I love that this supercenter has a bakery, deli, seafood, poultry, dairy, alcohol, etc. Given that everything is so expensive now, I could see myself buying groceries here if I lived in Garden City. We went there to buy a paddle board. We had seen them when we went to Gregg's. Once there, we asked the lady who was sitting outside if she could help us. NO!! But she would call someone who could. They never showed up. We left!! read more

The pharmacists and the pharmacy techs/other pharmacy staff are all great. I rarely have to wait more than 2 minutes. At the registers, everyone has been great as well. Clean store and well stocked! read more

Isle are way to close together,you get stuck in the middle of the isle because shopperrs at either end. As a resident I have made the decision to go to Foodlion or another grocery store or Target. read more

I just came from spending a half hour waiting in the electronics department for an employee to help me. I was the only customer and despite me asking her for help multiple times , she continued to ignore me to scan inventory. I asked her about how much longer she would be till she could help me and she replied 5 minutes if I could let her finish. 20 minutes later I walk out the door. Rudest customer service ever. Great store but the best part is the personnel . Mentioned a soft drink that was new and an associate Traci, went and bought with her own money and gave to me with receipt, while checking out in the self checkout . Employees should not express political views in stores, especially with anger and a loud voice. Two days ago while on a self checkout line an older employee (very short grey hair, heavy set, with cane) overseeing the checkout area loudly and angrily verbalized her political views. Customers needing help were over-shouted by her hateful statements against refugees, confederate statue removal, and more, for five minutes. I'm going back only long enough to read her name tag and then writing a letter to the Walmart corporate offices. read more

When I've shopped at Walmart in the past, I generally went to the Surfside location. But after waiting on long lines, especially at the Pharmacy, I go elsewhere for my medications and I've moved to the Garden City Beach location for my other Walmart needs. The layout is a bit different than any other Walmart I've been to, not that it's bad, it is just different. Friendly staff is there to assist me when I've needed. The cashiers are polite and just as sweet as they can be. Customer service has been friendly and polite and makes a return or exchange as painless as possible. Walmart is not a high end store, like Barney's, Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdales, however it is a great store with low priced items. This store is perfect for the beach life. read more

Brand new Walmart :) Nothing really special or out of the ordinary here. They have a subway inside and the 10 times I have been there they always had open lanes to check out fast. Food center, photo center, garden center, and good chicken :) read more

Just went to the Walmart super center at Surfside Beach S.C. during SENIOR hour. Signs state masks required. A younger gentleman in front of me, NOT WEARING A MASK entered the store. There was an employee right in the entry way. He did not say anything to the person nor did any other employee inside the store. I got up at 5:15 to try to shop safely. To say I am upset would be an understatement. SENIOR HOUR IS SUPPOSED TO BE FOR SENIORS AND OLDER PEOPLE WITH COMPROMISED IMMUNE .SYSTEMS. TO LET A YOUNGER PERSON IN WAS OK. BUT WITH "NO" mask is unacceptable. I will find another supermarket. And it won't be Walmart! This is the 3rd time this has happened. Bye bye Walmart! read more

We were on vacation for Christmas and couldn't find a tree Christmas Eve. Greg the manager brought us out a tree after we checked out. He refused to let us pay and said that it was taken care of. He rescued our Christmas for the little ones. And the true spirit of Christmas he was a little Christmas miracle. read more

So I'm gonna start this off by saying I was in a pinch. I really had to go, and honestly when I think Walmart bathroom I don't think anything good. The bathroom in the back by electronics was your average public restroom. Some urine drops around the floor, but I tell you, go to the one in the front. The front bathroom is super cleanly and smells decent. I am writing this review from the comfort of Walmart's porcelain throne. If I'm ever in a pinch again I know where I can rest my cheeks. read more

On vacation and had a contact lense rip. I was able to get a trial pair very easily. The vision center lady could not have been nicer. Also, my family comes here for groceries, and the shelves are never empty. The store is crazy busy, but if you know this and have a good attitude you will have a great experience. read more

Don't try and beat the crowd by shopping here later at night (930p for me). The service is terrible. The only people on the floor are stocking and are not there to help you. The one manager up front is far too busy to be bothered with you. I waited for 25 minutes for someone to help me in the jewelry section and after being told twice that someone would be right over I ditched my full cart and left. I don't expect world class service from Walmart but I do expect that when I walk the entire store to find somebody to help me and they tell me they will be right over that I shouldn't have to wait 25 minutes. This is the worst Walmart on the planet. On Sunday 4/13 at about 10 am, there were at least 40 customers in line and about 4 registers open. After a conference, the manager and assistant manager decided to open a few more registers. However, the assistant manager did not allow just anyone to use the newly opened registers. He selectively pulled people out of lines, leaving many who had been waiting far longer. After he selected 17 (!) customers for service, many of whom had not been waiting as long as I had, I realized his criteria. He was choosing the most expensively dressed customers to ensure they were waited on first, and leaving all the (local and tourist) beach bums! I left my cart and went to Bi-Lo, which had plenty of lanes open. Conclusion: go up the street to Bi-Lo or Piggly Wiggly for groceries, and to the Walmart in Surfside for everything else. At all of those stores, they treat everyone well, no matter how you're dressed! read more

I have a full cart of merchandise , but I am NOT walking all the way back to the dept to see if anyone shows up. I left my cart and went to Target. read more
