I love the produce and Asian products. Anusha, an associate, ruined my initial experience at this grocery store. I'm rounding down. A few Saturdays ago, after dropping off a couple of items at the Markham Household Hazardous Waste Depot, I needed to get groceries. I did something different and sought out a grocery store that I had never visited. I settled for this Walmart in Richmond Hill. This Walmart is with a bunch of box stores. I used to frequent this area often years ago. I remember when this store used to be a Sam's Club. It was extremely busy in the parking lot on a Saturday afternoon. I parked a fair distance away from the main entrance. Unlike my usual Walmart in Markham in the Boxgrove area that doesn't require any coin to unlock a shopping cart, this place requires a 25-cent deposit to unlock one. I had a quarter in my wallet and put it to good use. I will say that I like the produce section a lot. It's probably because it features Al Premium products. The celery that I got was healthy and in pristine condition. The avocados looked good. Prices were decent. The fruit section was excellent. I got strawberries and cherries. I also saw dragon fruit and lychee. What ruined my experience was Anusha, an associate. I was walking next to a long fridge. It had ended, so there was a slight gap between my cart, with me behind it, and the next fridge to my right. This woman wanted to pass me on the right side between my cart and the open fridge. Really? I'm technically pushing a cart on the right. How about pass on the left like a normal human being would have done?! Anusha was rude. She had to wait in front of the fridge, with my cart and me moving forward. Just a weird move on her part. I gave her a puzzled stare. I loved the Asian section. I got gyoza that were delicious when I heated them up at home. I got black garlic ramen that I love. This place has a ton of ramen varieties that it was almost overwhelming! A good supermarket with Asian products has to have Pei Pa Koa. This store had the large bottles. Whenever I have a sore throat that leads to a horrible cough, this product is the only one that works wonders for me. I loved seeing it here. I got snacks I grabbed a bottle of peanuts. I also got a couple of boxes of Dare cookies. There was a clearance section as I headed toward the checkout. It looked so chaotic, as if a huge fan was trying to blow all products on the display shelves and it succeeded. It was so messy that I didn't even bother looking at whatever discounts were there. Also unlike my regular Walmart in Markham, this one didn't have any humans at the checkout area to help customers cash out. Rather, the self-checkout kiosks were encouraged. I had no problem scanning my items. I then paid with a credit card. I bagged everything with my reusable bags and then headed to my car to load my purchases into it. I was parked next to the shopping cart return area. I got my quarter back. I then left. I love the products here. It sadly took a Walmart associate to ruin my experience. She needs to realize that she is representing Walmart and trying to play chicken with my cart isn't cutting it. I hope that other associates working at this store aren't like her. One of my favourite Walmart to shop around. It's a Superstore so it is a huge and much bigger. Lots of wide spaces to walk in between aisles. The store carries a lot more inventory and I have more luck finding items when they are on sale at this location than at the other Walmart. It also has a huge grocery section: bakery, meat, fruits, veggies, seafood etc. I also like their self checkout though they always seemed to close half of it. Lots of parking space as the lot shares with other sotres. The lot is always half empty towards the back. The only thing I wish is that it would be close to me :) read more

Hadn't been to this location in years and we noticed that they rearranged everything on the inside as well as the main entrance which was moved. Was the change for the better? I don't know. We did notice the availability of certain things in the food department that one may not find in other Wallys such as the fish department or the butcher/meat counter. One thing which they can improve upon are their employees' mannerism. They all look like sourpusses. In the words of Heath Ledger's Joker..."Why so serious???" The guy who was at the door when we were leaving, just stared at us like an imbecile. Most other Wallys have folks who literally say good-bye and smile. read more

