Mr. White was there every time that I was. He ran the cash register. He was a gentleman and a great entrepreneur and was obviously loved by the local citizens. The Beacon was serving their version of fast food many years before the onset of large chains. Not only did his business survive the fast food onslaught, it continued to excel.

These houses have been home to former governors and all kinds of political and educational folks. They congregate here for some reason. All the housing facades are in immaculate condition as are the yards. Ultimately we decided against moving here and decided to purchase a house in our hometown. The treatment I received at the front desk was quite upsetting The staff member was rude and made several snarky comments, including negative remarks about the Greenville museum. while the layout is great and I enjoyed the space, there were several issues with upkeep. Many of the exhibits--specifically the trains, the cars, and the turtle operating station--appear old and worn. Additionally, the story nook on the lower level was a mess upon our arrival, and there was a noticeable odor in the building. While I appreciated that the museum was not overcrowded, the lack of cleanliness and the poor staff attitude were significant drawbacks to our visit. Bring your own hand sanitizer as they have hand sanitizing stations they're not refilled or they were not filled when we were there, which is a sign of no upkeep

I gave the girl at the front desk my coupon and she acted like she didn't know what it was. She went to the back to ask and they confirmed that it was indeed legit. I noticed my total was more than expected and I asked her if she took off the coupon. She said she did for one person. I told her it would be for up to 4 people. She told me no. I asked her to check the coupon again and she saw what it said and "huffed" and went back to ask again. I honestly thought it was pretty rude! They have two stories. It's not a ton to do but my kids were entertained. They were more entertained downstairs with the water table more than upstairs. The bathrooms were clean. There were a lot of spots to do pretend play as well. Parking is on the street if you can find one or in the free lot across the street.
