In-store Ghost Kitchen Pizza review only: Noticed a new section of the Walmart at Dufferin Mall offering made-to-order pizza and found out it was really "Ghost Kitchens" leasing space to sell pizza. Was told by worker that they could give me almost unlimited quantity of toppings (primarily cheese) offered by them, for no extra charge. Pies are 16" with Plain/"Cheese" $9.99, "Veggie" & "Pepperoni" $10.99, and "Deluxe" for $11.99, and no extra charges beyond that for "double," "triple," or more in quantity of toppings. Tried the "Veggie" with slightly more than "quadruple" cheese and was generally underwhelmed. "Veggie" comes with red & green peppers, black olives, and mushrooms. Mine had no mushrooms due to unavailability. Price still was $10.99. The dough tasted bland and underdone. Not much air pockets. Sauce was watery and also dull. Cheese was great in quantity but not with any intricacies in flavors. The oven used is the tiniest conveyor belt oven we've witnessed (pictured, on table). This could be the source of a lackluster pie... Would recommend ordering with sparse toppings and possibly 2 turns through their conveyor belt oven. If compared to Costco pizza ($12.99 for "Pepperoni" and "Cheese" pizza with generous quantity of cheese and/or pepperoni), Costco was generally superior in all but price. The good thing about this Walmart/Ghost Kitchen pizza is the low price for "Veggie," and "Deluxe" pies, at 16" for $11.99 or less with practically unlimited topping quantities at no extra charge beyond base pizza price (something Costco doesnt offer). My online Walmart.ca account was compromised and the perpetrators used my name and credit card to order $400 in groceries to their address. Walmart has been useless and dismissive in helping me resolve this incident. I have called and emailed customer service, their Privacy Office, Ethics office but all have made it clear they don't care and this is my problem. I will not be ordering off Walmart.ca any longer and encourage others to check out the writeup on the Better Business Bureau about Walmart -- they do not appear to be accredited and there are hundreds of pending complaints. A decent Walmart but we didn't peruse the whole thing. At the entrance they have the crowd control barriers there so I wonder if it gets super busy at this one. We were there on the weekend but I didn't feel like I had to fight through crowds like I do at other Walmarts. Maybe this one was more spacious! When you walk in there is a grocery section and to the left of that are the registers including self checkout. In the men's clothing section, there are a ton of licensed Disney/Marvel/Star Wars related shirts. They are pretty decent designs and at pretty decent prices too, they started around $10 and went to about $35 for the priciest ones. read more

Buyer beware they have third party products I ordered a product and got charged extra delivery fee the same day I ordered I tried to cancel as I was not paying for extra delivery fee $9.00 after I spent over $35.00 for free delivery with Walmart. HORRIBLE customer service. Rude employees who are almost always speaking another language in front of customers. The employees need customer service training and should understand ALL customers are valuable and need to be treated as such. Will I return? We stopped by here tonight to pick up a few items and it was an ok experience. The Location: This location is not as clean as the location I frequent and I felt a little unsafe in the parking lot. The Employees: The employees were not too knowledgeable on where product would be located in the store. When I asked an employee where the freezer section was her response was, "I don't know". With that being said, the cashier was really friendly and courteous. We checked out at an ok speed. Would I return? Only if I am passing by and really need something from Walmart. read more

