This is my 3rd review on Walmart over the last few years. Each time I promise I won't return. Well, I did it again and yes I regret it. I visited the Walmart Supercenter on 40hwy in Kansas City and entered through the automotive service area to pick up oil and antifreeze. So far so good. I went to the sporting goods dept. 2 isles away and found a big hot/cold thermos with no price and it was the only one I could find, probably the last one. So I put it back on the shelf, no purchase. No one in sporting goods to help, register closed. Then I remembered I needed mens t-shirts and underwear. That dept was half way across the store so I made my way to the men's dept. and found the mens underwear all in a glass covered locked cabinet. So I pondered do i want to go looking for help or just visit AMAZON.COM ? While I was pondering another customer came along and found the "clerk button" and pressed it for entry into the prized "priceless mens underwear" safe. So I figured I'd wait to see how long that took. Surprisingly a clerk was there in about a minute only to tell the lady she didn't have a key for the "underwear safe" and she left to go get help or a key. I left right behind her. Needless to say I pondered no more knowing I could have mens underwear delivered to my doorstep efficiently, effortlessly and at the same price as the "Hassle Farm known as WallyFart. So once again they have failed and made it a real hassle to shop there. 3x Strikes your out. AMAZON.COM is my goto easy, effortless and fun place to shop for "anything" I need. read more

Delivery from this store (40 Hwy & Sterling) is terrible! If you get your groceries at all, they either reek of cigarette smoke or weed. A lot of delivery drivers don't seem to speak English either. But more often than not, the driver will mark the items delivered, but do not deliver at all, or they only deliver part of the order. Its a recurring problem from this store. They use a 3rd party delivery service and apparently have very low standards for the drivers. Worst of all, the more times they mess up your order, the harder it is to get a refund from Walmart. As if somehow, the thieves and idiots they hire are the customer's fault, rather than Walmart's. Beware. read more

I now can purchase my Gluten free bread and cake mixes and flour also you carry monk fruit a good substitute for sugar the only thing I couldn't find was apple low glycemic sugar I had to drive to Whole Foods Foods or Sprouts, the price is right. Absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND the Walmart+ membership. They'll keep taking money out of your account that is not tied in with anything. And when you call to dispute, "they show no record" of the specific AMOUNTS I inquired about. $100 here, a few dollars here and there, WTF???? I figure I'll wait til they take a little more out that is UNAUTHORIZED and once it hits $251 I'll take legal action and make sure my bank reverses those charges. This is hands down the worst Walmart. No one answers the phone, (especially in automotive), without phones no one knows where anything is. Always poorly stocked, or out, the garden and sports departments have no workers available, cashiers move like zombies, and I've had to return spoiled Talipia. Self-checkout sucks. There was no one in the area except one employee who was very busy playing/texting on her phone. She looked at me and muttered 'there's a limit of 25 items, ' and went back to her game. I proceeded to check out, thinking I was within the 25 limit. Unfortunately, I had 26 items and the machine locked up, and said 'ask for assistance.' I did, and she looked up from her phone and said 'you had over 25 items' and back to the phone. I asked if she could override it or fix it and she said no, not even looking up this time. I realize it's hard to get good help these days, but even bad help would have been an improvement. read more

Okay self checkout.... It's a 25 or less rule, because I had 26 items they wanted me to go to a regular check out which would've been OK if they didn't have only three open where the lines are 12 to 14 people deep and each of those people have 2 to 3 grocery carts. Also I'm young I know how to work the registers fast, the lady kept saying no, went to the other self checkout they lady said it was fine because she also had common sense seeing a crying 1 year old.... Checked out walked past the other registers where the old people who were next in line were still trying to figure out the self checkout!!!! Like these employees stand around and don't help! We took my son's car to get a tire in Automotive. This was around 10:30 in the morning. When we arrived, there was a line of around 5 people 7 being my son and myself. The man at the counter was on the phone. Out comes a young lady from the back where the techs are, chopping on gum and ear phones in her ears conducting her supposed to be customer service. Her whole demeanor was very unprofessional. This was in front of a supervisor. No "Hello" or anything. Here we are its not 5:16 pm, I decided to call. When I called, I was forwarded over to the automotive department the phone rang so long that I was rerouted to customer service. The lady at customer service then gave me the direct extension. Again it was rerouted back. Now I have been on the phone for over an hour and they have yet to pick up the phone to give me a progress. If it wasn't for this being the closest Walmart, I would have went to another one. Who waits all day just to talk to someone. I realize its the day after Thanksgiving, but someone should be hired to answer the phones. read more

