Long Lines! I mean 90% of the time! My family and I a couple of times had to be somewhere at a certain time to meet someone for an expensive business deal that we would have been 20min. early for but now jeopardizing the meeting would result in a $200 shopping cart left behind to make a meeting that was canceled because we were now late! Now we had to wait till another month or so to buy those things because of the lack of funds in our budget. Wal Mart is where our family shops all the time for just about everything. It is not a Super Wal Mart. Orange is a very small town and all the towns near it are very small too. So, we have found that the hours are terrible as a result! They close at 9 PM and that is that. For the longest time they would close at 9 PM most nights and switch to 10 PM then 9 PM and so on. This was because of the rapid change of managers. They got to decide what hours to close. As a result, our busy schedule would leave us buying something that we needed that night to now 2-3 weeks later or even not at all do to a change of plans for our business to go to a plan B (maybe a used part or something) I have to say that the rollover prices are awesome and better than the other Wal Marts in New England and surrounding states for I was a truck driver and love Wal Mart, I could compare prices from state to state. If you ever have extra spending cash, sometimes they have ridiculously low prices because of the low population to interest ratio. A mistake in a lot order can result in bulk left overs, leaving sometimes 95% discounts to take advantageo of. The boys baby section is not even a selection and the boys section is not even a section. It is really bad! To top it off, I feel that Wal Mart sells regular and husky sizes of pants at a 95% over weight and obese ratio than the US standard of 70% over weight or obese, leaving our minor So between the pros and cons of this Wal Mart in Orange and just over all, I rate it 3 stars. If they had better lines and stayed open EVERY NIGHT till 10 PM, It would have to be 5 stars. read more

This is a super dishonest store. I have ordered delivery many times but they fail 99% of t he time. Today, the driver claimed she attempted delivery but tracking shows that she lied. She never came within 2 miles of my home. The store says no cancellation or refund allowed. I have to pick it up myself but I am totally disabled. That's why I order home delivery. In my experience as a Walmart+ member, this store routinely discriminates and steals from disabled persons! read more

My son preordered the WANDAVISION blueray disc that doesn't come out till Wednesday . It came in the mail today which is Sunday . It cost him $50 . He opens it and it's badly scratched . So he messages Walmart and they sent him a code and told him to go to the store to get a refund . So we went . We can't believe how incredibly rude these older ladies were to him ! They refused to give him a refund citing policy and piracy laws. Basically accusing him of being a criminal . They were so rude and nasty to him . And said no refunds bc it was opened . How can anyone know it's damaged until it's opened ???? So ,he threw 50 dollars down the toilet bc they sent damaged disc ! This is a good Walmart, and they keep consistent hours. I noticed the bad reviews were primarily from people who live nowhere near Orange & they seem to be used to the Super Walmarts in big cities. I hate the supers stores, they're huge, crowded, parking is ridiculous and it takes so long to just go in, buy a couple things & get out. If you need groceries that bad there's a Hannaford's Supermarket 4 minutes down the road, right off 2A (Walmart is also on 2A) in with the Dunkin Donuts and Speedy Oil Change. I nearly cried when they changed the Walmart in Gardner to a superstore. The aisles all got very narrow & tight and boxes of cereal and generic cookies jammed the shelves where you used to be able to easily wheel your cart around & you suddenly had to go on a scavenger hunt for the items you used to buy on a regular basis & knew just where they were. They've expanded the store now (thankfully) so there's more floor space but still, I don't need to buy my motor oil and a jar of jalepenos all in the same huge rambling warehouse of a building. I much prefer the regular Walmarts and it's getting harder and harder to find one, this one in Orange is most refreshing. read more

This is the least impressive Walmart I have ever been to. It is not near the highway. There is special parking for police officers rather than pregnant women or people with young children which is a mystery to me. The police can just double park near the entrance. Who's going to give them a ticket? The floors have seen better days, the store is small, and selection is limited. Prices are high in part because their Great Value brand of many items is sold out. There were big gaps in the soup aisle. I don't know if it's supply chain issues or if people in the area are hoarding. The cashier was very slow. Very careful, but very slow. You will get a better Walmart experience elsewhere. There was ample parking and even on a Friday right after work the store was not crowded, so it may be a good choice for you if you are concerned about covid. Someone is also assigned to sanitize cards and push a clean one your way when you enter. read more

