I stopped in this a.m. for a couple of shoe insoles... in the pharmacy area, right by the doors. Then the Self Checkout are RIGHT there too so I can get in/out. I was checking out at 7:45a when they open at 7. I was quickly reminded that while getting to the store at open is such a PAIN! Despite opening at 7:00 you would assume employees are there well before then, even overnight stockers. The self checkouts are always down within at least the first hour of open and there is only one cashier, a middle lane, today lane 10. I regularly used the other doors by the produce and despite having four or five self checkouts on that side, one would be functioning. I really think you can somehow... do better. If self checkout is a convenience... make it convenient. read more

Online ordering is ridiculous for this place. I have been waiting 20 minutes in the parking lot to pick up my stuff and it was not a big order. Every single parking slot is full here. The customers have actually been leaving without having picked up their orders. No Walmart employees have even come out either. Why are they so slow?! To start off this Walmart Vadnais Height doesn't even deserve a rating. February 8, in the evening time (6pm-7:30pm) went to this store, got the items I needed went to checkout. As I'm scanning and bagging my groceries they alerted my self checkout machine waited over 5 minutes before a guy proclaiming to be waiting on higher management, some short big head hispanic with slick back ponytail comes over and tells my family we have to go to a register. Well that did not happen and instead of scan her ID and let us finish scanning, she kept being very rude and disrespectful accusing us of stealing. And when we asked us her to stand there and watch us ring up since being black is the only reason we were being accused of stealing. Receipt shows items were scanned even when they looked at the computer screen. Someone needs to fire Ignorant Management and higher up management accusing people of stealing is discriminatory and down right wrong. Walmart new self checkout system is set up on those phones they're carrying around and hitting the button to hold people up in checkout lines mostly black people. Its downright disgusting behavior and discriminatory against the customers. This post will remain up until changes are made to stop the discrimination against people of diversity mainly people black. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for this type of nonsense!! Fix the PROBLEM fire big headed Hispanic girl in your management dept, she is big problem. Any one goes in this store if management stops you from scanning your items start video taping and recording their actions and post them online for all to see. This location is so nice since they have remodeled into a Super Wal- Mart. The place is huge. It's clean and has a large variety of different brands. My last grocery shopping trip I found some great finds. -Yellow Rice -Chicken Spinach Artichoke Sausage -Super fresh sesame bread all at a very reasonable price. Their produce is all right. I found what I needed. I went to check out and my clam shell of blueberries spilled open and went all over the floor. I offered to sweep them up. She wouldn't hear of me cleaning them up and told me not to worry; she would take care of it. The girl checking me out was so nice and friendly and told me it wasn't a big deal. She would take care of it. I still felt bad. Not a fun thing to have to do so early in the morning. She checked me out and sent me on my way with a smile and told me to have a good day. Not all people at Wal-Mart are as tragic as everyone jokes about. A lot of the people working there are super friendly, helpful and work their tails off. Retail can be a thankless daunting job. Employees were too busy talking to help me find a product. One of the three employees was working and she was the only one who had the decency to acknowledge I needed help but she is the one that told me to go buy it online. Customer service was not very concerned when I told her employees in the department were too busy talking to help me go look for the product. She seemed upset at me for telling her about it. She told me where the product was in the store though. I will only go back to this store as a last resort. Also, after reading a number of one star reviews it appears Walmart does not care that customers are disappointed in their shopping experience as the same types of reviews continue to show up. Do you really like paying employees for ignoring the customers. I looked directly at the two employees talking and asked where to find something. One of them looked at me and then looked away and continued to talk to the other employee. Compare this to my experience at Target where two employees were working together on something and I stopped and asked them to help me find a product. They both had the courtesy to stop working and one of them walked me over to where the product was located. They were both very friendly and helpful. Thanks Target! read more

