Not a bunch of screaming kids like the other big store across the street. I was surprised last time when I supplied my own bags at checkout the checker scanned all of my items but I had to bag my own things. I'm not sure if that is the norm or if just the way she did things but that's something to be aware of because not everyone wants to bag their own items or can bag their own items. I will say that since their last major remodel I don't think they carry as many items or they may carry more brands but less of each item within that brand. The first time I noticed this was in the hair color aisle, they had several brands but the one I was looking at was missing the entire blonde selections. That was something they carried before the remodel. I will take that with a grain of salt though because there are supply issues still happening but I would think that they would have something after all this time. I highly suggest that everyone download the Target app because if you do want to take the time to add offers you can save quite a bit of money. I wish they would work like some supermarket royalty cards where each week the discounts were just loaded in automatically and if you bought that product you would get the cash back Instead of having to choose the offer and add it to your barcode before you buy. Sometimes scanning the barcodes of every item before you put them in the cart is just taking too much time and if you haven't planned ahead you may not have all of the discounts available loaded onto your app already but again if you can take a few minutes to load the offers in before or during your shopping it really adds up. Curbside pick up is also a plus and it seems to be very popular. Sometimes I think the people out there working are working harder than most of the inside employees. Maybe it just seems that way because I feel sorry for them being out there in this heat but they have always been very pleasant and efficient to work with and I do appreciate that they have this service available. I did rate four stars because of the availability of some of the things in the store not being what they should be and I have had a couple of times where produce such as the bagged salads weren't the freshest, but this will continue to be my favorite store of this type.

This Nordstrom Rack has plenty of inventory it just happens to be average, overpriced items that can be found at the TJ Maxx right next door or somewhere between Marshalls and Kohls. Today was probably one of the few times that I actually was looking for a pair of shoes and they happen to be some hocus I don't believe Nordstrom Rack does price matching when they add their stickers to their products but a lot of their products are overpriced whether something is on sale or not is debatable. Today I was looking for On clouds or Hokas for my upcoming trip. The Nordstrom Rack usually has comparable prices to online at the on store or even the Hoka store but after researching several items including the one in the pictures below there's no reason to shop at Nordstrom Rack anymore, instead shop online and save 10 to 20%. I really do understand sales price meaning Hoka can run better sales in most cases as the manufacturer but most items are overpriced in Nordstrom Rack. Ralph Lauren polo shirts two to three years old are still running $70 even more expensive than the outlet price, basically Nordstrom Rack is overpriced in my opinion and this one in Bakersfield has given me reason to continue to go.

My biggest find was the light pink BOGG brand bag for $39.99. It came with an internal pouch. These bags are great for lunch & work because they are easy to clean & they stand upright and hold their shape. Watch out for a couple of homeless dudes hanging around offering to washer windshield. Unfortunately, this apparently triggered a situation requiring advanced training, several recounts, and what sounded like a direct appeal to the heavens. At one point, the cashier repeatedly called out, "Jesus Christ," which seemed appropriate considering the apparent magnitude of the financial crisis unfolding over a handful of coins. I haven't seen someone struggle this intensely with change since the invention of the cash register. The coins were eventually counted, civilization survived, and the transaction was completed. Management may want to consider offering additional training in Coin Counting 101: The Art of Adding Numbers Together Without Summoning Divine Intervention. No matter what time I visit, the line always seems to move at one speed - slow. It often feels like the wait outweighs whatever bargain you're there to buy. The merchandising is another challenge. I understand the treasure-hunt shopping experience is part of TJ Maxx's appeal, but that doesn't mean everything has to feel crammed together. The clothing racks are overcrowded, making it difficult to browse comfortably or even see what's available. There are good finds if you're willing to spend the time searching. But between the cluttered merchandise and consistently slow checkout, the overall shopping experience could be much better.
