The services here hasn't really changed all that much over the course of several years. The staff members are usually pretty much or at least friendly enough. But the tidbit I have is a few issues I have to pick with these guys. One of which is something I've complained about, which is that the cart thing is still an issue. It is very common for the carts to be non-existent because people refuse to put it back. This is more of an issue inside the store. Secondly, don't even bother with their website when visiting the stores because sometimes their items is mismatched to what's actually in the store like their Onn tablet where they're suppose to be 4th gen as stated on their website but what their signs in their store's electronics department, it says its the 3rd gen. Lastly, their values on foods aren't even affordable anymore. So many prices seems to be somewhat comparable to other grocery store chain. Not all the time but felt like they could've lowered the prices quite a bit more but chose to raise the prices because people are willing to pay for them. I get inflation BUT felt like since they're such a large company, you'd figure they have a much more stronger negotiating power than most of the other companies they're competing with. This location, the only GOOD thing I have to say is that occasionally if you are looking for food, they do offer a decent amount of selections of their own Great Value brands in the freezer aisle, like their $9.98 buttermilk chicken, meatballs and so forth. I've been to this Walmart numerous times in the past 15 years but my experience on May 26th 2025 was very different. I won't say I've always had a great experience at this Walmart but I had also never had a horrible experience; usually it's just mediocre. (This is why I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1) Long story short, the employee at the checkout counter was rude and disrespectful to my aunt and I. She suggested the Walmart credit card and I said "no thank you" and then she asked for donations and again I said "no thank you". She proceeded to say in a condescending voice "so you don't want to help kids who don't have parents and are orphans" and made a face towards us and rolled her eyes. I respectfully told her "no thank you" and she said it one more time and this time I told her "we help and donate in other ways". And then she rolled her eyes at us. She then preceded to say "you didn't know what I was going to say regarding the details of the credit cards" which I responded "yes I did, because l've been coming here for almost 2 decades and know about the details of the credit card and the donations." She continued to give us attitude and talk in a disrespectful tone. This employee treated us as if we had done something wrong by saying we didn't want the credit card or to donate. Usually when employees offer credit cards or donations and customers say "no", they say "okay" and don't continue the conversation. But this employee continued badgering us even after we provided her our reasoning for why we didn't want the credit card or to donate (we didn't even owe her an explanation but we still provided her with one in hopes of ending the conversation). Even after we had paid she continued questioning us and giving us a lecture before handing us our receipt. read more

I'm only giving two stars for two reasons one I asked an employee for help and she couldn't be bothered to even acknowledge me, and two at least this time you didn't try to accuse me of theft like the time I bought two pairs of jeans and YES i PAID for them and YES I had my RECEIPT! Had Joyce been bothered to even acknowledge me or said I can call someone I'd give a better rating but she didn't care. Turns out your website was wrong to boot so I went to Michaels and got the same item with five star service and a smile. You could use some lessons in customer service from Michaels. Not only do they greet me warmly, they asked me how they could help, and I told them what I was looking for. She got another lady to help me. That was a great experience and I'll recommend them a thousand times over you. Yeah they're probably a bit more expensive but they actually know how to treat the customers and that's what people remember when they shop! read more

The worst customer service I've ever encountered anywhere. Ever. On more than one occasion, I've had someone checking my items walk away when they see someone they know and talk to. Or, if you're unlucky, if they have someone they know at the checkout who proceeds to spend 10-15 minutes being meticulously attended to while everyone else is barely acknowledged. I get it, this is Walmart, no one is shopping there because they like to but moreso they've driven out other businesses, or it's just a matter of cost. Typically, I don't like using self-checkout but to save myself a touch of sanity, that is 100% what I will do when and if I go back. read more

