    Walmart Supercenter, Big Spring

I was going to spend the night in my Sprinter van here in the Walmart parking lot as they do seem to allow overnight parking (wink wink) but it's too dang hot today. I booked a hotel instead. But before the hotel, I stopped in here to refresh some supplies. The store is decent enough and I found what I needed in the RV and automotive sections plus some basic groceries. As is usual, they did not have enough registers open today so I did the self-checkout and that worked out okay. [Review 17420 overall - 433 in Texas - 938 of 2022.]

Horrible horrible horrible, I live out of town so I like to put in a curbside pickup so I can go nd jus pickup. I usually use HEB but I tried Walmart today nd NEVER AGAIN, I order a trimmed brisket nd got one that looked like the cow ate nothing but junk food (all fat), I asked for no substitutions nd got half my items substituted... NEVER AGAIN...

It is helpful to have a full service Walmart in the neighborhood. Go there for grocery shopping all the time.

If you want to shop in San Angelo in the summer without melting away, this is the place to come. I was sad to see how fewer choices there were, though. JC Penney, Dillards and Marshalls are the big anchor stores. There definitely needs to be more food choices (oh, how I missed Karmelkorn from the late 80s!) and some more variety in shopping, but it's a much more comfy way to spend a few hours than driving around, parking, shopping, driving around, parking..... What's disturbing is that so much space has been given over to services like cell phones and military recruiting. Those will not attract high foot traffic, families, teens or even the college crowd. Please, management, add more retail, especially women's clothing. There's an Ulta, but a Sephora would be nice. Upgrade, please! What about adding an ice rink or roller rink?

The food court can be disappointed since they're only about 2 or 3 would seem like places that are open now but there are some places to eat near this mall. Place seems pretty clean, I'll come back and update this review after a second or third trip here.

I used to work for this store so alot is from up close personal experiences. Many many issues…read morewithin the store has personal hurt me and makes me shop there less. First the store is in a convient spot yes, it's close by residents of this town enough you can walk to get things you really need, but that is if they have them. Often times I go in and see so many things not out, not in stock or plainly left on the sky shelf out of reach. The store has days where it's really clean and days where it's really not, and sometimes the line for the register can take a long time. Seeing that the store has two registers and a third spot for one you'd think there would be more help but then you'd be wrong considering their are almost too few employees to work during the shifts. The store as far as working was a nightmare for not just me, but 4 others I worked with who all quit or left to another store around the same time as me due to the main manager who runs it. The manager (Hilary) runs the place out of a biased relationship with one employee who was hired and is a close family friend. As soon as she came on board as boss, this family friend was hired and took most of everyones hours. There were 7 employees in total and it was a strange coincidence that we were loosing so many hours out of no where. I went from having 15 hours to Only 4 a week. Which was 30$ a paycheck. I worked hard and other employees voiced their opinions about how "it made no sense she is getting so few hours". Falling on deaf ears she proceeded to (pardon my language) screw the others out of hours as well. I lived with family but these workers, my friends as they became had bills to pay and food to buy. They quit and had to fall on second jobs due to the inconvenience of this store owner and clearly biased treatment which was incredibly unprofessional. Since leaving I've heard of her letting some employees steal sodas which is a crime. The store is not to blame but the district managers are for letting such incompetents take place. They need to hire better management and take the employees seriously and not treat them as used tissues.