If it were possible to leave 0 stars I would! I purchased $60 worth of gift cards to give as prizes for a baby shower. The girl who rang my transaction accidentally scanned them wrong and they were never activated. When I went to return/exchange them, "Jimmy" the manager of the customer service department told me he couldn't return gift cards because they were final sale even tho they were never activated. When he scanned them in it said the cards weren't activated so instead of ringing them in as a sale to activate them, he told me verbadumm "it's not our problem and you have to call the number on the back of the gift cards to deal with it.". And then he said it was time for his break so if I had any other issues that I should stop back another time.... Wtf. Worst customer service Ive ever experienced!! read more

Worst Walmart you can shop at. Certain Employees won't help you if your peoples of color in my experience. Last visit had me asking for help from 5 different employees and even made a phone call to their store asking for help and no one was able to help me out. Was rejected by the same female employee twice from electronic. Please look at your customer when their asking for help, not just do what your doing and brush them off not even looking at them like their some kind of animal. They are not cleaning or sanitizing carts at all any more. I have not seen the cashiers cleaning the counters either. Also I really wish they would put the benches back at the front of the store, and maybe add a couple throughout the store. Disappointing automotive center. Needed the cabinet unlocked to buy new headlights, despite walking right up to the person working could not get his attention, only after a male customer walked up behind me asking for help did he stop what he was doing (still helped the male customer first). Also would not let me take the headlights in my own bag, insisted I waste a single use plastic bag unless I would exit the store directly from the automotive door. I had been warned not to order same day service from the Walmart Vadnais Heights location. I should have listened. I placed an order online early in the day. I received an email that the order was ready this evening. When I arrived at the store, not only was I told that the order was not ready, but the only person working the pickup counter was an old woman that could not wrap her mind around how SAME DAY ordering works. Apparently, there was also no manager available to talk with me. Frustrated, I contacted the "customer service" line. The customer service representative contacted the store directly, who basically told her they had no idea when the order would be filled. The store has since closed for the day, so I am cancelling the order online. Walmart had no issue instantly billing my credit card, but the Vadnais Heights location can't deliver items as promised. I would rather pay more elsewhere than to have to deal with Walmart's incompetent employees, impotent customer service, and absentee management. I don't expect much in the area of service from Walmart or its slave labor, but I do expect to get what I pay for and on time. read more

I shopped alot at Walmart in vadnais heights. Tried to contact store by internet and it was a joke. Yesterday I stop in for 11 items and was able to pick 6 of the 11. Labels have been removed telling me they don't stock any longer. The place is not cared for, there are cooler that are empty. Plain vanilla low calorie ice cream no longer available,(Best Value brand). Now I will need to go to Roseville Walmart or another stoce altogether. read more

Really upset to see MULTIPLE people without masks! I came here to get a Covid vaccine and felt so unsafe but it was the only place I could get in. I felt like I might get it while waiting in line to receive it! Literally, 10 or so. Customers with no mask as! There' is still a mandate last I checked... I work in a grocery store and we stop people who don't wear them. Team members call the manager/shift lead immediately. We care about our staff and customers, not sure about this place. If I could give this place a zero I would. Went into store to pick up an item which was of course out of stock (seems the norm now days). My biggest issue was upon walking in and seeing several employees with no mask on. The worst was an employee stocking fruits and vegetables with no mask on and coughing all over. There was several customers with no masks on also. The baking aisle was trashed, flour all over, stuff strewn about all over. Lots of items missing from shelves sitting on pallets in the center. This Walmart has always been subpar and every time I decide to give it another shot it, it doesn't fail to let me down. read more