First thing: It's gone down hill and it's a slippery slope, since I first wrote my review in 2010. I've grown to dislike Walmart. For instance the other day I stopped in, which I rarely visit. I knew they'd have what I was looking for there and didn't want to chase shop for one item. I found the product which was actually on Amazon for cheaper, and I chose to go to Walmart. I glanced at their Royals shirts, deciding on a few and decided to climb through that which they consider to be fitting rooms. Only there's a pile of clothes that aren't removed by the fitting room clerk with 9 inch fingernails, I tried on atleast 6 Royals shirts triple checking their size. They were all ridiculously undersized. In fact, I looked around their clothes which I think are disgusting, undersized and cheaply made. I wonder really if the shirts are the real thing, but since they are near the stadium, I would hope. But there's no way these were the same quality as Rally Sports or the near by pro shop at the Stadium. So, one item, and the lines are as long as Ikea's.2 cashiers. long lines. Then I decide to check out the groceries as I needed a few things. The grocery area is okay. Just okay and sometimes I can find things not normally found...but is it worth the line? I'm not so sure. I really don't like Walmart. The location is handy but I don't like it. read more

This review is for the Blue Ridge Location Walmart. Overall, Walmart is 3.5 stars because I frequent it often, but this Walmart is getting 2 stars only because three times I went there with my list of things to buy, they either were out or never stocked the items. So I would still have to go to another Walmart to buy what I needed. Which is how I found out that every Walmart stocks different things I assuming depending on location or demand, I'm not too sure. I'm kind of glad this is not my regular store otherwise i'd be a little more upset having to drive out of my way. But reading the other review, I guess if the only option was here or driving out to Lee's summit for Target I would have to compromise and decide if what I needed was necessary or if I can find something else to fill the shopping list need. read more

I tend to avoid this store because every time I go, something goes wrong. This time was no different. First, the customer service is awful and they are woefully understaffed, especially at check out. This is why I tend to choose self check. One time I did this, the person watching the line told me I couldn't check there because I had more than 25 items. I mentioned that I'd done self-check with more than 25 items before. He literally ignored my comment and told me to go to another line to check out. This time, I had more than 25 items for self-check, almost everyone else did too, including the woman who cut the line with a shopping cart filled to the brim. I told the worker whose job it was to monitor the line and she did NOTHING! I asked her why not, and she said she would have to check the security camera and those are broken. If you can shop anywhere else, go somewhere else. read more

Came in for a tire rotation checked in at 4:45pm 9pm and they are still not done. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I have watched 1 of their techs go on 2 breaks and another just walking around in the back eating donuts. Worst place to take your vehicle!!!!! read more

This Walmart used to open 24/7 now they closed at 12:00AM. I tried my best to avoid this place... I would rather go the extra miles to the one in Independence. Under an emergency this place was the closet and needed to items by planning to come in and then out a real quick. I was wrong. It was only 11PM and they were already ran out of items and restocking items that was already full. Staff were too busy trying to get things done and wouldn't look my way to asked if I needed help finding anything. Check out was even worse. They has only 2 lines open and self checkout wasn't helpful. Took me like 10 mins to find what I was looking for and then another 30 minutes to wait to get checkout. It was so long and I was already ready for a nap. This place is not as clean and always running out of stuff. Not the best Walmart. read more

The staff are quite friendly. The greeter was more enthusiastic than anyone who has greeted me at any Walmart in the past. Customer service was on point on all levels, but as it stands, I've been in this Walmart for 3 and a half hours. I came in to get a tire changed. Very simple operation, from what I understand. Only reason o couldn't do it from home is because 1) I'm a thousand miles from home, and 2) my car has an automated TPMS system and it's difficult to change and reset without the proper tools. Problem: They only have one technician on staff. You figure at a Walmart with an auto center (which not every Walmart has), they would staff multiple technicians to keep up with the flow of business, but they didn't. So, while my car is next in line and I'm sure I'll be more than happy with the mechanic's work, I have a central issue with the management. It's ludicrous to have to wait for nearly 4 hours for a simple tire change when there are only 8 people in line ahead of you. There were at least 5 people up at the register by the auto center in the course of my "stay" here. But there's only one person on duty to service the cars? It makes no sense to me, and the management staff NEEDS to correct that if they want to keep their customers happy. read more

