Laziness...pure laziness. People go to Walmart to purchase everything. Whether it be the week of groceries or paint for a bathroom remodel or even a new bicycle. But some people want to get in and get out with ONE item. So they rely on self checkout. Say what you want about self checkout, but it is fast and easy. Normally you are not waiting in line. However, the self checkout at this location is "closed" at 1338. Closed except for the Walmart employee making a purchase and the Walmart employee standing on an ergo mat on her phone. Why? Walmart used to be convenient. I want to work for Walmart because of the perks. First, you have your own private checkout with zero waiting. Second, you get to stand on an ergo mat on your phone and not have to deal with any customers. I see a training opportunity for both the employees AND management. I thought this Walmart was one of the "nicer" ones because of their recent updates to the store layout. I was wrong. Strike 1: The produce section was lacking a lot of things. I saw many empty bins, and had to compromise a few of my choices based on the lack of availability (for example, I wanted Roma tomatoes but there was only on-the-vine). Now, I can't fully blame Walmart for this because of the current economy, but given that Walmart is such a large corporation I feel like they should still be able to do better at this time. Strike 2 and 3: This is the major one. I went to use the fitting room to try on a pair of jeans, when I was absolutely smacked in the face by the smell of poop. Confused, I looked around... and there it was. Literal human (or maybe dog) feces. Who does this???? And then doesn't even try to clean it up????? The worst part was that I couldn't even find any staff in the vicinity to report this to. This Walmart is a no for me after this experience. I'll never forget this, in the worst way. read more

I have not shopped at a Walmart in years due to an awful experience at another location. I finally caved and decided to attempt a pickup order at a different location. Needless to say, I've learned my lesson. I ordered seven items for pickup. They were brought to my car quickly and loaded into my backseat. I began to drive away and stopped in the parking lot to check my backseat. Lo and behold, I was missing three of the seven items. I first attempted to use the app to report that my items were missing, but my only option was to "return" the items to the store to get a refund. Since I did not have an item to bring back, that option would not work for me. I drove back to the pickup spaces and had to get out of my car to go wait outside the loading doors. I got someone's attention and showed her what I was missing. She took a photo and went back in to look. About 15 minutes later she arrived with one item completely different from what I had ordered and was still missing the others. I pointed this out and she told me, "this is all we have, so it's all I can offer you." It wasn't what I ordered, I don't understand how that was supposed to help me. It took me 45 minutes of wrestling with an AI phone agent and then a human phone agent to finally get a refund. He could not understand why I was upset and ended up hanging up on me at the end of the call. Learned my lesson the hard way, I won't be shopping at Walmart ever again. My go to store pre-cruise when I stay in this area. I do t like to check bags so buy toiletries in town before I get on a cruise ship. This Walmart is well stocked and has an okay gluten free section. But the location is sketchy. So much so that several rideshare drivers advised me to be safe after dropping me off. And they have two staffed cop cars parked outside at the entrance/exit on a Saturday night. read more

Employees are mostly nice but it seems like poor management. They were doing good for awhile with checkouts but that was abandoned as there is never an employee to direct to the proper line. They are ALWAYS out of many different items I go in for. Also certain employees walk around seemingly taking inventory as they scan items then put them back on the shelf, and they are constantly in the way. Again poor management as that should be done after hours. They also move items in stock to the space where items are out of stock so nothing needed gets reordered. These are just things I notice since I'm there at least once a week. They can't be beat in price unless it's a BOGO item at Publix. read more

This store has so many real live people checkouts. It's very fast. TAMISHA checked me out tonight and i am so happy it was her because i had a horrible time trying to pay. After she rang everything up i tried to pay with iphone wallet. Guess what YOU CANT. Then i tried Walmart pay. I couldn't. She suspended my receipt. I went off to the side to try. The pharmacy had a line of five people but went quickly and the staff were very nice. Handled the prescription and transaction with ease. Will return to this Walmart. read more

Ordered a refrigerator online. They dropped it in my driveway with out me inspecting it then left. I unbox it, damaged at the bottom and would not sit level so I looked underneath and someone tried to patch it with foam sealer. We called for it to be picked up as I wanted a full refund. They took our information and said we would get a call in 24 hours for pickup. After 48 hours, my wife called to follow up and they said they had no ticket pending. Soooo. Now to square one. I went to this Walmart to return and item that I had bought at a different store, since I was in the downtown area. The parking lot seems very dirty with paper, plastic and stuff all over. I walked in ... and it was like pandemonium, there were tons of people trying to check out, a bunch of people on this side of the registers, like waiting for their family or friends to pay, it was just very busy and very congested. I went to the Returns section and I was third in line. When the guy in front of me got the counter, he spent a long time talking to the lady behind the counter about their family, social stuff, etc....it's like....this is a store, not the social gathering for friends and family. It literally took like 15 min for this guy to finish talking about his social updates and do his return. When I got to the counter, I did my thing and I was out of there after having spent like 3 min at the counter....but almost 30 min total since I had arrived at the store....what a pain....!!!!! read more