I find it interesting to check out Walmarts in different countries. I still have a canvas reusable shopping bag from my time in Quebec ten years ago and I was hoping to add to that. Sadly, I didn't see any reusable bags that were interesting. Otherwise, the store was quite similar to the ones in the US. Mostly the same products, though labels are different (and in French!). my husband went into this Walmart to buy somethings, he got me some pita I was craving, it was moldy blue made me physically ill. I called the location to let them know, but no answer after the third call I was a bit upset and told the csr how no one answered she said"so what", extremely rude. I than called head office they gave me the run around till I spoke to someone in the USA who was very nice but put me through to someone dealing in online purchase I asked him for the complaint department but he gave me 778-338-5864 ( which is online pick up!) so wasn't able to complain. My complaint is with the checkout service I experienced today. I needed some assistance with the bagging of the 33 items that I bought. The lady cashier would not lift one item to help me pack but treated me like I was a nuisance. She has done this before and even when I asked her to help she treated me like I was asking the impossible. Why is it that I now have to bypass this employee every time I go shopping? January 9 2025 I went to cosmetic department. I asked Samaneh the staffer on duty about a waterproof mascara. I live in Canada so when I shop in local stores, I expect the people employed in those stores to understand and speak either English or French. This woman could not even understand what the word "Waterproof" means. I left the store and will think long and hard before I return since this is not the first time I have run into the problem with staff not speaking or understanding English. Called maybe 12 times no exaggerating and each time was answered as a brief pick up the phone I hear talking in the background and then hang up. On the 13th call I waited about 7 minutes this time somebody actually answered and the reason I was calling was because I had ordered something online and it said it would be there ready to pick up on the 19th of February which was yesterday, so I live in Lynn valley and Walmart's way down in Caplano. It's a bit of a drive/ inconvenience/ negative impact on the environment, and it wasn't there yesterday when it was supposed to be. Anyways, so it's the 20th now and I don't want to drive in again to find out that my items haven't arrived. So I've sat on hold for the last 2 hours. It's not even hold, they just don't answer the phone. And when they get annoyed with it it seems like they pick it up and hang it up. One lady that answered the phone asked me for the order number and she said oh let me go check that for you and then she hung up the phone, then I had to call back five more times each waiting anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes before I got disconnected or hung up on until I finally reached somebody who explained that there will be an email issued when my package is ready for pickup. This place is a joke I hate to say it but this is why I would rather shop on amazon. read more

Just found an article from the LA Times about a lawsuit filed by the California attorney general and a dozen district attorneys that alleges Walmart has dumped nearly 80 tons of hazardous waste, plus confidential customer information, in California landfills each year over the last five years. Definitely worth a read. As always, do your own research and come to your own conclusions, but I personally would not support this corporation any longer. read more

The one Walmart I actually like to come to, and the one where I actually find things I actually buy. Out at Capilano Mall, I never mind coming here, maybe it is where it is located, or maybe the lack of normal 'Walmart' traffic. You don't deal with the mad rush and waves of people you have at the one near me (the Supercentre), and I guess due to this, you find the things that are actually advertised here and in stock. Sometimes they leave things in the main walkways on their unpealed containers coming in as new stock. Maybe they don't have enough people working here. But they are good when this place does get busy, and have most of the checkout tills running. They also have a McDonald's in the back, if your hungry, and open till after the mall is closed. read more

I was rather surprised to read all the negative reviews of this Walmart store, as my family and I were very pleasantly surprised by how good our experience was shopping here. We were surprised how well-stocked all the shelves were, and the huge variety of merchandise here. We were surprised how well-organized this store was, with clear signage directing us to the desired departments and aisles. We were surprised how helpful and available the floor employees were. When I asked a guy where the garlic bread was located, for example, he told me to follow him and we walked 1/4 the store floor to where the item was (even though I told him he could just tell me the area). Same thing happened with another staff member when I asked where a specific clothing item was. Helpful! I was surprised how efficient and friendly the check-out lady was. I wasn't surprised how low all the prices were. Perhaps this store cleaned up its act, or perhaps I just came here on a "good" day, or perhaps I'm just used to the chaos and mess and drama in ALL the US Walmart stores I've ever been to, but this North Vancouver store was one of the best Walmarts we have been to! read more

Food delivery sucks. The delivery guy dumped the box full of groceries on my floor and disappeared without letting me double check if everything was there. One item was missing. I tried to call. Nobody picked up the phone for about a half hour, while they kept disconnecting me. It is icy out there. I can't drive, so I ordered what I needed for a few days. The delivery fee is quite high and you get such a lousy service. This was the last time I ordered food from Walmart. Finally, I could speak with somebody who had a very thick Indian accent. I assume she was located in India and she promised to give me a refund. But I would prefer to get the items instead of the refund. This means I don't have all the food I need and will HAVE to drive to the food store which I was trying to avoid. TOTALLY USELESS. Never again Walmart grocery ordering. Edit: I just noticed I paid for 6 peaces ORGANIC bananas and they delivered 5 regular ones. I am not going to complain about this. It is not worth my time. Walmart wants to compete with Amazon. It's Walmart in Capilano Mall. A place where you can get $0.97 bags of salt and vinegar potato chips, and $0.67 cucumbers. A store within walking distance of my apartment, where I can pick up a pack of orange wafers, a shower curtain, coffee, an oscillating fan, paper towels, a nose hair trimmer and an Egg McMuffin all in a 20 minute visit. Probably for under $50, too. Not to mention, I can pay pretty quickly by using one of 10 automated machines (never once having to remove my headphones.) Their machines are some of the best of their kind I've encountered. Let's not forget though, Walmart is also the source of pretty much all the content on www.peopleofwalmart.com (Note: Luckily, our North Vancouver location is not responsible for very much of what's found on this site.) Walmart's focus is value. They are all about rolling back prices. Their house-brand is called "Great Value"... They are NOT in the luxury service business. So take it for what it is and enjoy the good prices on just about everything. You shouldn't go into Walmart expecting to be treated like royalty. If you do, you're going to have a bad time. Lower your expectations, and enjoy the many positives of Walmart Cap Mall. Or don't. They really don't need your business anyways. read more