I don't like coming in this place but it's close so I do on occasion. Store is a mess cashiers are ok. I always go thru self check out. What I can't stand is the lady at the exit. She's super aggressive and is very rude and treats me like I'm stealing every time. So weird and off putting. If you want to see my receipt just ask nicely! This review is based on their auto center: I was in need of two services- an oil change and a brake lamp. What I left with was a broken light housing, no new bulb, and a nagging message from my car telling me I still needed an oil change. Here's the deal: DON'T TOUCH THE FUCKING HOUSING IF YOU DON'T HAVE A BULB TO REPLACE THE OLD ONE. Now here's the other issue- I heard loud banging in the garage area, and I was in the other side of the window in the lobby. It was loud enough for me to turn my head to see wtf was going on. It was one of their Harvard scholars banging on MY car. "They're going to fucking break something" was all could think. Five minutes later the service manager approaches me, with his official story "they dropped it". Bullshit, but whatever. They're paying for it. Which leads me to going to the dealership and getting it done right for top dollar, two additional hours of my new day wasted, and I still have to go back to Walmart to get reimbursed, which tacks another hour onto my day waiting in garages. Abridged version: 1. A Walmart employee broke the light housing for the break light 2. They didn't even have the bulb to replace the burned out one (so they shouldn't have touched it at all) 3. The Vadnais Heights store is the worst Walmart. Store is dirty, disorganized, consistently out of stock on common items, employees are not trained adequately and management is horrible and doesn't care. There are never enough check out employees or customer service desk employees so the lines and time to check out is horrible. I personally avoid gong to this Walmart. It's normally a total mess. But the workers have always been kind.

I actually like shopping at Walmart. It has most items I need most of the time. The floor employees are very helpful. The only negative thing I can say is sometimes the check out counter staff (younger kids) are not very personable and could use a little touch up on their people skills. But I got to say I can relate because it would be frustrating sometimes doing the same old stuff and taking heat from some people waiting in line too long and sometimes I can be a grumpy old man. I had my oil changed in my car by the Service Center in Vadnais Heights. They never said anything was wrong and I was not leaking oil, nothing on my driveway. Two weeks later I have oil covering my manifold from them adding to much oil and blowing the seal. The oil is still full but I lost about a quart. Brought it back and they took pictures. Third party insurance company said they cant prove Walmart is at fault, without looking at the pictures and refused to file a claim. I am now out of a safe car. I guess I am not a valued customer after 10 years. read more

You know instead of harassing the customers to "check" receipts why don't you put them on a register or in the money center where they are needed. This is the only Walmart I've been to in Minnesota and Texas that "checks" you're receipts. Over all bad experiences at this location be it in the "auto" center or to the clothes department. This auto center is one of the worst. I've had several problems at this location. I understand there can be short staff, but some of the workers are just lazy and inconsiderate. A few times I've gone for an oil change the ladies sit there and talk about random personal things while "taking care" of customers. I've met one nice respectful guy in the auto department, but I forgot his name. One day that REALLY pissed me off was 01/14/22!!! Around 1:30pm I went to get an aux w/ iPhone adapter which are located in auto. I'm standing there (there's no button) just waiting a few minutes. I walk over to the counter, a guy comes out, and does say one word. I said excuse me could someone grab this cord for me quick? The guys says "he sees you, he'll be with you in a minute". I said okay thanks. 20 min goes buy the guy comes out checks out another customer and then randomly helps this guy with windshield wipers. I go to the isle asking could he help me grab this aux cord real quick, he ignored me. I said excuse me are you going to help me, he said just a sec. So I patiently wait by the cabinet AGAIN another 10 min goes by I check again and he says just a sec. He then checks out the guy for the blades, I'm standing by the cabinet AGAIN and he laughs about me to the customer, jokingly saying "I've been patiently waiting" the guy leaves and I'm still waiting! I walk over there and ask are you going to help me or not I JUST NEED AN AUX CORD. He says I'm coming, I walk with him and he walks past the cabinet, I said it's right here where are you going. I need this one that's it. He slowly checks my item out and as I'm irritated he wants to act like nothing happened. I said to him I'm not trying to be rude, but do you realize you had me standing there for a cord for over 45 MINUTES!!? It literally took you two seconds to grab it and bag it!? That's ridiculous. He had NOTHING to say. (No offense don't remember his name but it was the big old white guy) there customer service is TRASH. I am in customer service, we are short staffed as well, but not paying attention to customers.. getting simple tasks done in a timely manner... or even keeping customers updated when you can't get to them right away... or simply asking how may I help you instead of saying nothing.
