So far that hasn't really been an issue for me but it could be something I have to deal with at some point, I'd recommend them because I'm pleased with my glasses and Nanette is so good at taking care of the customers. I made an appointment online and the various "first-time" patient forms were emailed to me. I completed and brought them to my appointment. There was no wait on the day of my appointment, I got there early and used that time to peruse the impressive selection of frames. I needed regular glasses and prescription sunglasses. This is the first place I've ever seen regular frames made for narrow heads--and they had 10-15 narrow options! I usually have to get frames marketed at kids, which means the length of the ear piece is too short and the ends poke into my ears. Problem solved!! Their overall selection is excellent, with lots of styles and colors. There was also an ample supply of sunglasses, prescription and otherwise. My exam was efficient and the doctor was friendly and willingly answered questions (as they should be, but they're not like this at some places!). At Epic, they have the machine that's used instead of pupil dilation. There's a fee, but it's worth it. The front desk staff, whose names I don't recall, painstakingly and patiently reviewed my obscure plan benefits to make sure they'd be able to get to the correct price. They helped me understand it, though I still loath the thing, as being old makes the plan seem almost worthless wherever I go. I picked up the sunglasses today, and Alicia was incredibly helpful. They aren't made for my narrow noggin, so she took extra time to heat and reshape the frame so they'd stay in my head better and I'd be more comfortable. She also checked on my regular prescription pair and let me know that the delay was due to the manufacturer being out of the lens material. And, Alicia took time to clean and heat/reshape my current prescription glasses, which are a wreck after 18 months of use/abuse. They stay up now and she got some of the paint and misc crap off them. She didn't have to do that, so that just tells you about the quality of the staff at Epic. They are genuinely good people who are interested in making sure you can see better and have a great experience. I know this is a long review, but I wanted to be sure I gave the Epic team the credit they deserve for being so helpful, friendly and professional. The patient was definitely not drunk or under the influence of any drugs or alcohol. It's pretty obvious when people are drunk because they reek of alcohol she was just there for an eye visit. I am not sure why the staff thought she was under the influence of alcohol or drugs because she clearly wasn't but they proceeded to call the police on her and tell the police that she was under the influence of alcohol yet the staff still treated her for her visit. If she was really under the influence of alcohol wouldn't medical professionals not be allowed to treat her? I don't think the staff would've treated her because it's probably a liability to treat a I patient that's under the influence of drugs or alcohol. I was an appalled by them treating her this way when the woman was just was coming in to get a new prescription for her glasses and I witnessed her behavior. She was not under the influence of anything for the staff to call the police on her is absurd and extremely unprofessional. I will never go here again after I witnessed how they treat their patients very unprofessional receptionist, staff, and definitely the medical staff. I don't know what this lady did for them to treat her this way, but she didn't deserve that and I will never go there again and I will tell all my friends and everyone I know how this poor young lady was treated and how no one should ever go to insight vision center off Lone Elm in Olathe, Kansas. Do better. I don't know why the staff assumed she was under the influence. Now I believe the staff or medical professionals that work there were under the influence is that why they thought that she was? It's absurd and I will tell everyone about this. Took my 3 year old here to get an eye exam. The doctor proceeded to take her prescription manually, I was SO impressed with his patience and professionalism. Then, after that, the doctor suggested that we go back to the machines and try again. He was able to get pictures this time! The machine read her prescription as the EXACT numbers that he had recorded during his manual examination. The man behind the desk urged me to bring her back if there were any problems with her glasses. They ended up slipping down her nose a bit so I took him up on that. He fixed it in a matter of minutes and they have fit perfectly for the last 3 months!! I cannot emphasize enough how impressed I was and how grateful I am to this location. The ophthalmic assistants are highly capable in the performance of all testing procedures from everything as basic as visual acuity to things as complex as optic nerve photography. The very best part about being a patient of Sabates Eye Centers is my ophthalmologist, Dr. Katie Macaluso, a cornea specialist. She carefully listens to what I have to say about what has been going on with my eyes. Dr. Katie also takes into account how my general health may be affecting my eye health. She has performed in-office procedures on me, and she has done so in a painless manner. Dr. Katie explains all treatment plans (i.e. drops) thoroughly. She is such a kind and warm person. Dr. Katie is the best that ophthalmology has to offer.