Very disappointed with the customer service I had at this location. I was interested in furniture item that didn't have any price tag so I attempted to ask for some assistance from an associate. When I finally found someone I said "excuse me" and she didn't respond so I said it again. The closest Walmart to my house. I come here quite often but I always find it an issue if you are looking for help. I mean its hard to locate someone and when you do, you feel like they are bringing you for a tour before they take you to where you want. This Walmart is huge. Its located inside Capilano Mall. I suggest parking outside Walmart entrance. I mean its not fun walking through the mall if you end up buying a lot of things. They do have a photography section. I mean you can get your passport photo or even family photos taken here. But you do need an appointment for that. read more

Terrible. I ordered groceries from this store from Instacart. I ordered 26 things of which they only had 12 of them. They had literally no stock of anything organic, or anything I chose and what they had as options were not even comparable and to top it off, what they did have were brands that were twice as much for the same size as what I originally ordered. Things are easy to find. Very clean store. A larger super center you can find everything you're looking for. This particular store I found not as busy as most Walmart Stores. The clothing selection here is not the greatest. It's an okay store. Nothing spectacular. read more

I went into this Walmart last week. On one of their shelves were several PS4's with a price tag in front of them that read $219.83. When I asked about it, the cashier told me I was wrong and that I should have known that the price was incorrect when it rang up at $449.99. He tore the tag in half and said that it was MY fault for not reading the number correctly. (How do you read a price incorrectly? It was the only price on the shelf!) We asked to speak with a manager. The manager who came told both the cashier and myself that Walmart would honour the incorrect price, and that I could purchase it for $219. When the cashier rang up the item he needed an override, and the manager who came for that told me that they would not be honouring the incorrect price. That it was my fault for not reading it properly, and that I could have $10 off instead as that was policy (DESPITE another manager just telling me that the policy would be to match the price). When I asked about what the first manager had promised, she told me that "He didn't know what he was talking about", and that $10 was the only thing she could do for me. Walmart apparently has no idea what their policy is if I'm being told multiple things, and badmouths the other managers and blames the customer if they don't like what the other one gave as an answer. read more

Store merchandise which are going downhill in quality fast since renovations! Very unprofessional mechanics and Manager! Products (varied - from water bottles, desk chairs, vaccuums etc.): Very very cheap, hollow, engineering issues, and fall apart or break easily made that every week I'm returning an item which means time lost in line-ups, finding parking, gas used, and my patience. Mechanics incompetant and illiterate: Took only 4 yrs old brand new car to get a simple oil change that I have gotten over 15 years with the the other car - except as of a few years ago things have gone downhill. I was given attitude for requesting certain oil that works with my car, and then the wrong oil was put in the car (right on the engine - look, see me?!!!) and tires pumped to higher than normal even for the season, with some other numerous mistakes. During the past 15 years the majority of the time they check things off on the form but haven't actually done it. My windshield wiper was broken and they would tick it off as ok. They don't fill out the forms ie. tire air etc. They don't remind you to rotate your tires or any other things to look for until they are worn out etc. being a new owner and having read the manual I forgot since its been a few years. I went in to complain and before I got there, the manager pounced on me, didn't help me and just wanted to open a claim, and I asked for a refund which happened although with my signature and initials so I don't sue them that I personally asked for a certain oil and the guy put in what he wanted which was completely wrong. Three other guys show up (they were vultures and seemed to be highly aware of me even before I could introduce myself...weird...scarey...odd much? and they never gave me my records and receipt - one could not read the form to fill it out so I filled it out. One guy who had been there for 15 years and a new guy fought over who was not going to do the oil change in front of me. I waited and watched. They did not fill up the other liquids as a courtesy and did put a higher quality oil in that I did not ask for...basically you take a new car and damage the engine but hey, let's save $ on the liquids. The car has not been the same and I wish karma on that section of walmart. The employees are badly trained and not reprimanded. The Manager won't initial my document but made me initial it..tricky. Very upsetting and disturbing experience. I choose to go to my dealer and spend the extra $20 knowing the car is handled professionally. read more

