) to grab diapers because I wasn't able to get them the next day due to a busy schedule, and she gave me shit for coming in so late and informed me I needed to hurry up and get out. Lady, I have an hour to grab what I need, don't tell me to move my ass. Some staff try to help you, and are generally nice when you have an issue. Other's I have dealt with are just plain rude. It's a good thing that todays society could give two f**ks about that goes on because it is our thing to grab what we need and leave. It's nice to know your paying people to say "I don't know" and "I think its over there, but I could be wrong" I love walking into a Walmart and going into departments where staff just stand around and stare at you while your shopping, no help, no nothing. You have to go get someone to help you if you need something. It's a good thing there are other places to shop in this city because if I had to resort to using this Walmart to shop all the time, I would pull my hair out. I have shopped faithfully at the Walmart since it opened. In the past 6 months, the shopping experience leaves a lot to be desired. On 3 separate occasions I have picked something off the shelves that are shown to be a certain price & then at the checkout they are a higher price. When I question it & they do a price check, it seems the price has changed in the period of time between putting it in my cart & actually getting to the checkout. Only once was the price I paid what I expected to pay. The thing that has me really upset at the moment is that my husband & I were debating getting the extended warranty on an electronic CD player. The cashier said that we didn't have to decide right then - we had 30 days to purchase it. I went in today to purchase the warranty & was told that I couldn't, it should have been bought at time of purchase. If they'd have had more in stock I would have returned the one we bought & purchased another & bought the warranty right then. I've still got 2 weeks to decide whether I'm keeping it or not! The feeling I'm getting from this store is that as a customer, I don't matter at all. I spend a lot of money monthly at this store - I now plan on spending it somewhere else!! read more