I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience at this Walmart location. While checking out, a cashier told me I had spent over $50 and qualified for a "$45 bonus." She made it sound like a simple promotion or points program. She didn't clearly explain that this was actually an application for a Walmart Rewards Mastercard, not a regular store bonus card. She quickly led me to a self-checkout station and, without properly explaining the details, entered my personal information and submitted a credit card application on my behalf. She also inaccurately reported my income on the application. I was misled into thinking I would receive a $45 credit just for signing up and using the card within 7 days. Only later did I find out I had to make multiple purchases (both at Walmart and elsewhere) and enroll in paperless billing to qualify for the full bonus. I received zero paper documentation or explanation about the card, the terms, or the conditions of the promotion. Nothing was handed to me or reviewed before the application was submitted. Now I'm stuck with a credit card I never wanted, with a 26% interest rate, and canceling it would harm my credit score because it was just opened. The whole process felt deceptive, rushed, and highly unethical, especially for customers who aren't familiar with how credit card signups work. There was no proper consent or full disclosure. This is not how any financial product, especially a credit card, should be offered. I feel tricked and taken advantage of. It's a Walmart! That is all! I wish that is all I had to say for a review. Why am I reviewing this Walmart? Is is outstanding? Is it bad? Is it particularly notable? Nope... Then why the write up? To STOP YELP from keep recommending a review of the place for every time I check in... LOL! For those of who need to know, this Walmart was one of the miserably FAILED Walmart's SAM'S CLUB. The place was converted from it and they used the awkward layout of the place for a long time. The worst part about it was the main entrance was next to the intersection that leads to all the other stores in the strip mall and was prone to chaos. Over the pandemic lockdowns, this Walmart renovated and now it's way better laid out. It's smaller than other Walmart superstores but why does it need to be the size of a small town anyway? All in all... Still not getting excited about the place though... I go there for quick grocery shopping, or that little thing I need that I can't wait for Amazon to deliver. I usually have things delivered from here but I heard that doing something called walking about is exercise and lord knows I need it. Pricing as usual is decent here. Walmart does save me on standard grocery items and some produce. With foodflation hitting new highs, we can use a break. So far, at this location, I have not seen any of those "Meanwhile at a Walmart..." meme moments that are throughout the US, but then again, I wouldn't want to be anywhere near a place that sells firearms next to the diapers...! Next to No Frills, Walmart is our go to for an 'in and out experience as of today, there are limited line ups and cab go right in without any issues. With the majority of isles now blocked off due to government mandates, you are now limited to mostly pharmacy and food items. From a cost perspective, a but more variety as I believe there are a number of items fro. The US (could be wrong) including fruits and veggies. A little more on the price side for those if compared to No Frills. With the renovation done last year, you now have a more robust butcher and fresh fish stations, with some reasonable helpful staff on the other side. Overall, a good alternative to your usual supermarkets. And if you are shy of long line ups, you aren't likely to find those here as of writing -Zuk read more

This review is for the Christmas photo centre promotions. I had ordered three 4x6 magnets and five 6x8 greeting cards on Nov 27 & 28. The order confirmation email stated: "For ship to store orders, please wait for the "Ready for Pick Up" email before coming to the store to pick up your order!" I therefore did not go to the store to inquire about my order and waited. However, after a month and not hearing back I called customer service to inquire about my orders. I was told that they were missed and would be forwarded to a resolution team and that I'd be hearing from them. I did not hear back and called the store today to see if they had my orders. They did not. I called back customer service and was told first, there was no record of my follow up call and second, that my orders had been cancelled. I did not receive any notification of my orders being cancelled. I was also told that since there were promotions at the time and many orders had been placed supplies had probably run out. I was told that my orders and photos had already been deleted and were no longer in the system. The woman offered me $5 discount code if I ordered $10 worth of product. This does not make up for the fact that those orders were supposed to be sent out to family and friends for Christmas and obviously, now they could not. I don't see why they could not honour the deal that I had used to make my orders. I'm quite disappointed in the service and care I have received. I dislike doing this but it's 7:51 in the morning and the last thing I expect is to be at this time is racially profiled. Went into this Walmart to pick up a few things and was shopping around the entertainment aisle to replace a beat up case I had. An attendant came around not to offer any help but to watch me. While I continued my shopping, through the other aisles, she dipped and dodged around corners spying on me and followed me around. She thought I only noticed her in the cereal aisle, no I saw her from the moment I picked up cat food to picking up some pineapple slices. And she made it a point to be at the exit at the cash out like some security. No money spent that day, thank you to her for providing me more reason to shop at other places and to ditch Walmart. As Walmarts go, this was good. I never buy fruit or vegetables from Walmart but what they had looked acceptable. Store was clean. "International Aisle" had a lot of bare shelves/spaces. The meat was in a closed refrigeration unit, not in an open cooler, which I liked. The electronic products were a cut above and great prices. Got a slow cooker (small, for 2 people) for less than $16.00. The electronics section was well maintained. Vitamins never seem to go on sale at Walmart unless I've missed them. This Walmart is under going renovation and it's very dusty so if you don't want your items to have dust on it I would suggest to shop at another location. As well the dairy section is currently at the very back of the store, it is quite a trek if you just want to go there to pick up a bag of milk. My go to Walmart but it is not as good as the one on Major Mac, there is no fresh bakery section. :( The CSR at the customer service desk was rude, once they didn't label the price properly, so I assumed it was per a bag but they charged per lb and they wouldn't acknowledged their mistake. read more

