We got chicken salad which was very good. We enjoyed the beef pot pie. Since it was my birthday month I got a free slice of cake. You can sign up online and request either vanilla or chocolate cake. The frosting was very creamy. We also selected a few other sweet treats such as a strawberry shortcake, huckleberry cheesecake and a petit chocolate bomb. All were delicious. I like Kroger's a lot. Well, not in this area at least. They also have a decent ethnic aisle (ok, not a whole aisle but it'll do). It's annoying to see people park directly in front of the store. If you don't want to park in a regular parking lot, there's that whole 15 minute area along the curb. But it's not Kroger's fault for inconsiderate people. I was stoked when they opened their gas station. I would probably say it's the most convenient gas station this side of town, easy to get in and out of and close to the interstate. The guy that works late there is interesting though. I used to think he was nice, now I don't know if he's just socially awkward or just flat out rude on purpose. I will give him the benefit of the doubt by just assuming he's going through some stuff. Regardless, I no longer go up to the window if he's working there. It's always crowded and packed here, especially with everyone "working from home." Seems to me a passel of 'em are working from the Aldi aisles and parking lot because they're always here! It's a great location, adjacent to the best barbershop in town (L&M). Without giving up ALL of my secrets, I'll just say that there are less crowded Aldi stores, but they don't have the self checkout option, which is fine because watching Aldi checkout magicians at an Aldi store is something to behold. They also do a good job of keeping up with having carts inside so you rarely have to get a cart from the parking lot. Selection is above average and they have a lot of local produce. Sales are typically on products you'll use. Their Food Club brand is decent. The cashier also unloads your cart when you check out which is a really nice touch. This location has a nice deli which is underrated or maybe unknown. Their burgers are surprisingly good and more than reasonable size for the price. You can get a burger, fries, and a drink for under $10 as of this review. Sometimes the wait is a little long but that is generally due to them making your fries fresh. They also offer other sandwiches and have a good selection for dinner as well.