They were apparently guarding the hand sanitizer when I went to grab a bunch for my family. But I didn't get enough for my family, so they had to go to get it them selves...Annnd the guardians of the sanitizer were no where to be seen as was the supply that was there moments ago. I imagine they enforce this at the cash though because they have signs informing people of this throughout, which still doesn't do much though given the empty shelves. Touch less payment is non existent so you either a) have to come into contact with a pay terminal that others have touched, with no way of hitting the buttons(thank god for first aid gloves) or B) handle money(which the WHO is claiming can transmit the virus) to their credit, when we checked our I noticed the cashier sanitize the area that vegetables are placed on to avoid contamination. Just need to have a little rant. Where do you go when customer service won't listen to you? Who can I reach out to? I ordered a laptop online from Walmart Canada back in August. I realized once I received it that it wasn't going to suit my needs. I went back to Walmart here in Collingwood and they said it had been ordered through "groceries" so it had to be mailed back. I ordered it online... it let me order so I had no clue it was through "grocery". I received the address and had Canpar pick it up. I received confirmation that it had been received on Sept 28 at their warehouse in Mississauga. Since then I have reached out at least 10 times (they will have that on record). I have been on hold many many hours. Each time I am told that it will take 3-5 days to receive a credit on my card. Three times I have been told that it has been escalated and I should wait another 3-5 days and that they will manually process the credit. I asked for a supervisor one time and spoke to her. Next time when I asked they told me it was impossible to speak to a supervisor but they would call me within 24 hours. That was about a month ago. I called again and for some reason it was now possible to speak to a supervisor, which I did. Still nothing. Next call I was given an email address to message. Automatic reply said 3-5 days and I'd hear from them. Nothing. Sent another email. Nothing. I am beyond frustrated and I don't know who to turn to at this point. They owe me almost $340!! I moved around the area and I often go in the morning and the lady where you can make your payments (she's got bangs) is extremely kind, they also give out free COVID tests (which cost 90$ during COVID ugh) it's always useful to have spares. Please make 100% sure that the items marked with a sale price, are rang In/scanned to show that same sale price. There is nothing more annoying then to find out you paid something different then what you were intending to pay. For example: at this store they offered 3 cans of chunky soup for $6 (3 for 6) When I get home I notice my recept shows I paid full price for each can. Each can was $2.97 so when I checked my recept when I got home, I notice I paid almost $3 more then what I was intending to pay. read more

This is probably my favourite Walmart un the GTA. Sinply due to the fact it has smaller traffic than others and the staff are a lot more friendly than the other Walmarts I have been to. This Walmart is fairly tidy and they open bright and early at 7am. With the McDonald's inside it's helpful as I used to work early mornings and it was nice to be able to get a breakfast and buy some household goods before heading off to work. The staff at that McDonald's inside are probably the nicest I've met working at the golden arches! Overall we all need to go to a Walmart at some point in the week and this one is my go to for such occasions! read more

This location is a Supercentre so its even more confusing than it needs to be. This store's layout takes a little getting used to as it's split between two floors instead of being all on one like your used to. This particular location never seems to be overly clean, nor do they ever seem to have enough cashiers working. Other than that it's your typical Wal-mart with blue-haired lady greeters and people ready to run you over in a second on their motorized wheelchairs. read more

The staff pointed us in the right direction when we couldn't find stuff. We managed to find the rest painlessly. I used the self check-out machine and ironically two items didn't read and I had to wait for a human to fix it each time! Ha! Corporate companies trying to get rid of humans but you still need them to fix the stupid machines! We were in and out fairly quickly which makes me happy as I don't like crowds. read more

rating for the actual store: 4 rating for Walmart.ca's return services: 1 I was at the Walmart -Dufferin Mall store around noon today, trying to return one item from Walmart.ca. It was a bottle of VIM bathroom cleaner, apparently from the online "grocery" department. It took two in-store representatives, plus an additional representative on the phone, to assist me with the return of this item that cost $2.47. It was painful to wait as long, and as noticeably, as I did. I understand that a part of the reason was due to the online system not being properly set up for the return of grocery store items that were purchased online. I was feeling more and more annoyed and angered, the longer I was made to wait for an item that cost $2.47 to add to my online order. I took the time to compliment the service that I received, when I picked up my 9-10 a.m. order yesterday from Walmart.ca. Today, I was forced to wait so long, and seemingly needlessly - it's not typical for a return to take this long. I hope that you're able to update your systems for online returns. Today's experience was one that makes me suspect Walmart.ca is using an outdated system for online items to be returned. No one should ever have to wait 20-30 min. during a time where it's not very busy at all. D-Mall Wal-Mart! I'm a sucked for box stores, and this is as close as they get in that part of the city. Look - it's cute. It has a washroom hidden behind doors of doom, and it's often dirty. The escalator that moves your cart breaks down more than it should, leaving you to figure out how you're going to reclaim all your well selected products. The employees are less helpful than the price scanners you can never seem to find. Item locations rarely make sense. The Wi-fi they offer is cute, as it's spotty as anything. But... for some reason it keeps drawing me in. This should be a 1 star review, but I just feel... better... when I'm in that store. Note: This is not an effect of all Wal-Marts. The prices are low but the produce is awful. They have a security guard that "randomly" checks the receipts of individuals exiting into the parking lot. It seems that they prefer to target minorities when conducting these checks. This type of behaviour is considered illegal in Canada; stores are not allowed to conduct unlawful searches without cause. And the behaviour totters on profiling. Walmart gets away with it because they know they are walking a fine line. I'm boycotting them from here on. read more