It's a surprisingly quiet day at Walmart today (just before noon) considering many things close early today and are closed tomorrow for New Years Day. This Walmart location is quite big and hence, have a wide selection of items including groceries and fresh produce. On the other hand, because they're undergoing major renovations at this time, the place is a little bit chaotic and things are sometimes hard to find. On the bright side, this construction has led them to open up a different main entrance and with it, some new parking spots in the lot of which are freshly paved. I once asked a store employee where to find veggie dogs and was given an aisle number only to discover I had been directed to the pet supply aisle...both funny and sad! Twice I was told by cashiers that it's not their job to put my groceries in the reusable bags I bring. When I asked the store manager, he said cashiers are responsible for bagging purchases whether we use Walmart plastic bags or reusable bags. I suggest the cashiers be better trained. Sigh! At 10 pm I spoke to the night manager about the above issue. He said I needed to speak to the day manager who was still on duty. I pointed to the time (i.e. night) and laughed but he didn't see the humour of a night manager who can't help me at night. Regardless of the above incidents, I'm a regular shopper here. I love their price matching policy and their reasonable prices. The store has almost everything I want (more pre-made food would be nice), tons of parking and convenient hours. I find the Grocery Pick Up staff at this Walmart store to be truly outstanding. Best store in the city. Yes that's right, I said grocery pick-up! You mean you haven't tried grocery pick up yet? It's so simple and convenient. I shop for all my groceries, frozen food, canned goods, dairy, meat, produce, and general mechandise, on the Walmart app when it's convenient for me, including in my boxers, at 3 a.m. after coming home from playing a live gig with my band. :) Then I simply schedule my pickup for whenever I like, as early as the next day for orders before 1am, or up to two weeks in advance, and when I show up at the store I selected, I phone the number on the sign to tell them I am parked in the pick up area, and they come out to my car and load all my groceries in my trunk. All I do is just drive away! What could be simpler and more convenient than that? No more wandering around the store trying to find what I'm looking for, no more asking for directions or help finding products, no more lining up waiting for a cashier, or trying to figure out which lane is moving the fastest. Now my total time at the store is literally 5 minutes or less, sitting in my car, even for a large bi-weekly grocery order. Even if something is not stocked at my local store, they will deliver it right to my door, at no extra charge, in a few days. So why not five stars? Walmart gets their fifth star when they make every item in the store and in the sale flyer always available for online shopping. Many things are, but some are not, like some deli and bakery items, rotisserie chickens, for example. Come on Walmart, you can get these items on your website in the same amount of time it takes to print those sale flyers! Note: unlike the pics I posted earlier, they have moved the pick-up parking to the east end of the building, because in-store shoppers found the pick-up parking spots impossible to resist for quick visits, problem solved. How much does all this manual labor, finding, packing, loading, and service, cost me, you ask? How does $0 sound? Yep, now if you spend just $50 and the service is FREE! And they prohibit tipping of any kind, (no matter how hard you try), plus you can still price-match sale prices from any major supermarket flyer by email for a rebate of the difference, so this is such a smart choice, both economical and a very efficient use of your time. Came by to stock up on goods. Of all Walmart locations. This is probably one of the better ones. As this location was a Sam's Club a long time ago. Anyhow... enough with the history. They got parking space. They got a giant store filled with pretty much everything. Everything is neatly placed and everyone is friendly and helpful. Appreciate these guys working during this tough time. But I'm glad they are around to keep us going. I want to point out, one of their fulfillment associates was very helpful. Her name is Beverly. The store located at 255 Silver Linden Dr, Richmond Hill (HW7/Yonge), has, in my opinion, an extremely poor customer service. For some reason (I assume, due to the high rate of shoplifting), the store's management first removed all those small blue baskets on wheels that are used for shopping inside of Walmarts, then has removed from the store absolutely all the shopping baskets, and recently has also removed all the barcode scanners at the self-checkout points, turning the scanning process of large items into a pain in the neck. I understand that the management of this store might be trying to solve the shoplifting problem this way. However, these methods definitely create a lot of inconvenience for thousands of regular customers. If the problem lies in the high rate of shoplifting, in my opinion, the managers of this store location could have come up with a dozen of other effective ways to counteract theft, instead of causing so much inconvenience and pain to thousands of regular customers every day. Entering this store, I feel extremely uncomfortable from the very beginning. It feels like disrespectful treatment from the moment of entering the store; so, even though I live really close to this store location, I avoid doing my shopping there. I prefer to drive 5km to another Walmart, where I can find small blue baskets on wheels, regular baskets, barcode scanners at the self-checkout points, and, most importantly, respectful customer service. read more

