Great experience. Employees are always helpful and store always organized and clean. Want to give special recognition to a young lady 'Emil' who was working in the toy department the day prior to Valentine's Day. I was searching for a puzzle with ducks, but could not find any. Emil asked if she could help with anything. I had mentioned was looking for a duck puzzle. I had kept looking down other aisles to see if I could find anything associated with ducks. After about five minutes, Emil approached me with a puzzle featuring ducklings. I was amazed this young lady searched for the puzzle and hunted me down. Emil represents what superior customer service stands for and I also give kudos to Management for their training. Will make it a point to shop this Leavenworth Walmart store as my primary. read more

Do not work here! if you're looking for a place to work this place is not it. The management here is horrible! They treat the employees like they're less than and are beyond hypocritical! they'll tell you to not do something and then turn around and be doing that very thing! they make excuses to fire you and tell you, you don't get you pto paid out. I find that this is an interesting location to review. On the one hand it's a standard Walmart Supercenter, with no surprises to speak of regarding prices, selection or layout. What did impress me was the number of disabled, err handi-capable ... no that not it ... how about alternatively abled people which they employ. While looking for a Keurig Classic coffee maker (which they did not have so I had to buy the Keurig Plus) I encountered not one or two but three people where worked there who were deaf. I was a bit surprised by this because while they each tried to help me in turn, there was a difficulty in communicating as I don't sign and they couldn't read lips. I wasn't in a hurry so it didn't bother me taking the extra time to find what I needed by myself, but I can see how this might have put others off. I think it's great that Walmart is heavily employing those from the deaf community here in town. I can't even begin to imagine how difficult it must be to get a job if you are deaf. At the same time I was surprised that I couldn't find somebody who I could speak with to ask questions of which made it a tad frustrating. read more

Heaven forbid you run over a nail or anything and have a slow leak on a tire and go to the Leavenworth walmart auto center on Nov 30th. And ask about getting it fixed. Was asked do you have a reservation. I said no. I was told they could not get me in until after the 10th of Dec. Cause they was booked up. You have got to be kidding me. All the auto bays was empty. Didn't see anyone working on any vehicles. This place is a joke. The manger of this department needs to get on the employees about how to really work a automotive department. You can't know when your going to run over a nail or anything and expect to wait over 10 days to get it fixed. As someone who does manual labor and has callist hands you can tell someone who hadn't done the work by looking at their hands. And the guy working the cash register hadn't done any of that work. How can you not go to Walmart for a couple of things and not have a but of fun while you are there. There are a million things to look at when at Walmart and none of them are sitting on a shelf. Sure, you are going to find that one or two items that you went in for and maybe a few extras you hadn't planned on, but the atmosphere is absolutely amazing. Where else can you find a business where the patrons are from a full blown circus, rodeo, Nascar race, monster truck rally, family reunion, Halloween costume contest, and DJ Jazzy Jeff concert at the same time. For the most part the employees are polite and helpful and you can get items not readily available and still enjoy the atmosphere. read more

I been in several Walmart's and this one has some challenges. Always having to navigate around stockers in the middle of the day - rather than have them restock in the early morning or evening hours. Seem they move stuff around a lot, makes it hard to find items. I've also seen where they have one checkout lane and about 5-6 employees standing around. Not managed very well. read more

Greeted at the door so kindly, and found everything I needed quickly without any issues. The lines were a bit long but moved at a quick pace. I had an issue getting cash back but after a couple minutes of waiting I was kindly helped. Just off the phone with a "manager" asking these questions on store pickup: how do I get items they have in the store but not available online defeating the purpose of store pick up (I have to go into the store) or how do I opt out of plastic bags to use my own . . . . 1st world probs that the "manager" wasn't very empathetic to help resolve. My biggest problem (same call) was a store pick up item still in its security case. Again, not very empathetic. Just bring it back and we ll open it. The inconvenience is weighing heavier than the convenience. Local spots are MUCH better and will have my business from here on out. Recommend Dillons or (even better) Price Chopper. read more

Stop locking up stuff if you dont have the staff to get the product. Why dont more employees have keys to the locked cases? I have, on multiple occasions, had to wait while employees working in the section with locked cases, had to go elsewhere to find someone with a key. While I understand you want to deter theft, you are also deterring paying customers. The employees themselves are great. David in hardware is always helpful and Ms Lady that works in the automotive dept always has a great attitude. I have been trying to give Walmart a chance, the fighting chance, and winning me over. But they failed me every time in the littlest away. I visit here very very often to buy groceries cheap movies and some furniture. At this location you are most likely not going to find much of anything in particular but the basics of everything. If that makes any sense. Such as trying to find a nice looking computer desk, and they only have square four-legged skinny desk that's pretty basic. No style or hints of color. In the grocery section, you are bound to find almost everything you need and at great prices. I haven't been in the home part of Walmart but when I do I will update my review. Now about the employees, there are many running around the store and stocking that you could find and ask questions. A bit of advice, do not ask any harder questions then where is this section for this product. for example where can I find tide for my washing machine something like that. Anything else they most likely do not know, and most employees don't seem to care to help you out. The layway section I would give them a grade of a D. I think this is the place employers hate to work at. It can't get much help back here and sometimes you will get an attitude and I've had to attitudes from two different people. I still love the process of layway so I deal. They also have a application where you can Scan your receipts and save money by them doing comparisons to their competitors. something like what target is doing but in a different way. read more

