Walmart pickup department is horribly managed. Between long wait times and severe understaffing it takes 5 cars over 30 minutes to get an order. Not to mention when it's busy you're better off canceling your order. Management fails to address almost all issues. Upper management NEEDS to do something! read more

Delivery is not what it used to be. We can't get our orders delivered and we're only a half mile away.

BAKERY - what a joke. Trying to find someone there is a job in itself. Finally did after 3 days (go first thing in the morning) and then we get our cake that we ordered a week in advance and we got a cake that is lop sided and imagine we ordered for it was smashed onto the top of the lid. I have had good service at the Staunton Virginia WalMart. I recognize that, like most WalMart stores, there is a shortage of employees to accommodate the large number of customers. This is not by any means the employees fault. That would be a management issue. I also had a very positive experience with the Staunton WalMart Pharmacy. I transferred several prescriptions from out of state and was able to renew and pickup my medications within hours. I appreciate good, reliable service. read more

I had a very unpleasant experience at this Walmart Supercenter on May 14, 2023. I was shopping in the electronics department when a customer made a complaint about me to Jonathan, the general manager in training. all i did was ask a person to mive after waiting for a long period of time.Jonathan was very unprofessional about the complaint, and he did not even investigate the matter before making a decision. He simply assumed that I was at fault and told me that I was no longer welcome in the store. I was so humiliated that I left the store without buying anything. I am writing this review to warn other customers about Jonathan's behavior. He is an unprofessional and biased employee who should not be working in customer service. I hope that Walmart will take action to address this situation and ensure that their customers are treated with respect. read more

I placed an order for online delivery to be delivered at 6:00pm the same night, paying $15 extra to have it delivered same day. It wasn't delivered that night. I called the next morning to have it rescheduled the following evening, I was reassured it would be scheduled again. It was never delivered the following evening either. I was asked to go online to either cancel my order or reschedule for the third time. I felt this was unacceptable. I won't receive a refund for 3-5 business days. You will have quite a different shopping experience at the Staunton, VA Walmart, vs the Waynesboro store, or any of the many other Walmarts I have been in. In the other stores, once you get to the checkouts, you will move thru quickly, and soon be on your way. However, at the Staunton store, you get to enjoy your spot in line for well over an hour. It is a great time to strike up conversations with the other 20 people in your line. In the other Walmarts, those 20 people are in 4 different checkout lines, and the lines move so quickly that the customers aren't interested in conversing, but are focusing on the rest of their day. In the Staunton store, you don't have to worry about what you will do over the next hour. It will be spent right there. Strangely, folks around you in line all bear the same facial expression. Noticing the line you're in has grown longer and longer, and people are now quite angry, you call the store and ask the customer service folks to please send out another cashier. Then you're told they can't. So you ask for a manager. You are put on hold. A couple minutes later, you are disconnected. Calling again, they say they will send someone to help. A management employee is in an area behind the line. He looks frantic, like "what do I do?". Nothing changes. I approach him, and ask if he could get someone to open another line. He looks at me and says "everybody has all the answers". I told him I didn't appreciate that. His look to me conveyed "I don't care". I gave him my cart, and told him to get someone to put it away, as some things were perishable. I left the store and went to Martin's grocery store. Wanting Walmart to be able to fix this, I contacted Walmart corporate. A week later, on a Saturday, I popped into the store. Again they had one checkout, with about 15 carts in it. (They are trying to force everyone to scan it themselves, but this isn't practical with full carts, and older folks like the human interaction). Since the situation hadn't been fixed, I contacted corporate again. To date, the issue still hasn't been fixed, nor has anyone made an attempt to contact me. The whole world knows Walmart doesn't care about their employees-thats a given. The truth is they don't care about their customers either. I'm sure each store has metrics involving how they are doing financially. Why not have metrics regarding customer service as well? Oh yeah, that's right, you'd have to CARE about your customers to do that. Walmart is the world's largest retailer. They built that on having great prices-which they do. It dawned on me, while standing in one place in that line for an hour, that I have something I value much more than money, and that is my time. If I spend ten bucks more elsewhere, but don't waste that hour in line, that's good. I will survive that ten bucks. But life is short. I was mad when the Staunton store wouldn't fix this issue (months earlier, the same scenario, but thought I would give them another chance). But when Walmart corporate wouldn't fix it, nor even contact me, I was hurt. Their actions say "WE DON'T CARE!" read more

It's a typical Walmart. The employees can be very rude. I don't understand why they would be stocking shelves at 1pm on a Saturday. They never have many lines open and only one open after 10pm even on a Friday and Saturday night. read more