This is the 3rd Wal-Mart I've visited this week, call me crazy but what the heart wants the heart gets. After the first one, they all start to look alike, this one is at least close to downtown so the drive was not too far. 2 levels of shopping madness. A practical store in a practical mall selling practical goods to practical people, skip the frills momentarily and live in the moment. Brup brup! One of my friends lives near this Wal-Mart and we've found ourselves here on many occasions. It is a big Wal-Mart conveniently located at Dufferin mall, and they have a big food section too. However, our last experience was so frustrating that we made a pact... A promise to never set foot in this Wal-mart again! * Someone sniped my parking spot, but we didn't make a fuss because you don't want to get shot. * They were completely out of carts ...we hunted around for a good 20 minutes. Even the staff had no idea why there were no carts. We gave up on trying to buy things and cut our trip short. * A scary girl fight broke out in the check-out line. Getting really annoyed at this huge corporation that expects to squeeze every penny they can out of all their customers. Shopping after six pm is a joke, all but two cashiers have gone home for the day. Each customer lineup is at least 40 people long. The self check line up is also long, but I am not here to be an employee. Staff changes include replacing a Wallymart employee for a renta security guard at the exit. Renta security guards don't marshal the carts at the exit, creating a fire exit hazard. Time to call the fire department for inspection read more

Walmart is pretty much unavoidable. Every so often there's something I need (bathroom scale, towel rack, craft supplies, etc.) and I know there's no more convenient or cheaper place to get it than Walmart. I don't have anything against Walmart in general (there are some nice Walmart, particularly in small towns), but visiting the Dufferin Mall Walmart is usually an unpleasant, albeit interesting, experience. First the positives. This Walmart is a Supercentre, which means they have everything and it's all super cheap. A huge grocery section, a pharmacy, a photo centre, and, of course, all the typical Walmart departments: toys, clothes, electronics, housewares, and so on. You could conceivably make this the only store you ever shop at. If that was your scene. On the downside, the staff are useless, the store is often in disarray, and checking out is always a hassle. The whole experience is depressing. The worst part about shopping at this Walmart is the clientele. It really seems to attract some of the sketchiest characters in the city. I generally think of a trip to Walmart not as a shopping trip but as an anthropological experience. You could literally write a PhD thesis on bad parenting using this Walmart as your case study. The Dufferin Mall Walmart gets two stars for being a cheap and convenient spot to get a wide variety of items. They lose 3 stars for the poor instore experience though. read more

I ordered a food delivery and it was never delivered. I spent hours trying to track down my order, getting disconnected, being promised it would be delivered "in the next hour," and never receiving my food (while I am in quarantine). In addition, they only refunded me a small portion of the total amount, for some reason, and I had to recontact them to initiate a full refund. I will never shop at Walmart again. read more