This is the strangest Walmart I have ever been to. I usually go looking for a specific brand or item and I usually leave without it. Brands and items that are found in most Walmarts are not readily available in Orange. It's ok for emergencies every now and then but honestly, I try to avoid it. Wal-Mart in Orange, salesperson was Jonshua, won't take the phone back and we are stuck with Sprint until contract runs out. I guess customer service ends once money is put in their hands. This Walmart is by far the worst I've ever shopped at. They are always out of product and the checkers are the most uncourteous I've ever seen! Would it kill them to smile- or perhaps greet the customer that is essentially signing their paycheck every week? The "garden center" should be renamed the "garden graveyard"- it's THAT bad! Walmart used to be this dinky little store with next to nothing in it. Then, one fabulous day came, and a contract was signed. Signed to not only remodel the store, but also add on a significant amount of space and a completely re-paved parking lot. Now the Athol side of the entrance/exit has added a "right turn only" lane. The "Orange" entrance/exit does have a Light that also accommodates the "left" turns! The staff is mostly friendly, with the rare occurrence of the angy customer rep. They added a large grocery area! The clothing selection is becoming a bit better. Our walmart also added a self-check-out area, with a friendly attendant to help if you're in need. I love our friendly local walmart. read more

I have always been treated courteously by all the employees I have come into contact with at this Walmart. They have an exceptional supply of Batteries for my solar system and now that they are expanding the food section I have found many healthy choices that are cheaper than Whole Foods or Hanniford. . The meat prices seem high. Hannaford's and Market Basket's meat prices are noticeably lower, which is good to know, since Hannaford is just down the street and the new Market Basket is about a 10 minute drive away. . This Wal-Mart's cheese and dairy products prices are also on the high side. They do have cases with large quantities of white eggs (which are their best deal), but since Wal-Mart seems to have run-ins with animal rights groups concerning their suppliers keeping chickens in "battery cages", it might be best to pass on buying any eggs here, if animal rights are of interest to you. . Wal-Mart's fresh produce and vegetables is a mix of regular and organic. Be aware that Wal-Mart's corporate office believes GMO foods to be ok and sells them in their stores. Unless you buy only organic veggies and organic produce, you could be buying GMO items. (That is a good rule of thumb no matter what stores you shop in). . This store's food dept is very well stocked and has a wide variety of baking supplies, canned, ,boxed, and bagged food items. It's quite extensive. Unfortunately, common items such as spaghetti sauce and parmesan cheese are cheaper elsewhere,. However, their canned meats (spam, chicken) and canned seafood items(clams, oysters, crab, mackerel, etc.) ,are good buys here. . One big dismay is this: The entire section of Wal-Mart's own brand of spices/seasonings appears to have been delineated. I was there last night and the entire section was missing. I'm talking about those plastic shaker-containers of garlic powder,assorted herbs, pepper, seasoning salt, etc. which use to sell for .50 cents each. Now all of them seem to have been discontinued. . The Food Department also has a great bakery section with a wide selection of flours. In addition to regular whole wheat flour, you will also find King Arthur's "White Whole Wheat " flour. If you have ever eaten bakery-made bread which was labeled; "White Whole Wheat ", this is the flour used to give it that awesome flavor. You can substitute it for all or half of the white flour required in any bread recipe. It does not produce "heavy" loaves. . The Jewelry dept has both costume and real jewelry. The prices of both seem to be what you would expect. I had a problem with the 6 pairs of costume jewelry earrings which I bought last summer. The "gold" on them began to rub off after about the 2nd and the 3rd time I wore them. Be aware that the costume jewelry you buy there might not last as long as you'd expect. If you are looking for nice, quality costume jewelry, then a department store would probably be your best bet. . This store's clothing section is nice, with a good amount of regular women's and women's plus sizes in attractive styles and colors. Their clothing does tend to run a bit small and it also tends to shrink after being washed/dried, so if you use a dryer, use as low a setting as you can. Better still, use a clothes rack . Now we come to their Lawn and Garden department, or, in other words, "Plant Hell". The Lawn and Garden's idea of watering plants seems to be to wheel the large shelving units out into the fenced outdoors area and let the rain do it. Any plants not able to be rained on are out of luck, especially those stuck indoors. I would not plan to buy plants from this store. It seems as if watering the plants is not in anyone's job description. . Their Bakery dept is well laid out and everything looks delicious. I have bought their glazed yeast donuts and find them comparable to Dunkin Donuts' version in size, flavor and texture. A bakers' dozen sells here for $3.99. . There are not many employees around if you need to ask a question and there are not many registers open no matter what day/time I've been there. It looks like a skeleton crew is all they ever seem to schedule. . They do have good bird seed prices and good prices for bird feeders as well as for cat/dog canned food prices. The brands they carry for pet food and litter seem to be diminishing. For the last 2 months I have been unable to find "Feline Pine" there and they used to carry it. Fortunately, both Hannaford and Market Basket carry it, so that's another "pull" in those directions for me. Is the store clean? About average, I'd say. The floors are free of trash, for the most part. There are not enough employees to keep up with "neatening" of the shelves so shelves are often in disarray due to people not putting items back where they found them. . Restrooms have been clean every time I've been in them. There is always paper in the stalls and soap in the dispensers. The hand-dryers work well. . There is always available parking here. The lot is large. Handicapped drivers should have no problem finding a handicapped parking space, for there seems to be an abundance of them in each lane. read more