After a quick scroll through the reviews, I can see I'm not the only one who's experienced TERRIBLE customer service at this Walmart. I was lined up at check out the other day and was next in line when one of the store managers hurried over and rudely THREW, and I kid you not because she was at least a meter away, she THREW the "cashier closed" sign right in front of me onto the back of the conveyor belt. She didn't say anything and quickly walked away to the next cashier to do the same. Seeing as no one said anything, I safely assumed that I would be the last customer to get checked out before the cashier closed. There was no one else lining behind me and that made perfect sense. NOPE. When it was my turn, the employee rudely informed me that the lane had closed and I would have to go line up somewhere else. Really? Are you so much in a rush to do something else that you can't cash me out as your last customer? I literally have 3 items and I've been waiting in line this entire time... If this was the case, she should've informed me the moment the manager threw down the sign. What a waste of time. I proceeded to ask the cashier for her name and she refused to tell me. Number one, I thought it was store policy to WEAR YOUR NAME BADGE. This girl had it stuffed away in her pocket. Second, she threatened to call her manager over and insisted that it was her "human right" not to tell me her name. What? You're an employee of Walmart, you're representing your company as a cashier and I'm pretty sure that "right" doesn't exist. Alas, I asked for the manager who then apologized saying that "I wouldn't have thrown it in front of you if I had noticed you standing there". L. O. L. This Walmart is very big compared to other locations. It used to be Sam's club. But because if its size, it can be very hard to find a certain item. Even the employees have trouble finding an item for me. Their selection is somewhat similar to other locations, just everything is more spaced out and there is more stock available. They also offer a pick up service where you can just park outside, call their number, and your order will be brought out to you. They are also testing the "Scan & Go" system at this location. I prefer the regular checkout process, but it could be more efficient for those in a rush. read more

Walmart is the type of store that is difficult to review. The retail concept is superb. The selections and prices are good relative to its competitors. It is popular among consumers, as reflected in the sales volume and customer count. I visit a Walmart more than once a month, and I suspect many do as well. In this regard, Walmart well deserves a 5 stars rating every time. In term of store specific comment, this particular location is well organized and neat most of the times. It is big, so it doesn't feel crowded. It is clean enough. If anything, there are not enough cashiers to assist people who can't use the self checkout machines. There are many checkout counters, but there are few cashiers working there. My mom cannot understand the English instructions on the self checkout machines, so she relies on cashier assistance. She doesn't enjoy shopping at this location. She rather shops at the Markville Mall location, a much smaller store, because there is better cashiers assistance. read more