I just went to this Walmart today and was told as I was walking into the self check out line by a lady named "Akira"(not sure on the spelling) that it's 25 items or less. I briefly counted my things and said, "I believe I'm under." She then said, "Well if you go over it will shut you out." With only 4 items left (toilet paper, paper towels, ginger ale, and white claw) the register locked up. Akira had been standing over by the computer and came over, "It locked up, you're going to have to take everything to another register." I replied, "I'm late, I don't have time. I just won't get these 4 things." She replied, "There's nothing I can do, you're going to have to go to another register." I replied, "I can't just buy what I've scanned? I'm in a hurry." She started to get upset and loudly said, "Sir, you're going to have to take your things to another register." So I did. I took my 29 items to another register where a girl had to pull all my stuff out of each bag, scan it and put it back in... This is usually the Walmart I shop at but I'm going to start driving somewhere else for groceries until I hear Akira is no longer there. Getting groceries shouldn't be that difficult. read more

Worst Walmart ever! Not much of a fan of Walmart anyway but this one is GHETTO as they come! I happen to order a photo on line and was just coming to pick it up. Of course there is no one in photo center anymore but it stated to push some screen so someone could come back to help us. We waited and what do you know, no one came to help us. We went to ask a girl from Electronics and you would have thought we asked her to come clean up vomit. The attitude was ridiculous! We interrupted her social hour apparently. I was on the phone today for two hours ,calling them & i was constantly getting hung up on and transferred repetitively.. Most people who i was able to talk to would only listen to the first thing i said, then would proceed to rudely transferring me without any warning ,just getting cut off! -YEAH LETS DO THAT! start transferring me somewhere as if they are mind readers... My question that I was needing answered & that was never answered , was Can I return my extra unborn baby's playard at that location ,since it was a present from the baby shower and ordered online its been an ordeal & I just cant seem to get an answer from these jerks. I even called to talk to the manager-guess what - 20 mins of silently waiting not a damn thing. Everyone should just stop going here & make this place go bankrupt because this is a horrible store. I dislike this location but it tends to have way more than the other locations. Ugh. Anyway so the shelfs are sometimes half empty and that becomes annoying. Don't see to many staff walking around to help customers. It's always busy here no matter the time. Parking is always filled and with the bus stops being in the back there's people literally everywhere. I like the fact it's near macdonalds and wing stop mmm good. Most lines were open which was surprising to say the least. Did not expect that at all. But of course when u pick the shortest line it moves slower than the longer line and your left feeling like I should have been there but you end up staying in the longer taking line due to not waiting to move. Ughh. They have a nail shop in here I wonder how good they are. There was two customers receiving service and they have student discounts. Yayy. read more

The only thing I despise about this Walmart are the ridiculously long lines at times. I thought it only happened at peak times but, during my recent visit, it was 10:30 AM on a week day (insert blank stare here). Another time, there were at least 200 customers in line with only a handful of registers open...but, people always say that about Walmart, right? That was around 9:00 PM on a Friday night. I never have an issue finding what I need. I actually find items that seem to be exclusive to this location. Which is very active to say the least. It's off of 70 and 40 hwy. I don't understand how a store that says on their post on their advertisement that they're open till 12:00 a.m. but they close at 11:00 and if you're not up at the register by 11:00 no matter who you are and how long the line is you're not going to get checked out that's what they say also they close the door early they won't let you in at 10:00 or 10:30 and that's bull crap too because there's no way that they should be able to close the door early anyway and not let you in the store when I work today at Walmart we had to open on time clothes on time in fact we never close but whenever we did close we close at an advertised time that the people knew and we did not close the doors early that is not customer satisfaction or service in this store really sucks this store is no good it's always dirty never really stopped in the parking lot is horrible and the employees are really mean especially the money center and the customer service read more