Went in today to pick up something quick. Saw a stock "BOY" tagging items. I say Boy not due to age, because although this person appeared to be an adult sized male, he was mentally as socially incompetent as a young boy!! Went over, to very politely I might add, ask him where the item may be found. I said "Excuse me, do you know where or if you even have..." I had barely said 4 words when I noticed he was moving his hand in a circular fashion implying I need to hurry up and ask my question without much fluff!!! Well that was plain and simple rude. I have one thing to say to you little man, you may have misinterpreted your job title. Although you deal with stock, we are speaking of Walmart inventory not the New York Stock Exchange so I'm sure you didn't have such urgent matters to attend to that a minute of your time would have caused you such grief! A+ for the staff here! They are always on top of the cashiers so that people don't have to wait long in line. This is more or less a general opinion about walmart not this specific location. Since im on a budget I find walmart always has something I need at a cheaper price compared to some other stores. I sometimes find myself using the price scanner to double check prices of sale items. I had a incident once where I bought a item that was displayed with a sale price. But when the cashier scanned it, it was entered in as the original price. The cashier said she couldn't do anything about it and I'd have to go to customer service. so I customer service I had to show them the sale price displayed and vs my receipt and then go through the return/refund process. Staff in general is 50/50 in regards to friendliness, and helpfulness. Stock varies, most of the time shelves are full but on the odd day where you see an empty shelf, there is no one restocking or no attempt to restock anyway. Like any big brand/box store, it's what you'd expect. I'll give it 3/5 based on the fast they always have something you need at low prices read more

Guilty. I have never been to a Wal-Mart until I moved here. This place is pretty handy when you're looking for anything on a budget. I have found a few nice pieces of clothing hiding among the ridiculously mass-produced heaps of ugly clothes. I'm here ONLY when I'm in North Vancouver to check on my stuff in storage at a nearby warehouse. So far, I seem to always find something to buy there. They do have awesome low prices on everyday products in everyday brands. That is no lie! I pick up the same Maybelline mascara there for $7.00 and at Shopper's for $10.00. I won't comment on the customer service, although the change room ladies have been quite pleasant the few times I've used it. Unless you're going in there with a shopping list and/or you're looking for something specific, there isn't usually a need for floor staff. The Wal Mart in Capilano Mall is a handy stopping place when I'm on a bike ride or after my Weight Watchers meeting. My thinner husband loves candy and there is no place cheaper to pick up 4 packs of his fave sweet snax than good old Wally World. Their selection is also second to no one. Yes I know they're supposed to be so evil and all, so go ahead and call me evil for shopping there, I'm not going to stop. Last time I was in the store a couple of weeks ago they were just on the cusp of some major renovations, to expand the grocery section I think, not to "supercenter" size but to make it more competitive I guess. So this spring and summer beware, it will be even more jumbled than it usually is. I have always received great service, which translates to friendly and attentive cashiers. I don't think any floor staff have ever spoken to me, not that I see many of them. I do have one minor quibble, when I enter the store from the mall I have to hunt for the blue shopping baskets. The funniest thing happened - I go to the self serve checkout, all prepared. Pressed 'Finished and Pay' and then swoops in this 'Team member' who reverses something, pressed 'Finished and Pay' AGAIN!!!!! And then proceeded to press all the other buttons (preventing me from getting cash back), because she though I needed help only because I hesitated for a millisecond. Apparently my girlfriend who was also going through self serve had the same experience with the same woman. FFS, Walmart if we need help we'll ask for it!!!! read more

Yes I am a fan of Wal mart. I also noted that seniors are now and I mean 80 year little old ladies carrying 3 bags to the street where they catch their bus. If you charge for a buggy then have a drop off at the bus stop where they can transfer their purchases to the bus and you have a collection point for those seniors I'm a senior and it's a problem for me but I'm in shape OK Frank W. When Walmart opened in North Vancouver (quite a few years ago) there were plenty of helpful staff in their identifiable blue aprons on hand to help out. Now forget about getting any help of any kind; it has gone downhill monotonically and shows no hope of recovering. Lately in the store the shelves have been bare or close to bare in many departments (this even made the mainstream news in the business pages). Furthermore calling them on the phone to ask a quick question will mean never having your call answered. I just got off the phone after trying five times to the main switchboard and/or various departments. Not a single pickup after 10-15 rings in each case. If you're willing to serve yourself entirely with no help whatsoever then this is the store for you. BTW, some of the other reviews on this store look to me like they were staged to raise their overall rating. read more