I'm always broke and when I need to put a nice meal together while working with only a few bucks I can always depend on going to Wal-Mart for discounted prices. The fruits and vegetables always taste bland and seem to always be coated in a thick wax, its never a good feeling while eating the eggs but you can't beat those prices! I hate going to "The Duff Wal-mart" because it's ALWAYS PACKED! and the Indian lady in front of me standing in line is always asking for a price check because she has clearly ripped the tag off the shoes!! This is one of the closest Walmart (WM) to downtown I know off. Somewhat accessible via the subway (a 5 min walk from dufferin station). So now that you are here (you know the reason almost everything under one roof for a low price) there is plenty to explore. Almost 2 floors of items that cover everything including groceries. Prices are competitive (it is WM after all) . Say what might about WM they do know how to get a bargain. Service is hit and miss IMO and you have to chase people down. Luckily I was here to pick up items for home improvement and found a very knowledgeable staff member. He was patient and offered several solutions to the dilemma I was having. I am not handy by any means and didn't even know what I was looking for initially, just I had an issue and I needed to find a way to resolve it. I usually end up at the closest Canadian Tire and they are pathetic in terms of service. Now that I have a found a WM where I can take the subway I know I have alternate. A strange phenomena was that I saw some youth who were just hanging out here :) who would have thought that WM would be a place to hangout (tells me how much I am out of touch with the youth) read more

Right across the street from Dufferin Grove Park, this Walmart is part of the Dufferin Mall. The nice thing about this store and mall is how well they are integrated into the cityscape around it. Nothing too fancy and surrounded by a typical Toronto west end neighbourhood on all sides. The typical offensiveness of a Walmart store surrounded by acres of asphalt is substituted by a two level design that doesn't impinge on the mall itself. There's free parking underground where you can strategically park near the lower level doors for easy access. The dungeon feel to the lower level is compounded by no cell reception and longer than real-life wait times in the cash lineups as a result. It seems the lines are shorter in the lower level so keep that in mind. read more

I should definitely know better than to go to Dufferin Mall on a Saturday afternoon and especially Walmart as it's always crowded and chaotic, but I was on one of my WInners/Marshalls mission. Plus I don't venture to this mall often, so thought I may as well go to Walmart because I needed some things. I have to admit, they definitely offer some really good every day low prices. The store layout is typical of most Walmarts, but manoeuvring around the crowds is a bit challenging especially when carts, strollers and wandering kids are involved. Walmart will definitely test your patience. Luckily for me, I'm usually in and out of the store as quickly as I can. Lineups for checkouts always tend to be very long with everyone queuing at the closest cash, but I usually go to the far end, since there's usually only 2 or 3 customers in line. Walmart should really initiate a number calling system where everyone lines up in one line and go to the next available cash when called - very effective at other stores. Why can't Walmart adopt this system already? It would definitely streamline their customer service and perhaps then the cashiers won't be too stressed and will actually be friendly. I don't think I ever experience good customer service from any of the cashiers, except perhaps on two occasions and that was a very long time ago, perhaps that's maybe why I almost forgot. read more

I really have to agree with Matthew on just about everything he said, although I never thought about the PHD in bad parenting! I did notice people who were experts in getting in my way and not caring, apologizing or making any effort to move! Yes Walmart does have a lot of stuff I need for cheap. But convenient it is not. In fact, while I am sure they must sell dental floss and liquid soap, I could not for the life of me find it and I got too frustrated with the mess and other patrons to continue to try. This Walmart is on two floors, and we needed products on both. Unfortunately, after we had loaded up on kitty litter in 20lb bags and cat food (large selection and cheap!), we found the escalator up broken*, so had to wait for the elevator. More inconvenience. Checking out was brutal. I know, Saturday afternoons are generally very slow for retail (KIDDING!) so of course they wouldn't think to staff up the registers. 2 cashiers should be enough for a Saturday at noon. !! I guess I should be grateful that 50% of the registers were staffed by somewhat intelligent people who tried to do a good job!! Once I realized that, I went to her register, and things improved just in time for me to get the hell out of there. *If I ever come back in another life and happen to live in Toronto, I will not waste money going to university. No, I will learn how to repair escalators for I will always have work, and it doesn't look like I will have to work hard either. Just saying. Those things are always in need of fixing. read more

