She has been a customer of his for years, and his antics yesterday sicken me. My mother tried on a shoe which was size 10B. She asked if there was a wider size, and he said "yes, we have a D width". So he comes back with a different size and places it on her foot. She says, "it doesn't look any wider." He says nothing. With her cane, she stands up and walks around, and ends up buying the $152 pair of New Balance shoes, which he claims he discounted to $139. When we got home to put the shoes on, she discovers that the shoes are actually a size 11B. See the photo where he rewrote the size on the box. An extra 1/2 inch on the front of a shoe causes everyone to trip...and would be a bone-breaker for her. Regarding the price, he wanted to look like a hero with his "discount" from $152 to $139. But this exact shoe is available everywhere else for $139. Trying to support the local businesses during COVID, but he just ruined it.

I run these guns pretty hard, because I shoot 7 days/week, except for the rare occasion when I cannot make it to the range. Over the 6 years that I've owned a Volquartsen, there have been maybe 3 occasions where I needed to send them a pistol for repair. Considering how many rounds these pistols have sent down range, I have no problem with having to do this once in a while. Each time I needed them to diagnose and repair one of their pistols, they handled it quickly, and went way above and beyond with their service.

There's gas and a mainstay area that has candies, chips, sodas, etc. There is also an area in the back for seating where my father in law goes early in the mornings to drink coffee. - Good for snack junk food, fried cheese balls, Godfather's personal pizzas, warm sandwiches, and burritos. - They also have a fried chicken area where you can pick out a few pieces to make a dinner (it's in the same place as the rest of the warmed-up/fried food) - Coffee is horrendous, even for gas station coffee. Plus there is no liquid creamer option - only the powdered stuff. I have to say, I was appalled at this even knowing I was in small-town, middle-of-nowhere Iowa. I mean... these people drink a lot of coffee out here and there's no liquid creamer? Odd. Overall Sparky's is a mainstay to the people of Lake View. Obviously a lot of people rely on this place for gas and even for eating every so often.
