If I could give this location- I would!! Horrible store nothing on shelves, smells like rotten meat, employees don't help you, products offen opened, zero selection, and escalators are ALWAYS BROKEN! Ok, so for those of you who have never been in or heard of Wal Mart, this review will help you, as well as many who shop there regularly understand things better. 1. First of all, Wal Mart is not Holt Renfrew, nor is it the local produce stand. Customer service costs a lot at those places. Wal Mart is in the business of cutting costs, as well as perhaps cutting the throat of the produce stand guy. Service is a cost. Really good service is a higher cost. 2. Managing a large number of employees is a challenge at any business, especially a large retailer, which hires young (cheap) managers where most employees fall into the following categories... A. I would rather be siting at home right now, doing nothing. B. this is only a temporary job for me. even though I hate it, I will go back to school, find something else, or move on soon. C. I am still saying item B things, but it has been over a year here and am still here. I Hate my life. D. I sort of like people and my job, but being only 1/4 of an understaffed equation, what can I do? With these two points in mind, here are the core issues.... 1. All three stars are for price. While the place has some issues, price drives my return visits. You will sometimes do better elsewhere (for example, the mums brought in recently at Wal Mart were slightly cheaper and much prettier at Home Depot), but mostly not. 2. The overflowing trash cans and loose trash in the parking lot are a discredit to the store and people who shop there. 3. Even with low prices, Wal Mart will often struggle with selling fresh items. A good price means nothing when you have herbs that are dried out, stale bread, or plants that haven't been watered. I have encountered all these things from a recent visit. 4. The place is never very clean, nor dirty. The brown floors probably help hide the grime, but they may also give the impression that the floors are not clean when they are. 5. Customer service is bad, though slightly better than terrible. see the intro. If this Wal Mart could improve its customer service, manage its fresh items better, and show some respect for the community by keeping its parking lot and exterior clean, it would have more business from me and others who are driven to shop on price more often than not. read more

I like shopping at this Walmarts more than some of the other ones in Toronto. Newly renovated, and in a good neighbourhood. It's a one stop shop of grocery, clothing, bath stuff, makeup, house stuff and anything else you could dream of. I would say that in general (from studying flyers the past few months) the same items you'd buy at Shoppers, are almost guaranteed to be cheaper at Walmarts. But I can't say the same for anything else. There are some good deals here, but it's hit or miss, and everything is thrown out the door when it comes to Black Friday or Boxing Day. There is a furniture section too that is limited, and doesn't change much, but you might find your next cabinet or coffee table here. There is a portrait studio which we've used. We wanted to get our photos printed, and you must self-serve on old Kodak kiosks that may or may not work. It was annoying to re-do your order due a faulty machine. The folks that work here don't seem very knowledgeable either and just print the photos your order off the machine. They do it within an hour. and it's super cheap. The quality was decent, but the paper very thin. Perhaps I haven't printed photos in a long time. There is underground parking which seems like no one knows about. read more

While I rarely get honest smiles from the cashiers they are always nice when when I speak to them and even when I need to do two separate receipts, one for items I'm buying for work and one for my personal things, I never get any attitude or complaints. Customer service seems to have improved here over the past 6 months but the store does seem a bit short staffed, management is likely trying to cut some corners. All in all... its a walmart. They are the dictionary definition of cheap stores with decent products. Maintaining low staff levels and minimum wage employees is the norm and you get what you pay for. This store is often out of the name that represents Walmart GREAT VALUE. This is what I can afford, the cost of living isn't exactly cheap these days. This negative turn around took place about 2 years ago prior you could always find what you were looking for. To me, this comes down to poor management because certain products that I could not find there I found them at the Dufferin Mall Walmart. read more

New to the area I went to this Walmart to pick up some things for the apartment. He layout was different from what I'm use to for walmarts but found everything fairly easily. While looking around I was even asked by an employee what I was looking for and was given directions. The cashier was very dull to be honest, no friendly small talk or have a good day. Just scanned and told me the total. Not gonna write off this location on customer service though because it was a busy Saturday and let's be honest, he's a Walmart cashier, I bet he wanted to be out doing something else instead of dealing with all us haha read more

This is one of the newer Walmarts so it is spacious and includes a Vision Centre, portrait studio, pharmacy, garden centre and Mcdonald's. They have a grocery section too (which I always thought was weird until I understood post-baby why one-stop shopping is such a catchy phrase). But they don't have produce, just dry goods and refridgerated stuff. Not depressing like the Dufferin Mall location. read more

This Wal-Mart is convenient to me, I mainly just goto this location because of the location and parking. Today I went and giving my review cause I went to switch a cell phone plan and Amish who helped me is a pretty cool dude, he was not pushy with the sale or trying to sell me extra incentives but to just inform me about it. Whoever is looking to purchase a cell phone/plan go see him. A+ service from him, everything went smooth. read more

My favorite Walmart location. Not as big as most of the other supercentre locations but always have what I needed in stock. Underground parking is available for those really cold winter or really hot summer days. Store is showing its age for sure and the cleanliness might be questionable at times, but you can't really expect much from a Walmart. Very organized store. Not very crowded on normal days but does get busy during peak hours and days before holidays. read more

This Walmart is in dire need of help to keep up with brand standards. The bathrooms smelled like a porta potty. I was there to pickup a prescription and grab some ingredients for dinner, but did not end up getting any food. The store just isn't clean and nice like a grocery store should be. read more