I needed a piece of fabric and made the mistake of thinking Walmart would be the place to go. I went to the fabric department and there was no one around, the nice lady who usually works at night ( Alice ) was apparently off .I stood there 5 minutes or so and then had someone from Hardware page someone back to crafts for me, I heard her page loud and clear but apparently I was the only one who did. Another 10 minutes goes by and no one has shown up. I proceed to the auto department and asked a worker if he would page again in which he did, needless to say this fell on deaf ears as well. I finally went to the front and found a department manager who told me she didn't have numbers to help me and she didn't know who did but she would try to find someone. To sum it all up I stood back there for a good 30 minutes and never got my fabric. Time to start looking for a new place to shop. One star because it's the minimum I can leave .There's always a skeleton crew and a lack of high morale at that store. Hoping new Manager is able to lift morale there, Update: I did contact corporate after this incident and no one ever returned my call. I no longer shop at Staunton Walmart, also it appears the New Manager from my view point has only deepened the wound of morale which I didn't think was possible. read more

I'll avoid this Walmart in Staunton, Virginia like the plague. They are forcing you to use self check out by normally only having one cash register open other than the tobacco line. It has got to the point where Walmart in general carries nothing that I want. For example, they stopped carrying decent earbuds, certain types of snuff, limited selections of oatmeal...the list goes on. More and more, I end up having to go somewhere else to complete my grocery list. I no longer shop for groceries at Walmart now but rather just go to Food Lion or Kroger's. Rather than carrying what people want, Walmart is trying to force you to certain brands. The convenience is no longer worth the trip to Walmart. read more

May 20, 2018 TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: I have been a regular customer at our local Staunton, Virginia Walmart since the store was first opened some 25 years ago. The convenient location and prices have always been appealing to me, however the recent introduction of self-checkout machines have soured my experience to the point that I am ready to leave and shop elsewhere. After several verbal and physical altercations with the machines (one of which left me with $80 cash in hand that I didn't want), I quit using them, period. It is very obvious that store management is being coercive in forcing customers to stand in long lines if they refuse to use the machines. This evening was the worst experience to date. Only one cashier checkout line was open, an express line that was backed well into the main aisle. I spent 20 minutes in this line, thankfully without ice cream. The customers nearby and close enough for discussion were as disgusted as I was. People don't like being coerced into doing a cashier's job without compensation, while store employees, many of whom we have had warm relationships with going back through the years, are disappearing. This store has high quality fruits and vegetables for relatively cheap prices. They also have a good section with clothing. I have not looked in any other sections, so can't write about that. Based on my experience, this is a nice store to do your shopping at. I would give it give stars if not for the long wait time at the registers. read more

The staff is grossly under trained. No one seems to know what is going on. My prescriptions have been "misplaced" numerous times and my kids had to go without for almost a week!! When I've called to get information I've gotten a different story from everyone I spoken to. read more

I just wanted to take a moment to bring an issue to your attention.I first of all , have been in the Customer Service Industry and have had and am still having wonderful and profitable career ..well into my 50's. I am also very sympathetic and completely understand the not so pleasing side of dealing with people on a constant basis and must remind myself often that without these people I would not be driving a new car...or own my home..I shop at your Staunton location very often and it pains me to say that the Customer Service in your store is without a doubt the worst I have encountered in my entire career as a service professional .I have been told on numerous occasions "I am on my break , find someone else." ..I" DONT KNOW"must be the first passage in the employee Bible.,Not to mention the absolutely disagreeable and nasty Battle Ax in the photo dept "Sandy I believe is her name.I have gone there 4 times now with the intention of spending a great deal of cash on photos and each visit I have said never mind I will come back another time ..due to her terrible attitude and her huffing and puffing and treating me as though I was bothering her. and she did not have time to do her job. Went to pick up a few things with the family. Tried to get beer... ONE six pack... Showed ID of the two people actually checking out and the lady made a huge deal about questioning us on our age with our IDs in her hand... We're both 26. So first that was rude. Then my boyfriends brother walked up and suddenly we weren't allowed to buy the six pack... Well we're not going to drive 10 miles across town to go to Walmart and leave his brother at home and then go back and drive back again so he can get what he needs... so I told him to go wait outside and we went to a different line. So then after all that the "manager" on today was completely rude about it. She started telling across the lines that we had been denied alcohol as if we had tried to buy it without being 21. Pharmacy workers are very rude! I always used to be treated nicely there before but today when trying to fill a prescription I had very bad service. The woman was rude from the moment I walked up to her, and when I gave her my prescription she said "we don't take out of state prescriptions". I was confused because I've filled here two or three times already, but when I asked for clarification she simply repeated that she was going to refuse my prescription.