This Walmart is pretty trashy. It's dirty, messy and busy/crowded. I've found several broken and un-saleable products on still on the shelves. The worst of it was looking for pyrex sets and finding all of the boxes damaged, opened and taped back up. I will still keep coming here though because it's close to Dufferin station and there are always taxis waiting outside. Getting photos developed, passport photos taken and keys done are fine here. Just don't visit the Cadet Cleaners and expect them to sew anything properly. read more

I remember this WalMart since I was a little girl and its the only one I know.... Dont dare going in there if you dont have a really, really long time. Its in mall and its huge, like every Wal-Mart, and central, which is why I like it. There's even a grocery section now which is cool but weird. Shanin the store manger is complete cold person. My11 year old son bought a Nintendo 2ds with his birthday gift cards. One week ago. These has pictures of Chinese girl on it and it locked to reset. This store obviously puts stuff back on shelf. Now he is stuck with a game system he can't use. All because he simply lost the receipt and they can't take the time to track it down for him. But the guy in front of us can spend twenty minutes tracking down a receipt for a ten dollar lock. But my $125 dollar game is to much to ask. Boxes are to be found all over the floor! The rush of people through this store can be overwhelming. At one time, this was a place for frugal shoppers. They have raised their prices so other stores (such as Sears, Best Buy, Metro) have become a better option. read more

I don't have to tell you much about Wal-Mart. I like this location because it remains open even when Dufferin Mall is closed. Monday - Saturday 7:00 am - 11:00 pm Sunday 7:00 am - 9:00 pm Beware of the guy at the escalator. (Yes, he is always there..) He is the sheriff in town and has a comment/remark on everything. He also has very little patience/understanding when it comes to toddlers sitting in the shopping cart or other crimes in "his" store. Fortunately for him he doesn't have to deal with the temper tantrum of a 2-year old after you put him in the shopping cart in the 'proper way'. But he is polite and otherwise friendly in his ignorance. I always try to avoid the escalator, take the elevator and circle around him otherwise in an interesting hide-and-seek scenario during my shopping adventures at the Dufferin Wal-Mart. read more

I moved near Dufferin Mall a couple of weeks ago, and of course when you move into a new apartment you realise there's a lot of things you need to purchase to improve your living experience... I required things like curtain rods, blinds, lightbulbs, sink faucets and other home items that I reluctantly knew Walmart would carry. They do in fact carry everything you need, but the overall experience of being in this department store shit storm is pretty unbearable at times. Of course it's a Walmart so it goes without saying that people are walking around like ignorant zombies, pushing their overflowing shopping carts while their kids are throwing temper tantrums. You'd be foolish to think the Walmart experience is going to be any different. My beef is that no matter what section of checkouts you hit up (there appears to be 4-5 locations based on the various exits) there's always a huge line-up. The other day I went to buy a pack of six dollar drill bits and had to wait in line for 20 minutes along with about 30 other people. And these are the "express lanes." Usually only about 30% of the checkouts are actually open at any given time. The other day I had to make a return and that too seemed to take forever. Maybe I'm new to the Walmart scene, but finding what you're looking for seems to take forever. I get that all the clothes are upstairs and the home items are downstairs, but once you get down to that lower level you're kind of on your own. Maybe I'm just not noticing the signs, but trying to find the bathroom section made me feel dumb. Even though I dislike Walmart in general it's hard to resist a giant department store down the road from me. I just try to tune out the noise pollution and surly workers. I also don't kid myself and am now fully prepared to wait in unnecessarily long lines. read more

We start off fresh in our adult life being full of ideals and lets make the world a better place. Sadly it's been almost 2 decades now since I was "fresh" (out of school that is) and full of high-n-mightyness. The reality is they have the same stuff you use every day often for much less than you're local mom n' pop. Now I still do try to resist buying the products where I know the "slavings" has been passed on to me. But for certain other items the price can't be beat. The store is vaguely organized chaos with far too few staff both to help you find something, fetch inventory, clean, or cash out.