We all know all walmarts are pretty much the same. We love the low prices and being able to do mutiple types of shopping in one place. But even with the conveniences we like, there is no excuse for lazy staff and inaccuracies. I just recently began using walmart grocery online...and they always have excuses as to why certain items that I ordered off of their website is somehow never available. They never want to show me the products I ordered before I sign the pick up confirmation on their tablets. Their website claims that they are to substitute items that are not available, yet I always hear, "sorry mame, we'll have to reimburse you" which doesn't take effect until 5 days after your purchase. When I heard that walmart was going to provide a grocery delivery service, something told me it wouldn't last...and here this service hasn't been available a year and already, the lazy excuses emerge...I give it a year..it will be discontinued because most of the workers don't even want to work the registers, they literally run away from your questions, and refunds are almost a thing of the past. ..so what makes us think they want to do our shopping for us...1 year..it'll be gone read more

I have noticed over the past month drastic uptick in prices. Examples: sack of 3 cookies was selling for $1 a month ago; 2 weeks later $1.10. Today-same pack is $1.42. A six pack of coke was 2.48-now 3.48. Dog food has been another product with increases that dont seem warranted. These are just some examples. Customer service is horrible! All I did was ask customer service if they could help with an online order, I literally stood around after they called for the home department to come to the front desk, for 10+ minutes without so much as a word said to me, several yellow jackets walked around me, didn't make eye contact and didn't ask me if I needed help. It's Walmart (enough said?). This sole Walmart that serves the community of Lansing and Leavenworth has what a typical person would need for their day-to-day shopping needs. It has a grocery section, outdoors section, and your typical daily living items. This store also has a limited hunting/gun/outdoors/recreation section for those that may need something for an upcoming event or activity. The customer service is dismal and the bathrooms are atrocious. It's 24 hours so it can be a true life saver for us procrastinators. 3-srar for meeting basic expectations and for the average (expected) customer service. read more

While having my items rung up, one of the items lost a tag. The young man behind the register was obviously new and called over the CSM who kept telling him to punch in several different sku numbers. After approximately five minutes she had him charge me the price of the swim top for the bottoms which are cheaper. When I told her the bottoms were 7.97 and not 16.00 she said "You don't expect me to walk all the way up there do you?" Really? That's her job, customer service manager. Apparently no one told her that is what the CSM on her name tag meant. Needless to say I left the item behind. TRAIN YOUR PEOPLE WAL-MART!!! read more

I hate this place. It is difficult to find anything. The lighting makes me feel sick. I've been there for times since its been open and each time has been horrific. I don't understand why so many people shop there. Their prices aren't that good. They didn't have everything that I needed any of the times I went and my lists weren't long, so I don't see how it's convenient. It was the same way at the Dodge City branch and would shop there when I did out of necessity. Dodge didn't have the options we have here. I've found far better prices at Dillons, Aldi, Denny's Produce or down town specialty shops. Even if it is more expensive down town, it's worth it to not have to deal with that horrible place. read more

Well I thought if you had your receipt and your product quit working within an allotted time that Wal-Mart stood behind their merchandise and fixed the problem, well I suppose this Wal-Mart has a different theory. My husband bought a car battery, unfortunately it quit working so he takes the battery AND his reciept to go exchange it, this is where the Automotive manager informs him that he cannot exchange it because his machine says it's good. Now about this machine. In order to exchange/return a battery now they have to put it on a broke down dinosaur of machine, you physically have to sit down and wait for a piece of paper to print out which takes an hour to an hour and a half. Anyways after waiting an hour and fighting with the Auto Manager for over 10 minutes another manager comes back to automotive (one of the rare managers with common sense) and tells the cashier to do a refund. My husband came home and told me what happened so I called 1800walmart, there they took my complaint and as usual said the store manager would call me within 3 days, but to my surprise within an hour someone from Walmart calls me and who do you think it is? Yep the automotive Manager, the same brainless employee who my husband had trouble with. What since did that make to have him call? NONE!! Obviously the new store manager is going to be as useless as Doug was. And obviously it is company policy for employees and managers NOT to use common sense read more

I ordered my groceries on their grocery app, paid for them, & selected a time for pick up. I got an email saying the order was ready, I told the app I was on my way and I only waited less than 5 minutes for them to come out with my order! This was so fast and convenient!