Placed an order with Walmart.ca at the end of July, 2019 for a crib, crib mattress and crib mattress sheet. The order was confirmed by email and I was looking forward to receiving the items to use in my home for my grandson. Not 10 minutes later an additional email arrived stating that the crib sheet could be picked up but the crib and mattress were not available at this time. A third email arrived stating the crib sheet could be picked up on August 6, 2019 while the crib and mattress could be pick up on August 7, 2019 and if there was any issue with this order, we would be notified by August 2, 2019. Today, August 7, 2019 we went to the store and only the sheet was available. No one in management could locate the crib or mattress and now we are left with no furniture for our grandson to sleep in. We are disappointed, disgusted and disgruntled. Walmart promised us the followed but never fulfilled their promise: 1. A crib, crib mattress and crib sheet. 2. An email no later than August 2, 2019 if the order could not be processed. 3. A crib and mattress to pick up on August 7, 2019. We wasted time, gas and energy on something that they likely will never have in their inventory. We did not receive any email or phone call to let us know that there was no merchandise to be picked up and that in itself is the worst PR in the business. We will NEVER shop at Walmart.ca again and we will be certain to share this negative experience with all our friends and family. read more

I only go to Walmart as it is close by. My rude experiences with multiple employees is what makes me resent this power hungry corporation. Just like Rogers they think that they own the industry. It's ok Rogers learned the hard way. As will Walmart. I complained about a very disrespectful cashier that we encountered. Let's keep the story short and just say you don't demand things from your customer and don't be rude and rush your customers out of the store. I sent a complaint on their website. It stated that I would be contacted within 24 hours or so. It's been like a month and still no response. This walmart has a nice selection. Compared to the states though, it was hardly a superstore. I don't know what it's like during the day, but at night its the best time to shop. Not much people. I usually buy some produce here but remember to check the date. The only thing I dislike is if you really wanted to find something or wanted expertise on something. Had a terrible experience with a return today - I was returning a defective fishing rod (it was used by me yes but I had my receipt and all original packaging was put on). Went to customer service and was told that the item is a final sale item. It was not - the return policy and the receipt did not say anything about fishing rods being a final sale product. Asked for a manager - Maavira came and oh boy the level of rudeness and unprofessionalism from her was above and beyond. She advised me that she cannot accept the return due to fishing rods being final sale. I attempted to explain that their Walmart return policy does not indicate that and my receipt did not say that it was a final sale item. Maavira cut me off and said for me to call the Customer Experience phone number, to go on the Walmart website to review the return policy (which I did), and to go to the original store the item was purchased from (which was local less than 5 km away). She advised that she would take the return if it was from Scarborough or Aurora (further stores away) but because I bought the product at a Walmart close by she told me she won't accept the return and walked away mid-conversation. I'm posting this not just as a review of the poor customer service today but honestly through the years that I have went to this Walmart location I can just sum it up in one word - pathetic. read more

Horrible experience buying on Walmart.ca. Walmart stores are fine, but will NEVER purchase online with them again. I bought a patio set for my parents. It rusted after 3 months during the summer! Called Walmart.ca (which is next to impossible to get someone to answer the phone). They told me I had to work with the manufacturer. After escalating to a supervisor they agreed to contact the manufacturer for me. Here I am... 2 months later, and a number of calls into Walmart.ca. Haven't heard a word from them, even though they said EACH time they would contact me within 48 hours. I'm out $700, with a rusted patio set which lasted one season. And absolutely no support from Walmart, who clearly does not stand by their products. read more

I have mixed reviews about Walmart. It is very difficult to ask anyone anything there if your are searching for small appliances, t.v.S' etc... The grocery section is a little small but does its job if you need some last minute shopping as they are open till 11:00. This is my go to Walmart, last visited on June 5, 2016 to buy some personal care items such as shaving cream, hand soap, as well as some groceries such as avocado and banana. The banana was at 56 cents and was perfect, not too raw not too ripe. The avocado selection was also perfect for ripeness. The cashier was quick and swift. This walmart needs to train the grocery staff to be more courteous to customers and carefully bag the items and place them in the trunk not throw them inside and have the possibility of damaging the items. If you don't like your job, look elsewhere. read more

I'm a fan of this location, for grocery pickup. What I would like to see is a way to stop instore Walmart customers from parking at the Pickup parking. After telling them not to park on those spots, it felt like I was speaking to a wall. I am not a fan of the Walmart SHOPPERS AT THIS LOCATION! You know who you are. Please stop parking at those 5 spots. Move your rear end and walk the extra steps by parking on the other side of the store, like all of us. read more