I buy my groceries here all the time and as a college student this place is ideal. There are all the essentials as well as many specific products I need to cook in my dorm. The only issue with shopping here is that on some days there is minimal stock and I have been forced to come back since my trip was incomplete. I frequently buy the fresh fruits and vegetables as well as many of the frozen items and snacks and think the price is very reasonable here compared to many of the other grocery stores. read more

Soooo.......this is why people shop online. An associate argued with me over a caged product I pointed to, a replacement of a device I had purchased before. Another shopper stepped in front of me while the associate continued to debate with me while smoothly ringing this other person up (I think they must have known each other). Then I was overcharged, luckily a manager was close and did a price check and the online price was $6 cheaper. Plus, when I got home and the item was clearly used. Half the beauty area was shut down with at least 10-12 laughing and talking associates who didn't seem to be in a hurry. It is newer but you would not be able to tell. Items are often out of stock and lines are extremely long. This was my first time at this location. I had to take my brother grocery shopping and this was the closest location to where he resides. We arrived around 3pm and it was really busy outside with traffic, along with inside the store. We enter and like most Walmart's, it was chaotic. My brother had prepared a list and knew what he wanted but I did not go in for anything specific. The produce and deli section looked like everything was fresh. Both departments were stocked enough. I continued strolling through aisles and picked up items I could use. I found my brother and he was done shopping so we made our way towards the registers. We had more than 15 items so we did not choose the self check out line. There were several registers open but at least 5 people waiting on each line. We chose a line and waited and waited and waited. It was finally our turn. It was complicated I guess to the cashier when I explained some items needs to be separated since we were not going to the same home. She took a while to ring everything up and was a little slow in my opinion. She was very friendly though. We paid and left. The store looked disheveled and unorganized, like most of the customers in there. If it was this busy during working hours, I do not want to visit after work hours! read more

Some may say a Walmart is a Walmart is a Walmart. Yes, they are the same but only somewhat and I find this one to be far better than the rest. First off, it's brand new so everything about it is rather clean as well as up to date. Second would be the parking. Parking at this Walmart is not the horror event that parking at most other Walmart's can be. Maybe because it is new to the area and folks haven't caught on yet, but there always seem to be adequate parking spaces. Then there are the selections. Here, the selections are just about everything and then some. They have a great wine area where I found my favorite Chianti, DaVinci, for under $10.00. Everywhere else that I know of that carries has it priced above $10.00, even ranging up as high as $14.99. Then there is the food section and what a wonderful food section it is. It has a lot to offer that you can't even find in a Publix. For example, though I'm not a Paleo, on a Paleo diet and since having moved out of the hills of Appalachia, no longer a hunter/gatherer, I do have a preference for meats that are lean, contain less fats and with only natural to the body hormones. This leads me to the meats of game rather than domestic animals. Here, is where this Walmart really shines as when it comes to offerings of Buffalo, they seem to be the best. There just isn't any store around offering the variety of Buffalo meats as does this Walmart Supercenter, and certainly not their low, low prices. So, though I don't enjoy the experience of shopping a Walmart, I have to give this one a full Four Stars. read more

A typical vacation stop for me.... Walmart! I enjoyed this location. It was clean and well stocked. Everything that we were looking for we were able to locate with no hassle. One of our reasons to stop was to stock up on liquor for the hotel room. This location had its own liquor store which I've never seen at any other Walmart. The cashier was very friendly and helpful. Wish I remembered her name. She could tell we were from out of town and suggested us to a local karaoke bar. (See separate review for this gem). She even told us if we go out first drinks were on her to welcome us to Ft Lauderdale! read more

This Walmart is the best one I have visited in a while. And believe you me, I have visited many. One of my obsessions as of late is sewing, and some Walmarts sell fairly inexpensive fabric. You ca get some decent quality fabric from $1- $2.50 per yard. Of course there is more expensive options, but this is the price range I look at. It is great to make practice outfits. On this particular day I visited four different ones. Here are the highlights of this one. It is located on Broward blvd, very close to I-95. It has a bog parking lot which is not crazy. Everything in the store looks neat, service clerks were pleasant and helpful. There is a Wawa sharing the strip mall as well as restaurants like Chipotle, and others. If this store wasn't so far from me. I would come here more often. read more