I enjoy shopping at this Walmart location more than the others. The cashiers look very solemn and do their job well. One employee who always has a smile and is very helpful when I am trying to check out myself to save time, is Lorie at the self check-out and another employee Melanie is very pleasant too and willing to help and direct people to where some products are. The McDonald's is very slow but clean and is a nice break when shopping for multiple items. The washrooms need cleaning more frequently. All in all, the clothing and groceries are at a great price and I am very happy shopping at this store. read more

such bad customer service, never stepping foot in this walmart again. very rude staff and follow you around the moment you step foot. i recently went to walmart to look at a product i've been looking for, i saw an open product thinking it was a tester, i liked it and started walking around the store looking for another product i was also looking for. he proceeded to follow me and told me to put the product back and pay for it, i went gladly went back. and then he proceeded to tell me that it wasn't a tester and i wasn't supposed to be opening it, but i didn't even know. he was very rude and told me that i would've been banned for 2 years because of opening a product i thought was a tester he said he would give me a pass and let me leave the store fine and not banned. i proceeded to walk away pissed because of what happened, he continued to get in my face and then followed me out the store telling me i was banned for 2 years, unbelievable. go anywhere else but this walmart. customer service is better everywhere else. read more

I attend this Wal-Mart daily but today was awful an employee repeatedly told me I was wrong then chased me to the isle where I snapped a picture of the item with the price I told her (Adda) that I would speak to a manager at which point she snatched the item from my hand and ran ahead of me to the manager. I did get the price that was posted but not before I was verbally attacked by an employee. I will no longer shop at this location. If your smart go to duffrine or the Walmart at Wilson and Jane. I went shopping at this Walmart location on a Sunday afternoon to pick up a few things and browse a bit. It was obviously very busy, being a Sunday afternoon and with school just starting so I already was prepared for that. At one point, I needed to check the price of something and asked an employee who was walking past me with a price gun for help. Either he honestly did not hear my repeated "Excuse me, excuse me!" or he knowingly walked away, likely annoyed by the previous loudly disgruntled customer. I can excuse this, sometimes my voice is pretty mousy and hard to hear. However, when I got to the cash register, it was awful. The young girl (Im not sure of her name but she was likely early-20s, long braided hair, kangaroo Roots hoodie in black pepper), stared at me with a cold face. I briefly smiled at her to help warm the situation, but she offered nothing back. She asked if I wanted a bag for my items and when I replied yes, that it was raining outside, she put the bag onto my purchased items and then asked the next person to come up to cash them out. Obviously annoyed and quite frankly shocked by the horrible service, I asked her if I had to bag my items myself, to which she replied "It doesn't matter." This individual should not be working in customer service. I rarely ever expect tip-top customer service going into Walmart, but this was just horrible. This Wal-Mart isn't horrible if you just want to shop and go, and you know what you're searching for is readily available. However, once you can't find something, it's all downhill from there because they have horrible customer service. They have LOTS of staff, but they're all incompetent, to put it lightly. They don't know how to listen, and they don't know where ANYTHING is. Today, I was looking for gift boxes and saw them all the way at the back in boxes. I went to a staff loitering around the area, and asked her if she could help with the unopened boxes. However, it was as if she did not hear what I said - she continuously disagreed that there were none available if we couldn't find them and constantly made excuses (I already told her that there were UNOPENED BOXES AVAILABLE behind the EMPTY display boxes in front). Completely giving up on talking to her, I decided to go to Customer Service, and while they were able to somewhat help, their attitude was horrible and unnecessary. Of course, if a customer is frustrated it would show, and it would either go like this: 1) the customer gets annoyed; or 2) they laugh at the incompetence by multiple staff members. You can't blame a customer for showing that frustration after dealing with the amount of incompetence that they have witnessed (And yes, I'm overusing incompetence, but it's the most relevant word I can think of when describing their employees). Word of advice, Wal-Mart. HIRE people who actually want to work there and not just loiter. And hire people who are especially good with handling customers. Very, very disappointed. Edit: You should be more organized and should train your staff better - good luck with keeping your customers with this level of incompetence once Target opens. read more

I was looking for a phone charger in the electronic section and I couldn't seem to find anyone at all to assist me.

What is going on at this Walmart location? Half the store seems to be gone, there is a whole wall of clearance merchandise, and the selection is down, down, down. Is this location closing? I went there to get some Rubbermaid tubs - could not find any, just the awful Sterlite ones. This location is really badly maintained - the movator is broken half the time at least, the area around the entrance is very dirty, the underground parking, although handy, is not clean, and they keep reducing what is available in the store. Yesterday, there was a whole section of Christmas markdowns - 50% off - but for many of the items, no indication of the original price - so 50% off of what price? Maybe folks would buy more things if they knew the prices?? What a thought. Then this location is sneaky - they put all kinds of things on the wall behind the Christmas marked down items, but those items are not on sale - despite being surrounded by 50% off items. I have to watch the prices that appear on the register like crazy during checkout. This location is convenient for me, but it is a gross store. read more

Recentlly this Wal-mart has gone seriously downhill. Did they have a change of management. The bathrooms are typically filthy and disgusting. They have a sign on the wall to talk with management of the bathrooms are filthy but if you do all the staff do is laugh. They don't want to deal with it either. They have one of those charts on the wall for cleanings. If you look at it you might find the place hasn't been cleaned in days. They have terrible service but lots of staff. Staff everywhere but what the staff love to do is stand around in cliques or even at the cashiers and chat with each other. It's hard to get a word in edgewise. Tonight one cashier had another friend stop by on her break and all they did was talk. I rescued some of my greeting cards from landing on the floor as she didn't care where my purchases landed. She never spoke to me but she did chat up a storm with the other employee. Cases of everything everywhere. Good luck getting down the aisles. Stuff is not displayed it's in giant shrink wrapped skids. Frankly I am looking forward to Target's arrival for some competition. Just a new clean store would be an improvement.
