I'm a fan of this Walmart Supercenter in Ashland. It's just around the corner from my hotel where I stayed over the weekend. This Supercenter is smaller than I used to in Texas. But it has everything I needed and more. I have been looking for wheel cover all over the place (I'm not from this area). I felt so lucky to pick one from many selections on the shelf. I actually came here during Tropical Depression 16 on Saturday September 23. Right in the middle of my shopping trip, the rain started to pour. Non-stop for over an hour. I was glad there were no roof leaks at the Ashland Walmart Supercenter. I stayed for as long as I could, like shop till you drop. Employees were friendly and I had no issues (Asians are rarely seen in this part of town). If I stay in Ashland next time, I would come back for fruits to eat at hotel. read more

Craziest Walmart I've ever been to after 9pm, the reason is because I didn't see any crazy people or as I like to call them, "Wal- Martians" the whole hour I was there. Like most Walmarts, the employees on the floor aren't very helpful or friendly. They just want to stock the shelves and mind their own business. It wasn't busy, so checkout was fast. That doesn't happen often, and the clerk at checkout was friendly. read more

This is the absolutely WORSE Walmart for home deliveries. I have yet to have a complete order. My order today was missing 13 out of the 20 items. This has happened every time. I have definitely learned my lesson. And don't call the store, they don't believe in answering. read more

This Walmart was crazy! At 630 pm no one at customer service.. it was shut down didn't know how long.. we check out and had alcohol so had to wait for cm..one one girl seemed to be working all the self check outs! Come on Walmart do better!! read more

This is the slowest Walmart I have ever been to! The line for returns was 10 deep and the manager would not get another cashier. It took LITERALLY 20 minutes to process TWO returns and the line kept getting longer. There is no excuse for such poor management. read more

Only one cashier was working. The self help lines were not busy . Employees walked by laughing because everyone was in one line. No one wanted to help even mgrs walked by. They want everyone to use self help lines and I'm nit doing it. They get paid for working I don't paid for bagging my own food. I will stay with Kroger's, really hate this Walmart. Any Walmart you use will have issues. This store in Ashland is much better than most. I can usually find a parking space closer to building whereas Fredricksburg Walmarts are CRAZY. The store usually has what I need. And the people are nice. If you have to wait, its because they have fewer employees, and most are new and or need additional training. Just let a manager know your frustrations. I did and haven't had that same issue again. Handle it professionally, and it will be resolved. read more

Super cheap for Christmas gifts for the most part. Jammies, children and toddler clothes are cheap too. Love it. Good store for beet it qhick things you need. Not my regular store I shop in b/c I work for Kroger and get a discount there and feel like the prices are fair there. Walmart has great deals in candy and Nick nacks. read more

Because of COVID I have been ordering for pick up at WalMart in Ashland (where I live with few grocery choices) on a biweekly basis in between Fresh Market on Parham and Kroger in Short Pump. They have always been my "go to" store for many items as they are less expensive and usually the stock is plentiful. Today was my first "not so great" experience but I wrote a response and within an hour the store manager called me and he credited my account. NOW THAT'S CUSTOMER Service. The gentlemen who deliver to your car got the orders confused but all was sorted out in the end. They were funny accommodating and way too apologetic as everyone makes mistakes. For those who say they "hate" Walmart you should really give their pick up service a try. Easy on line ordering, easy pick up and excellent customer service. read more

Came here twice yesterday, one time trucks had the whole lot blocked fine, so I came back after a break. I didn't feel welcome here at all. When I went to pay for my 7 or 8 items at self check-out the cashier on at the time came from around her booth to physically look me up & down in a weird manner and says so how we doing then proceeds to stand there & watch me scan everything. I don't like being watched and I don't appreciate being treated as though I'm some kind of thief. I don't steal I have money credit cards etc to pay for all my purchases. Keep up the funny treatment Walmart & you can most certainly lose my family as customers. What a waste! read more

I went on a Saturday to get a certified check for an apartment rental- A two thousand dollar charge occurred as their computer system failed. The woman helping me voided one entry and got half of the amount out in cash. They told me the voided entry of a thousand dollars would be put back into my account...a week went by and no money had been deposited. I went back in, waited for two hours for the manager,Eric, to come out only to tell me that I needed to dispute the charge with my bank. My bank is now investigating the charge but we will have to wait a couple more weeks to receive the money. This is the worst Walmart I've ever been to- only one person remembered us and our issue and genuinely wanted to help, the rest could care less. The manager was not friendly and didn't seem concerned about Walmart stealing my money. read more

The WalMart store in Ashland Virginia does not enforce the mask requirement. After several visits and several reports to management they continue to allow numerous shoppers to be in the store without masks. They do not care about customer safety. I would not shop there read more

Very unhappy customer. I ordered my Christmas tree for pick up online on Monday (Powhatan, VA) and got an email Monday night that it was ready for pick up. I came on Wednesday and the tree is no where to be found. Of course. They looked for 20 minutes and then decided to offer me the display tree. The only discount provided was $10.00. Their customer service is the worst! I have shopped at this Walmart for years and have seen this over and over until today I decided I'd had enough. I bought a product that was not given to me yesterday. I made a special trip this am to explain to the manager it was not put in my bag. I am not a liar or thief but was told that security footage would have to be reviewed and then I would get a call. So you don't believe me after I have spent a small fortune in your store because this is what you are truly saying. It isn't like I habitually come to the store and say you forget to bag something for me so I can get it for free. It isn't worth my time and gas money to come back for this product or frankly any other items. read more

I just saw a very disturbing video on "Facebook" of a employee at Walmart making young black college men re-scan everything they bought because he ASSUMED they had not paid for the items they had in their bags. Even though the young men told him they had and even showed the employee their receipts he still did not believe them. At the end of the second transaction it was proven that the young men had paid for everything in their bags. That employee should not be allowed to work at Walmart anymore! I commend the young men for being respectful even though they were the ones being treated unfairly. As a mother of an African-American young man this breaks my heart because I have to let my son out into a society that will judge him based on the color of his skin not the content of his character. I also took it upon myself to call Walmart and let them know that I had seen the video. How upsetting it was to watch something like that happen. The employee on the phone did not seem overly concerned and just stated that "they were aware of the incident and that they were handling it". I informed the woman on the phone that I hoped so and if not we would be picketing their store. She nonchalantly dismissed my concern. Walmart in ASHLAND will not get my business and I realize one customer will not hurt them but as a mother of son who is about to go to college I know I have done my part for those young men. read more

I am kind of disappointed in the Ashland Walmart because of certain things. They seem to have a nice stock of everything, but their customer service was not the best. My fiance was trying to simply just trade a game in and it took almost an hour for them to do this. They told him that they would be awhile with the first customer, but customer service up front could help him. Once he walked the whole way up to customer service and waited in line for fifteen minutes, she had no idea what he was talking about. He then walked back to the game center and finally got help after waiting another fifteen minutes. Once they started trading the game in, that took about another fifteen to twenty minutes. The people were on the nicer side, but man do they take forever. I also went back the day after to trade another game and the lady told me to hold on because she wanted to show her MANAGER how to do a video game trade in. Shouldn't the manager know how to do that already? The manager was helping someone else and I had to stand around and wait fifteen minutes for them. Once they finally came to help me, she proceeded to take forever and X out of the trade in twice. I even heard her say to her manager that everything Walmart does is slow. read more
