I also saw a pair of boots I had purchased at the Richmond location that were 30$ more then I had paid. Also, the line up to pay/ do returns was longer then any other. This was at 2 pm. I would hate to see it around closing time. The only reason I am giving it 2 stars instead of 1 was because the return process was quick and painless - ( after I waited 20 mins in line ) the lady was polite and another cashier was efficient and nice. I came in and asked if i could try on the shoe even without an appoitnment and the staff was very accommodating to offer help. Greeted right when I stepped in. Sahil was kind enough to check their store stock as well as their distribution warehouse that is attached. I had an appointment at another location a week ago so I had an idea of the footwear I was looking for. Sahil followed up after bringing me the shoe and helping other people in the store. He was able to provide good insight on the shoe I was trying. Generally impressed with my experience at kintec because the you can tell the staff have either worn many of the shoes themselves or know what they are talking about. Despite trying on a pair of shoes that were on sale and one that was not, I didn't feel pressured to go for the more expensive one as some stores do. I had learned that they don't get commissions for sales so maybe that's why. The store was spacious, clean abd organized. This particular store was a bit in a sketchy area that mostly has car dealership stores but it has its own parking lot which is convenient as it was on King George Boulevard which is a main road thst could get busy. That being said , I was able to find 2 hr street parking too ( I didn't expect a parking lot). Sahil said this store had the warehouse and the lab attached and some of the other stores don't I'd be coming back here for any future shoes for sure! I went in because my grandmother wanted to grab a sweater for my dad, and she sent me in line with the item and a hundred (as grandmothers do) while she waited by the side. Instead of an easy transaction, I actually got carded for using cash, which made things complicated since I wasn't carrying much personal items on me (I had three other shopping bags and my personal bag was filled with things I was carrying for my grandmother-- my only personal items were keys, phone, compass card, and old wallet) and wasn't exactly expecting for them to take my photo id and bill from me and then show it to other employees. Needing to verify if the bill was authentic, sure. Wanting to see my ID? A bit weird and off-putting. Actually taking it from me and saying it wasn't good enough since it was an old one? I'm not sure how it became about the sale to becoming about ME somehow. I was willing to just pay for the purchase with a twenty from my old wallet instead when my grandmother finally came back asking what was taking so long and they accepted the bill, and that's when they seemed to say the bill was good and gave me back my id. Then they tried to play that off as 'store policy'. Well, if it's store policy to ID patrons for paying in cash (as I've bought well over a hundred in clothing at UP before while paying in credit card and no one batted an eye), then I'm certainly not coming here anymore. At least with their sign up, I had the option of declining each time. Maybe I'm thin-skinned, but I had to seek confirmation from multiple people throughout the day to make sure that I didn't look like a thief of scoundrel of some sort.
