When we walked inside, we noticed a lot of elderly men hanging around at the tables near the front and they were staring at us. Even the men exiting the store were staring! The only lady we noticed in the store besides myself was the young cashier. We grabbed a quick meal and checked out. Worth mentioning, this location does take Apple Pay! I took note that this location of Brookshire Brothers reminded me of Piggly Wiggly. However, it caught me off guard given there were also more men hanging out in the parking lot, talking at the corner. It was different! I didn't feel unsafe, but I didn't want to linger longer than needed as I wasn't sure what was going on.

The fruit right as you walk in is amazingly inexpensive. If you're a Kroger person, you'll be impressed. I must say, their produce was their biggest draw. Everything was fresh and looked very good! Their red meat selection wasn't bad. There's plenty to chose from. But just FYI , if you're a picky steak eater like I am, they don't carry fillet mignon. Their alcohol selection is above average for a grocery store. They sell these cute mini, single - glass bottles of wine in a pack of four. They total up to a full bottle and are perfect for the light weight or someone going on a picnic. Lastly, there's is no self checkout. You've got to go through the line and they could use a few more. But the fresh produce is worth the wait!
